I have to leave town for 4 days....

Get some wicking material. Bury one end into the coco and put the other end into a small reservoir. You can buy cord made specifically for that purpose or you can probably use something you already have on hand. I wouldn't bother with one of those cheap electronic automatic watering systems.

I’ll go out on a limb here and say this is above the head of the OP at this point. Personally I’d suggest transplant into something like even Ocean Forest and deal with the nutes in it.

Or OP could transplant the seedlings into 1 or 2 gallons of coco, gently.

Feed them the day he leaves and not worry while he’s gone and then sort out a better auto watering system for the next time rather than rush it.

What @xtsho said above: get some wick system going. Or buy AutoPots.

You can install some wicks into regular plant pots and have them sit on top of a reservoir. It will easily get you through several days.

Make sure the reservoir is light proof, or else you will get algae growth.

You can also use capillary mats, but threading wicks through containers is even easier.

No pumps required, super reliable, cheap, easy to set up.

I guess I should elaborate a little bit. Lol.

IME when plants are young I find it best to allow some dry back before upsizing your pot.

i consider it time to transplant when my small starter pots are almost dry every day.

At this point I would pick up with daily feeding.

If I was to take that small starter pot and seedlings and instantly transplant it into for example an 8L pot (2G approx) it would take approx 7 days to dry out that entire pot.

now it’s not ideal to do this but it would definitely help the OP out if he wants to keep with coco.

Your saying transplant into larger pots? Tjey are only 2 days old in solo cups. I hate to bother them.

It's very easy to rig watering equipment, or just buy something like AutoPot, Octopot or Blumats. You can even set fabric pots on top of a capillary mat.

In fact, it's so easy that I would recommend that over hand watering, especially for beginners.

(And, no, the "salt buildup" story is hogwash. It is not a problem unless you overfeed. Plus one can always flush intermittently.)

I’ll stick with suggesting newer growers avoid coco. For multiple reasons including leaving town without notice or etc. Same with hydro for newer growers.

I started in coco.

I’ve deviated here and there but always returned back to it as I find it easier to control what’s going in but then again i was a broke ass MF when I started so leaving town for Vacay etc never happened anyway lmao.

Most new growers can’t think like we do. They don’t know what to setup for. They’re on here asking questions about everything. Literally everything from using tap water to what size container to use.

It would depend when you leave.
I would advise the night before you set off.

if that’s in a few days then the roots should hold everything together by then for a transplant to work etc.

I’d freak happily if I could leave town even for a few days. I do know what gets posted here though. OF and coco problems.
