Ay input on 25.5 up to mabey 26 not being enough to purge I have my mityvac set up and that's the most I can pull and I don't feel like it is purging as much as it should I did it 5 times for 20 minutes each 5 times I pumped it up that got it pretty nice an smooth.

yea all of yall that do pulls for 20 mins or some shit are yall getting wax or goo?
mine sits for hours at -29
 
well heres my results so far... cant get it wax. im doing something wrong. I think I need a better "heating pad" , mine i a portable element thingy and its very hard to control. my dish transfers heat very well.. even the handles get hot. I think I might have got my oil too hot at one point... 130-140F :( it wont wax.




20 grams of nice, stinky kush. 2 cans of butane:




first swipe of the blade, nice color:




second swipe off the edges (probably more purged than the thick stuff on the bottom)




the final swipe of the last bits... it was warm and hard to scoop.. as I scraped the razor along the bottom of the dish, the oil kept rolling like a small wave into itself, hence the bubbles and light color.




bowl is 100% clean an razor is 98% clean... warm the razor up and wipe it on a paper, makes a wonderful honey oil paper to make an awesome joint with.

after a few pulls, few heat cycled pulls, and I let it sit overnight at 27" with the ball valve closed... does that even do anything to the oil? when I woke up, I had lose vacuum by a tiny bit. there is a very very very small leak somewhere.






also, when I open the chamber after a vacuum, it really stinks like honey oil in the chamber... wouldnt the vacuum pump suck that smell and stuff out??

cant wait to maybe make some wax... I hope its not my strain. this kind was hindu kush, or so I was told.. the next run is OG kush, or so I was told.

I definitely didnt get any muffins, or any major expansion.. I dont know what im doing wrong!! :-?
 
u need to apply the heat and vac at the same time continuously and keep an eye on the temps for sure
131 is perfect if thats the temp it is at in the chamber
 
for how long continuously? seems like it just keeps bubbling and getting smaller and smaller. I think my main downfall is my heating element. I need a lower temp one. even on 1 mine get red hot, I think its broke.

131 was the temp of the oil directly when i was pointing the temp gun at it... it seemed like it was way too hot!

do I need to keep the pump running to "apply vac" or can i close the ball valve, then turn off the pump, and let it sit at 27hg overnight.

since you already pushed the heat that far, i would keep it a that heat, and at full vacuum over night.. just set it and wait. if you are lucky it will wax up, if you are fortunate, you will have an awesome very stable shatter.. ( you said the bubbles are getting smaller and smaller , this is good, but, not good if its all runnyy and bubbly, it should be more sappy, and bubbles should semi- slowly stretch when expanding, not just instantly pop.. .. its hard to tell what bubbles you speak of....


OR, you fucked up, and put toooo much heat initially, now you are a the goooo for life stage :] -if you feel you are a this stage already, i would drop the heat a bit, maybe down to 120 ( low enough to wear you still see bubbles purging..) and leave it just like that over night, you should wake up to a fully purged goo..

it happens.. but big question!

did you input 100 grams of material to pull 20 grams???? dayumm son, and only 2 cans!? that was the original plan right?

yes that was the original plan... but I got excited the first night and varied it a bit. I kept that 100g bag of trim in the closet, and I chopped up 20g of nice bud instead. ran 2 cans through that and got around 3g of oil (its not fully rinsed).. I think 4g would be my 20% yield mark so there is probably 1 gram left in the extractor still. I put my finger in the stream of butane coming out though and it was no loner sticky.. hmmm..

the bubbles are very slow, thick, sticky, slowly popping bubbles. there was no muffins and no major expansion. it doest peel off the parchment paper real nice, and its easy to handle.

do I keep the heat on overnight too? Its already a very nice oil, dont think its any smoother though. I can feel it ENTERING my lungs.. not only leaving!!! but damn does it get ya fuckin ripped. I hope its not at that gooooo forever part. its not quite shatter yet though.

I have the next 2 days off all of a sudden so I am going to experiment more with that 100g bag of trim, make a few batches... go buy a griddle today and really try to perfect this.

just FYI, that pump is used in air conditioning and was designed to run over 24 hrs to achieve less than 500 microns in your lines. Keep the oil fresh and it should last for a very long time.
 
what does the oil do? why does it have to be fresh?

my pump took the whole bottle.. where can I find more of this stuff?

same as a car, it breaks down after so much use, In ac it collects crap. Your use may be able to use it a lot longer. you can get it auto parts or home depot, or ac supply house.

keep on working towards perfection! im still on my way there ;p

andddd, you dont need to leave your vacuum on over night. thats what the shut off valves and gauges are for.. but you need to have heat on it the whole time, and you need to keep your chamber at full vacuum (EX: run vacuum till you feel its safely not giving you any more vac, close ball valve or what ever. and you are done! its your choice to run the vacuum on as long as you want, but realistically its gonna take a long time for this process, so you might as well hold the pressure with the the valves closed, rather than keep vac on and running.. ..

Yeh no goo it waxes and doesn't bubble and is stable like I can touch and play with it but there is a small sizzle when I dab so I know there is a small amount of butane in there but definently much better then when I didn't purge, but ieven when I didn't purge it would still not be runny it would still be waxy.
 
you dont have to leave it running.... but thats how i get wax...... so you may have a ball valve but that doesn't stop the bho on the inside of the chamber offsetting your pressure when it releases the butane, this is why i do a continuous vacuum because the pressure is always changing because the bho is releasing the butane in to the chamber

yall asked how i do it

i have never gotten mine to wax in a 1 hour period after doing pulls yalls skills have surpassed mine

i have said a couple of times to use continuous vacuum till it waxes

if u look at my setup and looked at how i do it, you will see that i have an 8 inch inline duct fan venting my blast zone
so go back thru and take a look i took alot of picture and posted alot of notes so please look over it and then chime back in when you have fully read the walk through

anyone else want to put in their 2cents before reading any of the first post...
