How’s the outdoor season going?

I let her out too early in the morning, she didn't show at first and another one did. I thought I might get away with some damage but it is just a sticky mess now. Still smells nice, we will have to see what the offspring turn out like. I got about 200 seeds so far, hope daddy is more than just a pretty face. I have three plants that still retained their virgin state, the three behind the one on the line. A balanced thc/cbd so I am not doing that bad.

Any updates on how the sativas are doing?
After a freak mid september frost melted down all the soybean fields, the powder mildew has gone crazy around here. The gg4 couldn’t handle it and got tossed in the compost. Gg4 has really weak connections where the branches join the main stalk, it is surprising how easy they break. The gt x pck has minor mildew issues, hoping for an end of october finish, it smells like fresh carrot tops and from the tips I sampled it packs one heck of a nice punch. The red hair got a borer which caused rot in the stalk. Carpenter ants killed the borers off and hardwood ash in water (pH 10) healed the rot so its still kicking but looks tough. Banger haze x ssh is going to be into november for sure, and it is very resistant to pm and bugs. The weather has turned for the better and we are getting more west/south winds and sunshine.

Earlier varieties are coming off, alot of friends and neighbours have a garden this year so its a busy time. The stuff that should have been ready during the last moon lagged behind due to weather but is coming off now.

Less seeds from hemp this year is also a bonus. Last year we found that early varieties got seeded pretty good and the later stuff had barely anything.

Looks great! I see you have a cover for her, outside... does that help for the frost?
Oh yeah. Been chilly lately so hang an old fitted sheet over the front and have a little heater in there to keep it between 40 - 45F when it drops below freezing. Was -4C/28F last night and she's doing fine and getting bigger colas by the day. At least a week or more before I start chopping on her bit by bit from the top down. A pound at least I'm betting. All CBD goodness with less than 1% THC.

5 foot tall almost. 4'10.5" last time I checked.

I never finished a plant outside before. The forecast for the next while looks to be a high of 10-12 C and low of -3-0 C . Will the plants still develop in these temperatures and the shorter days?
Yes if it gets at least bright light during the days. Heavy cloud blocks most good rays tho. Se my previous post above.

I had a look at the red hair yesterday. It had botrytis on four tips and the remaining leaves were turned to leather. It dropped its fans over a month ago. The borers tried to chew into the root crown back in the summer and caused a rot, which had the effect of girdling the plant. It started budding earlier than the early stuff did. The frost three weeks ago sped things up some more and now I have milky trichromes, with some amber and the plant is quickly fading. I think its crunchy enough for me.

I got my chop on and now its hanging. The bud smells like fennel, wintergreen, and clove with a slight citrus finish. The scissor hash went in the vape pen and it tastes just like it smells. No dissapointment here. Cuts from the same plant growing at my buddies place are still green but have huge spears on them.

Nightingale (NN-1), named after Florence Nightingale the founder of modern nursing, is a poly hybrid indica bred from the legendary Shiskaberry and CD-1. During testing, its CBD levels have ranged from 20.3% to 10.3%.
I'll take the bits with the higher CBD levels please. ;)

She's a beaut! How long you figure before she's done?

Really odd sickness today, thought it might be that new trendy thing going round but I had no cough of fever although it did feel like a weight on my chest. Better now, was weird though, not like a flu but similar. Couldn't lay in bed any more so I did something mindless. I hope daddy was something worthwhile.

Feeling better now, not 100% but brain is functioning well enough.

She’s coming down tomorrow, lots of amber (20%) im using it all for edibles after it gets turned into concentrates..
I think I'll be starting to chop mine down tomorrow and for the rest of next week. The weather has gone to shit and snow forecast for Monday and every day for a week. Not a lot but damn. Was hoping for another week or two but she's looking done now. I'm just going to be doing a light trim as I remove the colas from the top down. A big bowl at a time ten separate the buds from the stems and into the freezer it goes in sealed 1L tobacco cans. I make cocobudder with it and decarb right in the hot oil. Drop the frozen buds in and grind up with a hand blender. Saves all the terpenes drying, curing and oven decarbing loses.

Really need some as my arthritis is flaring with the change in weather and I need my hands working! lol

I make this Island Dream cbd 1:1 plant into dry sift hash and then I eat the hash. Give these trichromes a month to cure and they will fall like rain. Tastes like incense and spices.

We get pollinated by cbd plants now and alot of people grew the seed out. I’ve seen some nice stuff come from it. It’s like having the cbd versions of whatever varieties you grew last year.

When all is said and done I will have at least 2l lb of high cbd Sebrings Revenge and 8oz of Zkittles. The colas on the SR were like baseball bats. I had so much I just left the lower popcorn buds for the compost pile. I still have 2 plants left to finish....they are lagging behind by 3 weeks at least. I also have a share in 3 White Widows....

Ah the things you see when watching your crop...
Just saw a giant meteorite streak across the sky from eat to west and to the north of central ontario.
Was awesome could see some flames and sparklers coming off it.
TOO Cool
That is cool, unfortunately there is too much light pollution where I live...

I grew 4 of those out and still have lots in the freezer. Indoors and only got a little over an oz each but have plenty of seeds yet so will look for a better producing momma.

Got an Earth Lover of Sebring's outside yet that was supposed to be auto but grew photo and going to get well over a pound off her for sure. Took the top off a lower branch today and a few small one that would be popcorn on an indoor plant but were decent buds. 100g wet so about 25g dry. Using 50g of that to make cocobudder right now.

Popcorn buds are to valuable to waste and easily made into budder or used for oil. I even run the trim with hardly anything on it through my keif screen to salvage the last of the goody. Scottish ya know and abhor waste of any kind. ;)

You can see a good meteor even in the brightest places. I've seen some nice ones working as a water hauler way up north where there isn't a light bulb for 100 miles. Amazing skies and northern lights that sing. Lying on the roof of the water truck with it shut down while blazing a fatty in the middle of no where and it's -50. Who needs acid. ;)

I grew for the first time this year. Orange Cookies, outdoor, from clone. Many challenges (powdery mildew, aphids, wind, hail...). Ended up harvesting two decent plants, just over 2 lbs dry. Now curing further in jars. Was able to cure an earlier cut, and the quality is quite good. Will definitely grow again - I'm hooked on growing. Will have an indoor set up arriving in a couple of weeks!

Here's a couple of pics after wet trim, prior to hanging to dry.
