"Original Stash" has 12% to 18% THC and sells for only $4.49/gram, making it the lowest priced cannabis product on both the legal and illegal market. It might sound too good to be true, but HEXO's "Original Stash" sells for only $125.70/ounce.
Conducting my very own and highly unofficial survey, I discovered that on average, people pay between $160-$180/ounce on the black market. That has a potential of over $50 in savings and in this economy, savings are crucial.
According to HEXO's CEO Sebastien St-Louis, "Original Stash" intends to "compete directly with the illicit market and will provide consumers with an affordable, controlled, quality product."
Black market dealers take note - after a year of legalization, the government has finally figured out how to sell weed. Now might be the time to take that business class, my friend.
So, to celebrate legalization day, I decided to try out "Original Stash" and give you my honest opinion. Shout out to my roommate David for braving the lines and coming through with the bag.
Before I pour into this, here's some context about your kindly reviewer. I've been an (almost) daily smoker for about 8 years. I enjoy smoking in the evening more than in the daytime. Typically, I skew towards a Sativa with stronger THC content due to my high tolerance.
With all that in mind, here's what's up with HEXO Corp.'s "Original Stash."
The Packaging

The first thing you'll notice about "Original Stash" is its sleek black packaging. A step up from your dealer's dollar store zip lock bags, the packing is triple-lined plastic and is totally smell-proof. Along with the requisite safety disclaimer, there's not much else to it other than the branding.
I've tried many SQDC products and honestly, if they had this kind of simple packaging for all of their products, they'd cut down on so much waste. We're also still waiting for that plastic container deposit, SQDC... Any day now, please.
Be warned, there's a little trick to opening these bags. A child safety tab on the back of the bag must be held onto before you can open the zip lock or else you'll rip the lining and ruin the bag (which almost happened to me).
Despite that, I'm giving this packaging 5 Cheeches out of 5 Chongs.
