No more "like" button?! Fuck that I'm staying in China! :bigjoint:

I know before I left the smilies were getting tempermental. Looks like they still are. This place is falling to pieces without me!

I'm jealous, it sounds awesome! Enjoy the rest of your stay my friend! :-)

Thanks buddy. Alot has changed since we were here 2 years ago. There was 1 internet cafe which was basically a big room with about 50 computers. The internet has indeed finally grabbed hold. Now the neighbor has wifi at their house. I unsuccessfully tried to crack it on and off for about 2 weeks. I finally asked my wife to ask for the password today and here I am. As introverted as I am, the total lack of genuine human conversation was alittle much for me.

Also the last time we were here they were in the process of building their first high rise apartment complex. There are now about 20. Them Chinese work fast. My wife's house is rumored to be in an area ripe for future gentrification, so we've been getting all the titles in order so if and when the time comes we don't lose our retirement plan. Word on the street is that it's a big payday if they want your property and everything is in order and imminent domain/pennies on the dollar if it ain't.

Anywho New Years dinner was ridiculously awesome. This was for 5 people...and all that would fit on the stove/table and in the picture.

Haha, in all honesty I could definitely walk away from my life in the states and live here happily ever after if it wasn't for the little one's education. Once she's done with school and doesn't need us any longer, this is the plan.

That's a long ways off. Hope it works out. The wife and I have similar plans but things are always changing.

I love the red rims :) Happy New Year Neo and family.

Fucking likes. I like all your guys responses and have indeed missed talking to you all on the daily. More so than I thought I would.

Today is actually Chinese New Years Eve and is a pretty big deal. Everyone stays at home and eats dinner with their family and sets off fireworks all day. And not like pussy American fireworks, I'm talking Chinese-style-we-invented-fireworks-look-at-this-mortar-small-bomb-fucking-fireworks. They're setting off car alarms and shit lol. Lots and lots of awesome food tonight. I'm pretty fucking excited to eat dinner actually lol.
I lost it laughing at that one. Sounds like an awesome time!

Out in the boonies where my wife lives...within reason, yes. I've made it a point to try everything offered atleast once.

Dude, had dog in Jamaica, Vietnam, and Northern Japan. Shit was BOMB every time!!!

Sorry for pokin' fun, it's awesome, and I'm a bit jelly.

Wish there was a dis-like button.

I know different cultures an all, blah blah blah, lol. To each his own. That's just one meat I could never eat short of starvation . I'm getting that way with pigs now too though.

Funny thing is, I won't eat swine. I'll cook it, and it'd make Jesus and Mohamed say yum. I can't groove on swine, though. I'm more than willing to eat most things. I'm a bit of a "cross contamination" freak, though.

Neo, rock that shit! More pics! And, give us a LITTLE meta data, so we can GPS it out, and check out your hillside adventure. (still jelly.)

Yeah dogs on the menu. Not much different tasting than other red meat. A bit more oily and slightly gamey. We had it the first night we were here to kick off the adventure in true local fashion. Meat and vegetables in a dish is called dinner. Don't matter what meat or what vegetables. The end result is always the same. You thank the animal for offering it's bounty and life goes on.

The weather is unusually awesome. It's been in the 60's since we landed and supposed to hit 70 over the weekend. Yesterday was the first it's rained and did so very lightly. Global warming is awesome.

Tomorrow we'll walk around the city and look at all the New Years decorations. And have everyone stare at me. It's pretty much the 2nd time they've seen a white guy. The first time being me, 2 years ago lol. The day after tomorrow we'll go to the countryside and pay our respects at their ancestors graves. Out here they bury their ancestors on the sides of mountains. My wife's parents divorced and as such are buried on different mountains. Both are quite a hike. Should get some good pictures.

On another note, Facebook is blocked here and as such this is really the first time I've conversed with anyone other than my wife in quite awhile as I don't speak Chinese. So thanks for listening! Hope you all are well.
