If Prop 19 passes I will join the rebel alliance.

yeah and it definitely could not too..

18-21yrs old is the largest demographic of weed smokers, do you really think we need more youth in jail for marijuana related offenses?
right now an 18-21yr old has a pretty easygoing time in california as a stoner\patient\grower; 100$ ticket for posession, no jail, and if possessing a medical card nothing to worry about at all.

prop19 will target that demographic.
this bill is absolutely not an end to prohibition, it would earmark the beginning of more prohibited times.
i dont understand how people can argue that "it would be better than what the laws are now" and "ending prohibtion"
wake up folks
Please show me where prop 19 says an 18-20 yr old caught with cannabis does jail time. While you're at it show me where prop 19 takes away the right of an 18-20 medical patients rights to grow or posses cannabis.

Truth is prop 19 says none of those things. It only says it's illegal to knowingly sell/give cannabis to an 18-20 year old. Even if you were to somehow get caught selling to an 18 year old the burden is on law enforcement to prove that you knew in advance that person was under 21.

If you don't believe me here is the text on the subject directly from prop 19.

Every person 21 years of age or over who knowingly furnishes, administers, or gives, or offers to furnish, administer or give, any marijuana to a person aged 18 years or older, but younger than 21 years of age, shall be punished by imprisonment in the county jail for a period of up to six months and be fined up to $1,000 for each offense.
The fact still remains, prop 19 can potentially lead to full legalization. It's the best chance we've ever had to end prohibition. To throw that chance away because you don't like a few minor details is insanity. There is no guarantee we will get this chance again.

If you think prohibition is a good policy that's fine, I just disagree with that.

i don't see whats so hard about this it tells you right here in prop19 for 215 nothing changes (((((( except as permitted under Health and Safety Sections 11362.5 and 11362.7 through 11362.9 this part is about prop215)))))) the key wording here is except as permitted under Health and Safety Sections 11362.5 and 11362.7 through 11362.9 CAN SOME ONE THAT SEES HOW IT WILL CHANGE 215 PLEASE SHOW ME with facts and not just hear say as i just gave you facts ... i would like to see for my self as well......... here is a link to the NORML word for word analysis of prop19 http://stash.norml.org/californias-prop-19-a-word-for-word-analysis (((( Together we stand Divided we all fall))))

with that said; why would i support something that comes with a bunch of strings attached when im already smooth sailing under 215?
.
And you mean having to go through doctors and payments to get a card and then pretend it's all for a medicinal reason is nice and clean, no strings attatched?

Near all the negative points for this bill are based around current growers who don't want to have to work in a competitive market. Little more. They can continue growing just as they do now, just suddenly there is someone else to push the prices down. You honestly think that prices don't need to come down? You charge $20/gram, that's about as selfish and greedy as it gets considering you're growing under a medical license.

The only other point made against prop 19 seems to be the 1 ounce limit, yet the bill clearly explains what this means, and is basically that you can only take an ounce out and about with you, but you can store as much as you can fit in your grow space, i mean what citizen, not about to go make a big sale, walks around with more than an ounce in their back pocket?

this is for all the 215 Collective and growers if Prop 19 does not pass the federal state and
local governments ((DEA)) will have a green light to step up prosecution again. this means the DEA will have a field day with you so get your head out of your pockets and in the job at hand this prop will help you not hurt you
We need to send a message this November no more prosecution of any one for cannabis be it medical or not!!!! prop19 is to save your butt and mine

Also it can't be stated enough that the 1 ounce limit is the minimum. Cities and counties can increase that limit as high as they want. Although I can't think of a reason anyone other than dealers need to carry an ounce with them.

I'm sure a lot of plantation owners huffed and puffed the same way you are when slavery was ending and they would have to pay people to work their fields. I'm sure they came up with all the reasons why freeing slaves would destroy our communities, our way of life, and our future. I'm sure they thought they shouldn't have to lose out just because the government wanted to harm its population less.

In case the link don't work here ya go.

