I need tips on a good cob build or a good cob light for all stages of growth

What would be a good build for a 4x4 tent preferably I would like to use single cobs places in different parts of the tent not the lights like the optic 2+ that only focus on one spot. I’m new to the cob culture, I use a mrhua 300 and it is preforming well but would like to be able to build my own light and a cheap cost

Cobs are great, but with strips and boards available now, they're the best option.

If your not familiar with the basics its worth checking out growmau5 on youtube and look for his 7 part series which explains everything.
Led gardener is great for strip builds, but the prices may have come down and the right selection of strip can mean you shave off most of the cost of heatsinking since its possible to use aluminium channel on each strip.

Timber sell amazing COB fixtures. COB kits sells DIY parts for COB rigs. these are US based so say if your from Europe.

Currently Horticultural lighting group are selling the v1 quantum boards for $29 a piece. I used to run two sets of two on twin heat sinks on 240w drivers in 4x4. Right now that's a damn good price. Again this is a US company.

I just build a Bridgelux gen 2 strip build from led gardener. The exact same as what’s shown in the link. @Airwalker16 posted. I love the light and because the GEN 2 strips are now not the Newwest thing on the market they are very good priced. Buy what he tells you with some aluminum angle stock and rivet it all together

Blux strips are good value for meny. Id suggest using them at nominal, even if it means using more strips: the gains you make with thermals are just worth it. You can run them with no heatsinks or just use selfadhesive tape if you run them at 700ma. Tapeing them is much quicker and easier work than rivets or screws.

Yup gen 2 without Heatsink is so cost effective right now

Have yet to use a Vesta, wouldn't know.
But yes, the EBs are fine at 1050 in the nude.
I used the mounting chanel closer to the middle of the strip for screws. I've had temporary setups with angle aluminum framing, where the ends of each strip was held on with thermal tape...not very secure, a little saggy...did that for spacing measurements.
I only have 560mm versions.

Some info on thermals here:

My rec is still 20w total per strip with minimal heatsinking, no screws just 3M doublesided tape. Around 240 in chip cost per 4x4 for a cracking fixture that will both veg and flower like a muthaf.... Thats around 4500 diodes, half that if running just one channel.

What would you ever run just one channel for though? Link to pics?

Sorry no pics. Id run one channel:
In order to go full 2700k for flower
Or if i was reaaaaally tight for height id throw 5k on the plants during stretch.
Both channels: flower looked the same as 3000k 80cri.
