Hello guys) I need your advice!
I can grow only in 0.6x0.6 m tent. Electricity in my country is very expansive! So i able to use maximum 2 or 3 x CXB3590 in my DIY panel...
Is this possible to use 1 CXB3590 with 1 driver. I want to buy 2 CXB3590 and use them as 2 separate lighting spots with 2 separate drivers. Each COB should to work in 100-110Watt mode. If this possible, please tell me what driver is better to buy?
Thanks! Peace )

Hey. I have the same size tent and i'm using 4 CXB 3590's driven at close to 50 watts each. 1 driver pr COB, cheap generic driver 87% efficient bought on eBay. It's close to overkill of light in such a small space, but so far so good.
If you plan on driving your COB's at around 100 watts, then you're better off using Vero 29's. They're cheaper than CXB3590 and pretty much equally efficient when driven that hard. CXB3590 is boss when driven at 50 and below watts. Efficiency drops significantly the harder you push them. You could also end up with problems managing heat in a small space like that if you drive the COB's as hard as you propose. Best of luck with your build and grow :)

Bonjour
You should consider cxa2530 @500mA X 9 (8 $ piece!)
Or if you really want to drive cobs hard (softer you drive it better it is for efficiency! ) you should fallow the previous advice...go for Vero29 (23 $)

Hello im getting ready to do a cob build. But i want to ad some single uv and ir diodes . i want one of each to go with each cob. I plan on using 12 cxb 3590 w 2 meanwell 240 h c-1050a drivers. I wanna run 2 ir and 2 uv per cob. So that would be 48 either 3 or 5 watt single uv and ir diodes. My question is what kind of driver should i use for the single diodes. And what are the best diodes to use?

Ok, so I have been doing research and pricing LED components heavily the last couple days and I need some help. I was an electronics tech back in the air force and I feel like I more or less know whats going technically, as far as putting them together. I mean, I think I can figure that part out. I will probably have questions, actually..

Point of post being, I need some help. I know myself, and I don't want to spend the next 3 days researching the long history of LED parts and drivers and boost drives etc on the computer. I will get fucking obsessed and I am already getting weird looks from the gal concerning my most recent internet binge. A lot of you guys have been doing this shit for years now and you know these part numbers like the back of your hand, I beseech you to assist me. I will smoke you out upstate NY! So this is my space...

100_0778.JPG

Basement flower box. Its 3 x 3-5' depending on the height. I have been using a 400W HPS down here thus far..

100_0684.JPG

I will be in this space for another few months, I am now doing my last grow here for awhile, at least two years. I have also recently acquired an almost identical space which is just waiting on me. I want to make a light that is 3'x3' in size, with 9 100w cobs, dimmable .

9 cobs. Id like to be able to use it a lower brightness in a smaller space 35-40% eff, but also raise it a foot or two if I need to and thus run the led's @ 70% as needed. Is there a driver that fit my needs? Cobs? Also, I would like to keep the lights usage under 300 kwh/month, like 250 would be better, thats @ 12/12.

That's it really. I'd like to do this as cheaply as possible so of course cause I am a broke ass college student trying to live off the GI Bill. is there a easy or cheap DIY heatsink you can think of? I am open to vendor suggestions as well if you know a place.

UV diodes are too expensive...look for reptiles uv cfl!
As for 730nm it is to use 10mn at light off to shorten bloom and be able to run light 13.5/10.5 I suppose!
You will only need one per ft2 (1w)!

Hello all, I'm looking to do a single plant scrog for my next grow.

I'll be growing in coco coir mixed with perlite.

Basic nutrients will be used, Dyna-Gro Green, Dyna-Gro Bloom, and Cal-Mag.

My tent is 2x2x5 and I have a 125W 6700K CFL for supplemental light. (Should I need it.)

I'm looking at http://www.amazon.com/Galaxyhydro-Greenhouse-Indoor-Hydroponic-Lighting/dp/B00PH1MQV8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1455754691&sr=8-1&keywords=galaxyhydro for my tent.

My budget is $150. I'm set on this light but would welcome second opinions and suggestions.

It is a mars led light...it will grow weed but if you already pull a good amount of weed with an hps(0.7/0.8gpw in soil) you will he disappointed to pull only 0.5gpw despite all you will do!
So if very light crops are not a concern and electricity is cheap in your area don't think about cxb or vero cob (more than gpw lights) just go with crappie blurple chinese led and come back in a few month to open a thread to told everyone not to buy this piece of shit.....
Go in diy section and for 150$ you will make a better light than you ever dreamed of!

It's not a Mars light, GalaxyHydro. The idea of building my own is tempting but that would be quite the challenge, I have no experience in the area.

OK so here is my plan, and wanted to run it by community before I order. Hows this price point? Just to get into this with my current budget I am thinking 3 of these..

http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/201522973604?ul_noapp=true&chn=ps&lpid=82

And this thing..

http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Mean-Well/HLG-120H-C700B/?qs=%2bmCJZPMmHFMz0p7%2bjcolCQ==

This light is going to used for flowering, are these the best cobs for that?

I am definitely open to suggestions for heat sinks. Was going to get 3 of these?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/90-120-44mm-Lens-Reflector-Bracket-20-100W-LED-Aluminium-Heat-Sink-Cooling-Fan-/261563847978

and then just maybe bars or just a large sheet of aluminum to attach it all too or will hang each indivually. Again, open to suggestions and if I am posting this in the wrong place, please advise.. Want to order this weekend sometime.

Thanks.

Don't buy from that source $40 for shipping for only 3 cobs is not a deal. Look at cutter.au I'd say Kingbrite but you are only buying a few.

Yeah, 40 bucks, if I buy three dont really see how its different than the other prices Ive seen for that cob, and I already have an ebay account.

The difference is going to be huge...for the same price you will have holders and reflector...and shipping is 12 $ I guess!
And if you have any problems you will have a guarantee!