From the Family of Jack Herer, author of The Emperor Wears No Clothes

Van Nuys, California, August, 2010

Dear Friends of Hemp and Cannabis,
Our father, Jack Herer, was a man of leadership, compassion and idealism. He worked relentlessly for decades to achieve his dream of legalizing Cannabis hemp in all its forms, personal, medical and industrial. He wanted Cannabis to be free and open, and to be given full respect for its enormous economic, environmental and cultural benefits.
As an idealist, Jack was adverse to half measures. He originally opposed Prop 215 because it stopped at medical use only. He initially opposed Senate Bill 420 because it set limited quantities as a safe harbor. Over time, however, he came to appreciate the freedoms they created, and took pride in the role he played in inspiring those changes. Jack’s great fear about Prop 215 and SB 420 was that people would accept those limits, become complacent and stop working for full legalization. He feared we would be stuck with medical use forever.
Likewise, Jack railed against Tax Cannabis 2010, now Proposition 19, and its plan for limited legalization and local authority to tax and regulate marijuana sales to adults 21 and above. It falls far short of what he wanted. Jack ‘wanted it all,’ and Prop 19 is just a part of that dream. Unfortunately, Jack passed away before Prop 19 made the 2010 ballot; so many people think he would still oppose it. We don’t believe that, and we ask that everyone stop saying he would cling to that position as we move toward the Nov. 2 vote.
As his family, we want the world to know that the last thing Jack Herer would want is for Californians to vote to keep Cannabis illegal. He was smart and had the political savvy to know that once a measure is on the ballot, the time for bickering has passed. That is why he campaigned for Prop 215 despite its shortcomings. That is why, were he able, he would now be telling voters to rally around and Vote Yes on Prop 19.
Does that mean he would want everyone to stop and be happy with the modest changes that Prop 19 affords? Absolutely not! What Jack would want us to do right now is to support Prop 19, and come Nov. 3 he would be right back again, telling you to renew your commitment to bring a comprehensive California Hemp and Health Initiative to the voters in 2012 or some future date. Jack Herer would ask – no, he would demand your yes vote on Prop 19, along with a pledge to continue fighting for the plant, the people and the planet.
It is true that Prop 19 does not fulfill our father’s dream; but it takes us much closer to achieving it than we are now, and for that reason we, his family, endorse Prop 19 today.
Please vote yes on Prop 19 Nov 2, but do it with the dedication to keep working toward complete legalization in Jack’s honor.
Sincerely, Dan Herer et al.

i dont get why you pro prop 19 people want the government to have even more control of one of the last remaining things that is in the hands of the people. pay 100 bucks go get a card and that is that. your legal. why hand over this weed world that we all love so much to big time corporations and the california government. i mean come on, look at how bad this government has fucked this state up already and now you want them to streamline weed for there benefit, you know damn well that the money that is revenued by the state from prop 19 wont be put to good use, those pot holes in your street wont get fixed, the education system is still gonna be fucked, so on a so forth.

i dont know about you guys but smoking weed to me is like a big fuck you to our corrupt government, and now you guys just want to embrace uncle sams rule over our beloved ganja?

i already know im gonna get quoted by some people calling me a dumbass and trying to give me reasons on why this bill is soooo good, and how i dont know what im talking about, but in the end i really dont care, because the people that are gonna hate are the people i wouldnt share a blunt with in the first place. so you can go ahead and piss up a rope and suck on the wet end!

if it does get passed all you prop 19 advocates can go down to the mini mart and grab you factory processed shit while im keeping it real solid with my homegrown, stupid fire, tasty stiiiiiicky iiiicky. im not gonna give a single dime to those big corporations.

all this prop 19 shit reminds me a a very famous saying. "If it isnt broken, dont fix it". ive been pulled over with a qp in my whip, handed him my cannabis card and got handed back all my shit and told have a nice day. now thats what i call a good system.

to all you real smokers and cultivaters out there who say fuck no to prop 19. im taking a hit for you right now!

VOTE NO ON PROP 19 AND SAVE THIS COMMUNITY THAT WE ALL LOVE AND ADORE.

More control? Prohbition is the highest level of government control that exists. Prop19 can help end that and yet it's a "higher level of government control"? Sorry, not buying that at all.

f it does get passed all you prop 19 advocates can go down to the mini mart and grab you factory processed shit while im keeping it real solid with my homegrown, stupid fire, tasty stiiiiiicky iiiicky. im not gonna give a single dime to those big corporations.
Ummm, no. There will be no buds sold at the minimart. Buds will be sold through dispensaries. No one will be forcing you to buy buds from big corporations.

man you guys are some weirdos, instead of making money and trying to survive this depression youd rather give your money to someone else. your saying we dont want it to pass becasue youl loose money. and yea your right i will! and im not trying to have that happen, why would i wanna loose money and let big factory grows get all the greenery, fuck that.

i just dont get it mayne. and yea i grow weed to smoke for free and make money. doesnt everybody, i mean honestly who harvests 2 ps and smokes all of it to the neck.

Who am I going to give my money too and how would I be giving it to them?

Where it prop 19 does it say only monopolies can start their for profit cannabis growing/selling companies?

ok ok i wont say you specifically arent gonna loose money, but what about small cash crop growers?
Yep. That's me. And I'm not going to lose any money. I've already formed my own corporation and talked to my county board of supervisors. When prop 19 passes, I'll be good to go. I'm no multimillionaire, I'm not going to do some insane multimillion dollar mega grow. I'm just your average medical grower starting up a small business. No evil mega-corps are coming to shut me down.

what you dont even like humbolt or medicino county? your like fuck them and there livelyhood, your like you dont even like nice beaches and redwoods?
Sure I do. I'm up in humboldt several times a month. Do you really think everyone in humboldt will suddenly stop growing weed if prop 19 passes? Will they need less trimmers or growers? no. If anything they'll need more.

Anyone with half a brain can go form their own legal cannabis company under prop 19. If some growers are too stupid to figure out how or too lazy to do it, that is their problem, not mine.
