This did not work for me.. i think the chemicals in the insulation may have been messing things up..

Honestly - Rapid Rooters are what all the big growers use.. and they are like $25. im about to toss out my cloner and go to those.
 
I am also about toss my aerocloner and go back to RW cubes...:wall:

then go to a 7/11 buy a 12 pack and a cheap styrofoam cooler...
 
Aside from the task of having to mist the plants with Jump Start and pure water every 12 hours or so, I'm a huge fan of rapid rooters. I have no experience with aerocloners and don't want to. One nasty power outage and your clones are fucked. I prefer to keep it simple, even though it's a hassle- if that makes sense at all....lol. I used rockwool cubes for years, but switched to rapid rooters after I saw the side by side comparison....big difference IMO. Keep your head up man and good luck.
 
I started with RR plugs.. but hey come apart in contact with H2O2.. so I went to RW and loved it... tried the ezcloner and do not like it one bit...

Why do you need H202? I use hygrozyme, beneficial bacterias, and mycorrhizae in my setup and wouldn't touch hydrogen peroxide. Just curious.:?:

It's a personal choice...:eyesmoke:

When I started copying Al B. Fuct's op, I copied his use of H2O2... with GREAT results...

But after my hydro shop quit carrying it, I tried different things... MANY different things... and they were ALL more expensive and shown no better results.. in fact, I actually got some pretty poor results with some of the more expensive lines and additives...

So I reverted back to simple and sterile...

I use about $60 a month in the soup.. TOTAL.. to feed a 2400w flower room..

I use the Grow Juice for the moms... and the Bloom juice for the flowers... + H2O2...

Big res and a simple soup allow me to leave the op alone for a week no sweat, 2 weeks if I feel brave...:razz:

Here's what I use...1400 ppm from day one to harvest.. no additives...:mrgreen:

Wow, nice! Old school Greenleaves Grow and Bloom juice? I remember when that stuff was relatively new on the scene. It had a feature where you could tell the pH of it by the color of the solution. Seemed far too simple to work well and I wrote that stuff off years ago, but damn, those are not only some great results, but great pics too. Congrats. What strains are those btw?

And the rest is all bagseed...:lol:

And you are right... if you mix it and it turns yellow, you are "in-range".. whatever that is...:lol: I just use a pH meter...:lol: but the soup is super stable in a 100 gallon res filled to 80 gal... 10 days to go from 5.6 to 6.2...:razz:
 
Fireman and Gypsy, not sure anyone's mentioned this yet, but w/o a repeat or cycle timer, aerocloners won't work.

The pump makes the water too warm. Grab a timer and do 1 min on 5 min off and you'll be fine. Just don't give up on it.

Think about what happens in any type of aeroponic system when temps hit anything above 74*, the roots can't survive and you get root rot. Roots won't even make an attempt to form in an environment that inhospitable.

Also Gypsy, wanted to say thank you for all of the great information that I've picked up from your threads. I'm actually 8 days away from firing up my grow. 3400 watts of vertical light in a sealed room with Co2 enrichment using a 12 pot ebb & grow setup, I'll send you a pm when i start my journal. Would love to have your wisdom as a resource for when shit hits the fan.

Hope the advice and timer will solve your problems though.
 
Oh...

It's been running 24/7... with about 60~65F water in it.. even with the pump running 24/7...

and when I change the water... it come out of the tap @ 36F...

I made a cloner with a 20 gal tote and instead of using neoprene inserts I drilled half inch holes (110 of them) in the lid and cut up pieces of pipe insulation to fill the hole around the stem. After three weeks with no roots I couldnt figure out what was wrong untill a couple sprouted a few roots right where the stem contacted the lid. I assume that they were being pinched to tight, didn't seem tight though. So I cut a piece of half inch foam to cover the the top and drilled quarter inch holes where the half inch ones were and just dropped the stems through with nothing sealing the hole and they started rooting in six days. And that was the only environmental factor changed.

i use an aero i just put a bit of root juice in the rez dip the cuts in clone gel plug them in the aero and forget them for a week

i use a 16 gal 8 misters and a 250gph pump

can anyone tell me the proper cond. it takes for an aero cloner?

how often to change the water
whats the proper ph level
what the ppm should be (assuming i mix liquid seaweed or rooting hornmone?)
how far my floresent lights should be for the first few days to the last few days

And anything i missed, its definatly appreciated thanx

i wasnt sure about this, the guy at the hydro store was tellin me he gets better results with cooler water temps.

For cloning yes you do need it warm just like any other cloning method. I dont keep track of my temps in the cloner but yea warmer is better for cloning vegging and flowering now that is a different story.
