opossums make great pets similar to a cat. they will even use a cat box and eat cat food. you can take them to a vet for check ups. they do have a scent gland that excretes a scent when they play dead (when older) but as the critter becomes more comfortable with u it shouldnt be a problem

ive never had an opposum but ive had a bunch of possumshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Possum, little bastards run straight up your leg and sit on top of your head when you tame em,which can become a bit of an issue when they get bigger, they are a pest here in New Zealand introduced here from Australia and the government spends millions every year poisoning them with big aerial drops,man they will do anything to get to your weed,cyanide being the only foolproof way to keep em away (although i wouldnt recommend fools play with cyanide lol) that thing is cute but not as cute as a possum, i shot a couple doz of em last weekend,the fur off em is worth $100 buks a kilo,takes 12-15 possums to get a kilo in winter.

pssssh says you, if you take an opossum to the vet, the vet would call animal control have it take away, and youd get charged with some kind of cruelty to animals, im pretty sure theres one for trying to keep a wild animal domesticated, and the opossum would likely be relesed into the wild, or put down if it cant care for its self

fdd you would have better luck driving it into the woods a few miles away

That thing is adorable. How could you ever kill of 12-15 living animals for a measly 100. That's sad.

Everytime im done with my corn on the cob theres always some left on the end. I just give that to the dog, she holds it down and can perfectly take all the corn off in like a minute.
