I think it's a wrap what do you think.

So my first grow and I messed up majorly should have read more before planting. First off they are Autoflowering and they were transplanted 3 times. 1 was light burned and they were both topped. None of which should happen with auto'show. I know that NOW...today is day 53 only 2 weeks and 3 days till the 70day end of the plant. Due to stress I don't think they are going to produce anything hu?

They aren't anywhere near ready. Give them 10-12 hours of dark time every day. I know they're autos, it will still help. You'll get some stash.

Patience, grasshopper...

What are in those reflectors?

Edit: also, I would try to train those shoots down so you can give the lights to the lower buds as well. Cfls don't offer much penetration. If you are going by 70 days because that's what the breeder says, that's probably not the case. I've never seen an auto finish in the 70 days they were supposed to. Granted, I haven't grown hundreds of packs, but I have taken all mine to over a hundred days. Like everyone else said, patience.

Thank you all for your feedback. This was truly a woke up one day and said I'm gonna grow some green type deal. Browsed around read a little and dove in. But I'm actually surprised they made it this far. I didn't know that they actually go past 70 days @prostheticninja I thought it was a 70 and done deal...lol...at least now I know autos have to be started and finished in 1 container and cannot be topped. Want to get me a photoperiod seed do I can top at least twice. As for the lights I know they are not right but there are 2 100watt equivalent cfls over each plantern and then 2 more 100 watt eq in the middle of the 2. Should I do something different if using cfls?

Yep, the lack of planning always comes back to bite us! Been there myself, more times than I care to admit.

The 70 days: yeah, that's just a marketing ploy lol. You could harvest at 70 days, and you could harvest as soon as they break ground, but that's doesn't mean you should. Let those babies plump up for you; let them show you their bad self :fire:

As far as a resign goes, I would definitely rearrange your setup. I used to grow with CFLS, but never less than 160 watts (actual watts, not equivalence) per plant. What I would do, if I were you, is I would tie down your shoots so they run horizontal with the medium. This might take a few days then. For your lights, I would take a thin board, and drill a hole through it big enough for your sockets to fit through. Once the socket is in the hole, Liquid Nails it in. I would then do that with the rest of the sockets in a row down the board, and hang it up. I would put the plants below that, along the bar in a line. If you can mount some type of reflector on the sides, so all the light is thrown down as well, you will be in business.

I would do this, because if they were trained out to be flat, all the buds are getting pretty equal light and you arent fucking with the inverse square law as badly. Also, because then what Plant A doesn't take in as far as over cast of light, Plant B takes in. Now, you are just throwing light all over the place.

Also, yeah, the transplant info is legit, but you can top an auto. Its kinda like "experts only" though. The trick is to get them like literally the day you can top them. The sooner before flower, the better.

I would go with a photo next time if you can accommodate it. I started with autos, and then grew one photo. Never growing autos inside again lol.

Same lol, I dont grow autos anymore either. Not worth the extra 6 hours on my HPS bulb/ ballast lol.. or energy bill. But they can still produce some sticky icky

So technically I can use CFLS just need more? You seem extremely knowledgeable wish I had you here in person...lol...so just 1 thin board with extra bulbs to add up to 160 actual watts. What do you suggest to use for reflectors. I only have those 2 right now they were brooding lights but I took those red bulbs out and added a duel socket.

You have some time before they are ready looking at the pic but, yes for sure get more cfl's in and around the bottom of your plant mix up 6500 and 2700 k :bigjoint:

Yep! You can definitely use cfls and get a decent harvest, but you are probably using two, 23 watt bulbs per plant. You ain't going to pull much from under that.

What I did, was I bought 110w CFLs. I mounted three of them horizontally inside of an Adjusta Wing, and called that good. Most I grew under them was two autos, as it was better to train out one photo under the light. Yours will definitely still work though, just gotta put them all together so there is way more light being thrown down to your plants.

What I would recommend for a reflector would be an old wing reflector cut in half, and then screwed into the board. Although, if you are hurting for funds, go pick up an aluminum turkey pan from Walmart; it's like 97¢.

Like Tone said too, get some light to those bottom nugs. Probably easiest to train them horizontally (go slow, nothing sucks worse than breaking a big, flowering, branch).

Do you have photo seeds? If you are hoping to run a photo or two on your next grow, you should pop them now and let them start vegging. Maybe put them under the brood reflectors? If you are vegging with small amounts of CFL, you won't have a very rapid veg, so it will be nice to get a few weeks of a head start, ya know? Start training them, mainline them, and then when your autos finish, you can those those babies right into flower. That's what I would do.

Also, as far as having a meeting of the minds, all you have to do is say you got pizza coming and I'm half tempted to fire up the Buick lol. If you want to see my old setup, I could probably find some pics.

Oh, definitely. If you didn't have to worry about plant count, it would be cool to have like three in a veg tent just to fuck around with, but a monocrop is not worth it inside.

Still love autos though. Fun little plants to grow, and they have their place outside.

Yes if you have any avail I would love to see them. Don't have any photo seeds yet. Do you know any place for us delivery where you could purchase singles I want like 3 different kinds..lol...

Check out Choice Seed Bank. They have quite a selection of pick and mixes and good freebies too. But, last time I ordered from them was almost three weeks from paying to having my beans in hand. Not cool!

Only went with them because they had promos from most of the companies I wanted to run. Usually use Seedsman, but they don't have as extensive of a pick and mix.

I'll find the pics; hold up.

You should put a reflector over those bulbs so you they throw the light down. It can be hard to get a reflector that does the job, but this is my set up: image.jpg

As you may or may not be able to see, there is a red wire that runs down the center of my reflector. That wire supports my lights and holds them up. How that happens is that I thread the wire through the more rectangular opening below the spiral. It hangs the CFL bulb very nicely and it is impossible (unless the glass snaps in half) for your light to fall. Using insulated, copper, wire ensures that it will never break or fray. You can also find wire that is rated for much higher temperatures than the surface of a CFL bulb so you do not have to worry about a potential fire hazard.

My reflector is just a simple aluminum wing-style reflector that I got when I bought my 400 hps. It just so happens that this reflector fits perfectly in my current grow cabinet. Anyway, this reflector has two holes on each side that are like a colon ( : ). In these holes I have tightened a zip tie to act like sort of like a tie down point. image (1).jpg

That tie down point does two things: it allows me to attach the hook for my ratchet pulleys; and it gives me something to wrap the supportive wire around so I can zip tie it to itself after I wrap it a few times.

I can't really recommend a certain type of reflector or anything if you decide to do this, but I recommend the method of reflection whole heartedly.
My post where I explain my lighting setup. I was vegging at the time, so the three 110s weren't in there. I think it's an 80w and two 26s'.

OK great. Do you have an email I can email you at?

So for vegging you were using an 80 and 2 - 26s then the 3 - 110s for flowering?
Sorta. I started off with three 26s', then the 80 and the two 26s' until I switched to flower. Then it was the three 110s. Didn't really have a heat issue either, with the exhaust fan kicking.

As for email, you can always pm me on the forum. However, I will saythat I am known to frequently use this screenname, and am a fan of Hotmail, as well:bigjoint:
