I think it is time to lose the HPS...

So I have been growing indoor with HPS (1000 watters) for going on years now. A couple years ago I moved to a new place and designed a new grow op. It is underground and very well insulated obviously but I keep having tons of issues with heat, especially during the summer months.. Winter is my prime time, for the best crops, but I also know this is the normal protocol everywhere in general.

I have very short head space. 6 ft ceilings until I can eventually put the time and funds in to dig out the floor deeper and patch it all back up. But I'm planning on doing that in a year or two.

So my question is, what type of light specifically between LED and CMH, should I transfer to? I have used the 315cmh as supplemental lighting before. Never used an LED period. I am old school and come from old school roots.. I'm not into building and customizing an LED myself, if I was to go with LED it would be ready to use right out of the box so I would need to know the most effective, efficient and affordable choice with that option. Same with the CMH? I am looking to replace the wattage of my 4 1000 watt hps lights to give me the same or even better yields as my current setup. I know CMH produce more heat than LED but it's still manageable in my case compared to the HPS I am currently using.

I was thinking for each 1000w hps, if I went with CMH to use 2 315w CMH per each 1000 watt hps to get things equivalent. But I honestly dont have a clue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am fixing to restart my next flower run within a couple of weeks and want to go ahead and have it purchased and setup.

6'ceilings must be a bitch, with hps how the hell do u do it?Id get a shovel and start digging.Plenty of info in the led section with this same question.

Are you in USA, Canada or elsewhere ?

Can give you some companies local to you for LED.

What area do you cover per 1000w hps at the moment?
Do you extract or run sealed rooms?

There is benefit to either cmh or LED but environmental factors come into play.
We tend to run higher temps with LED where with CMH you can run lower temps.
Depends on your summer to winter climate. Any idea on what your temps would be in your basement if you were not running 4000w in winter and summer?
