I'm in the weeds

I haven't read the whole thread but that's exactly what mine used to look like when I watered with RO.

I'm on well water and that stuff rocks for seedlings. RO has nothing in it. Zero.

No it doesn't. But a lack of the necessary ingredients a plant needs will kill any plant.

If you don't add anything to your soil to replace the trace nutrients and minerals, it won't help. We make Boreal Powerplant. If you used it, you could water with RO or distilled water and you'd be fine.

So, I basically have a black thumb, but a real desire to grow. I bought a tent kit and started my first 2 seeds about a month ago. I am having problems controlling the temp (too high) and humidity (too low). I am on a 18 hour light on, and 6 hours off. My little plants have not grown at all in the last few weeks and the leaves are tipping downward and the leaf color is not right. I don't know if I am watering enough or too much. Overthinking can be a recipe for disaster so I thought I would join up and see if folks more experienced than me could offer up some tips. The seeds are feminized skunk, using coco coir, watering every few days with distilled water and have not used any nutrients yet. The seedlings are about 25 inches away from my LED light. What type of light are you using? Wattage may be to high. Try raising to 34 inches above. I had same problem where they were like runts but as soon as I raised the lighting and gave a VERY light feeding with some Jobes plant spikes they started perking up. I'm 2 months into the grow and having to Low Stress Train my ass off. Also now am using Miracle Grow. But I popped beans that were over ten years old. No big loss if they produce or not just trying to get everything ready for the new grow with GG#4 autos and Skittles Auto. Good luck and don't get down and out. Practice makes perfect.

Tap is a thousand times better than distilled due to the fact that distilled ph is usually around 5.

also hydrophobic soil is where your soil is not absorbing the water and more less pushing it away throughout the container out the bottom. Usually runoff imminently is a result of that.
But what about the chloramine that is in the water? Is that a concern since it doesn't dissipate naturally? I just want to make sure I make their situation better instead of worse. Yesterday I filled up 5 gallon jugs with water and put them in the utility room with the caps off. I figure tomorrow I will check the PH and make adjustments to get them where they need to be. Is a range between 5.8-6.5 a good range to work with?

Still plugging away. I think I got some nitrogen burn. Tips clawed a little and the very tips got a little burned looking but I have watered the last several times with water. Just changed my light cycle to 12/12. Figured I better not press my luck. 20211005_175507.jpg

Thanks y'all. That is my worry right now. I seriously don't think my tent is tall enough. My lights will only raise up another 2 feet...maybe.

Thanks ooof-da. I have worried over these plants for the last 2 months. I have tried my best not to bug them too much. I tend to love my plants to death...literally.

Ya they tend to consume us. I love gardening of all types and this particular plant is pretty fun to grow. GL

Yeah it really is. Last time I grew plants was in the 70's. Knew nothing about it and grew 4 plants in the closet with a shop light on a pully over the clothes rod. Plants were (unbeknownst to me) all males. You would have gotten a better buzz holding your breath. Bought an ISO2 conversion cone to turn it into hash. Needless to say, after damned near blowing up the bedroom, it was no better than before I used it.
