I'm watching the Twighlight movies for the first time- I never saw them before, I'm halfway through The second one now.

Can you guys not undersatnd that maybe it's being watched for the lulz?

Lol, I'm not really having a go, but we all know the deal with Twilight and other non badman things- being the first to point it out isn't that necessary or amazing.

It is pure, shameless fanservice. But it is a fantasy series and yes it does pander to the needs of a suprisingly large demographic of women.There's some kicks for the men aswell, in the parts less centered on Bella's internal dialogue and the actual story.

On one hand I almost wish Bella WAS an airheaded girl next door, because her clumsiness and the way she argues with Edward make me cringe occassionally. I catch myself silently going 'damn it woman just do as your told and stop being a whiny bitch'. On the other, it is nice that she is far from perfect. Not because I want to empathise or anything, I just dislike shallow girly girls.

Twilight is what it is, it's actually the rabid fans/extreme haters that turn it into this subject of both real life and internet conflict. I'm not sure which is uglier.

It is self indulgent, but aren't all novels in some way?

As a member of the otherkin community, however, I can't count the amount of people I had to whack with the banhammer because they joined the forums declaring 'I WATCHED TWILIGHT AND DISCOVERED I AM A PURPLE VAMPIRE WEREWOLF HYBRID REINCARNATED PRINCE' or something like that. Ugh.

No, I'm just
doing date night with myself, I like to do things like take myself out to dinner or watch a romantic comedy and sit in my snuggie before rubbing one out at the end of the night, it makes it seem more romantic and I like to play hard to get so I don't feel like a slut.
