i take cuttings from my plants 21 days in to flower and some times on chop down day, its still the mother plant

Making a cloner could save you 100s of $$$ :)
 
if you spill the beans on what you are doing with the clones then just maybe we can help, i did ask you to spill the beans but you give no info and now your telling me a plant in flower is not a mother plant mmmmmm some good smoke your on there mr :-/
 
Ok here ya go:
A. First check the plants you are cloning, make sure they are healthy, bug free, and do not have a disease like farsium.
B. Always wipe you scissors or blade with alcohol when taking clones from different plants.
C. Put some distilled water with a few drops of superthrive in clean cups.
D. Put freshly cut clones in these cups under low light for 24 hours so not to stress them.
E. Now fill a flat with a sheet of oasis cubes,50 cube sheets seem to work best, and wet them with distilled water with superthrive.
F. Use dip n grow rooting solution, and soak cuttings in this for couple of minutes.
G. Place them in the oasis cubes and pinch the cubes at the top to seal in cutting.
H. Spray the cuttings with distilled water and put the dome over them.
I. Set under lights, i use the perphery of my 1000 watter, but flouresence work ok.
J. Make sure your dome has vents that can be opened and closed.
K. Spay them with fresh water at least once a day, and make sure cubes dont dry out.
L. After about 3 days, start opening your vents some, but make sure plants dont dry out.

After 10 days or 2 weeks you should be rooted and ready to grow!

I was having the same problem. I did a necropsey on my failed clones and found that the rooting powder I was
using was drying into a rock-hard cap on the end of the stem. I switched to a rooting gel and the problem disappeared.

The EZ-CLoner is a good solution, but not really 100% foolproof. It's always that 2% group that gets ya.:o
Pros-
-When used as directed, results are pretty consistent, al least 85% success rate (for me anyways).
-Sturdy, long lasting design, built nice.
-Fairly quiet (compared to some I have researched/or heard first person.

Cons-
-Fairly large (even the 60 site one) cannot even imagine the 120 site model.:shock:
-Pump puts out A LOT of heat...and this transfers directly to the water. Water that climbs in temperature is BAD. You want 66-70 degree water if at all possible.
-Not cheap, but...you know the saying. You get what you pay for...
-Once filled with water (60 site holds about 13.5 gallons) it's REAL heavy and pretty much impossible to move.

Summary- Worth every penny I paid for it! And I'm really a DIY type of guy- so me, buying something that comes in a big box....speaks volumes. ;)

despite the fact that you are a human piece of excrement and an abortion or a person, i might try adding some vermiculite into the next batch, paired with less water.

i actually do want things to dry out a little quicker, but the perlite is not awesome at storing water so i have to soak it.

perhaps a perlite/vermiculite mix, which i have tried in the past to similar success, can do the trick.

I managed last time with the clones in Rockwool in the domes
but now I got them in jiffy pellets and they seem to hate it
So I would defo go back to Rockwool
and I am thinking I really do NOT like rooting 'powder' so am going to switch to gel.............
I want to win this Clone War!

I gota five gallon bucket and lid. Cut small holes to hold the clones. No cups or plugs. Used a cheap ass water pump with a home made venturi. Way better than an air stone because it oxygenated and creates current. I tried this after I went out and bought air pumps. Put that ina rubber maid tote with a 125 Watt cfl. Small duct fan sucking out and other hole with nothing for intake. All clones rooted. Even threw some away because I didn't have space to put them all in medium. Was thinking some were going to die but didn't. Second time cloning. First timei tried all the fancy shit and almost all died. There should be a picture in my gorilla grape post.

lol, clone wars.

i remember last summer, someone asked me how i take clones. so i did one right in front of him without rooting powder just to demonstrate concept. this was about a week after i just took a batch of them.

i left the proof of concept clone in the garage in almost no light expecting it to die. about a week later, i went to toss it and realized it had the meatiest root system of any clone i had ever taken. meanwhile, the batch i had taken a week earlier was sitting in the closet, still rooting, and took another week to establish roots.

clones are like women, they come to you more the more you ignore them.

denotatively, sure.

connotatively, no.

laws in my state require me to keep anything that is vegging under 12'', and no limit on size of flowerers. a mother is generally known as a plant you keep around vegging, not one that you flower and is gone.

and on chop down day, my plants are packed with buds, every branch. not a clone site on there that wouldn't take at least a month extra to reveg.

i have seen your grows, they are 5 foot tall plants with as much bud as my 2-3 foot tall plants, leggy as all get out. what you say does not really apply here, thanks for trying though.
