Indica Vs Sativa - Best Strain

This thread is not about what you prefer smoking so please don't opine on that.

That being said, in terms of maximum indoor production and marketability, would you recommend Indica, Satliva or a cross?

Also, what is your favorite strain for the above purpose and from which bank did it come?

Again, please don't comment on what you prefer to smoke or what buzz you prefer. Keep this about production and marketability.

Who makes up your clientele? Do they want and expect the very best and are capable of paying for it? Are they mid-level income people who want and can afford good but not the best? Are they low income people who are just grateful to have something to smoke regardless of quality?

Depending on your customer's expectations and abilities should be what you base your decision on as to what to grow.

No matter how good something is if it is out of the price range of your clientele you chose the wrong thing to grow. If you grow something that is not up to the standards of your customer base then you chose the wrong thing to grow.

You need to consider what will be best for you to grow based on your customers and be less concerned about what may be best for others to grow based on their customers.

Well here is just a thought, some outdoor growers wont grow certain sativas because of their long flowering times that will go too far into fall, rain mold etc...
but indoors you dont have to worry about it, and you dont have to pull a sativa before it truly finishes, you can let it go till its ready, anyways you can grow both, thats what I would do...have variety lol

I agree with what Brick Top, Satch and ZZZ said, and since they said it I'll just play the game.

I don't grow commercially, but if I did I would want to sell smaller amounts to up scale clients (for more money) - less work, less exposure, less risk. And we'd want to smoke the bud we grow to sell, so personal stash would be easier.

I'd look for extreme potency and flavor, don't play around with a Juicy Fruit and get a bushel of great tasting bud that will get you mildly relaxed. When I bought bud I wanted potency, I didn't know about the types of highs - just potency.

The flavor, while being enjoyable while smoking, will give your clients prestige with their friends. Ups the value.

Here's my picks, though I could give you 10 excellent sets off the top of my head without ever using the same strain twice. If I did this list tomorrow I'd probably pick one or two different strains. I passed over fantastic strains like Kali Mist & Jack Herer because of the long flower period. AK47 was hard to pass over for sativa. Serious Bubblegum is such a phenominal strain it would fly off the shelves. So many great strains.

.

Indica - Blue Moonshine - DJ Short - Attitude:

The "Blue" version of the "White" family (White Widow, etc). A super potent blueberry Indica, coated with a strong concentration of tall standing trichomes. Produces a very narcotic experience - body high blueberry. Short, stout kush plants that produce dense, tight, rock hard nuggets of trichome coated bud.

.

Flavor - Jillybean - MZjill (Subcool(TGA) - Cannaseur: Tastes so much like Dreamcicles you won't believe it. Flavors range from Orange, Tang, Candy, Mango, and Apple. High type-Happy, mood enhancing, humorous, energetic. Extremely up beat and happy buzz great for depression and bad days.

.

Sativa - Jack The Ripper -
Subcool (TGA) - Attitude: Super potent: High type-Intense, trippy, visual, phase shifting, increased heart rate, heavy crash increased appetite, pain relief, paranoia. Taste Like: Lemon mango pine hash with a heavy haze influence. Some say the best 8 week sativa in the world.

Naw Shepj, I just copy and paste. I keep links to pages online, quick and easy to get the info. It's formatting the post so its easy to read that takes a few minutes.

Rick I had to think a while before picking Blue Moonshine over Endless Sky for the indica: 42 days flower; 400-500 g/m2 sog; some say the most potent indica they've smoked. You could churn this stuff out and still charge top dollar for it, cannaseur smoke. Blue Moonshine has the taste and narcotic stone to go along with it's potency, but has a touch longer flower period and less yield than Endless Sky.

I've read that sativa strain is more for outdoor use because it's skinnier and stretchier and the grow/flower period is longer. Indicas are more suited for indoor growth because they take up less room, being short and squatty, have larger leaves to absorb artificial light and don't take as long to flower.

Hypothetically. let's suppose a guy is growing for people who only want the best and have the means to pay for it.

Considerations would be: Potency, bag appeal, flavor, short growing period and heavy yield.

While I have noticed that many Cannabis Cup winners are Sativas, I don't think the people producing that strain face the same challenges as a small scale indoor grower. A number of these strains are looking like great candidates. I like that they list the THC content and the yield per sq meter.

If you think about it, everything we know is simply copy and pasted from one source to another. So you doin that does not reduce the value :-D

Because light diminishes with the square of the distance, anything over about 18" means you are losing productivity unless you do a SCROG grow which I'm not all that fond of.

I could be wrong but it just seems that your more Indica heavy strains are better producers. Also, I think most people really like the deep stone that you get with the Indicas - but I could be wrong.

Rick here's a pic of my version of scrog, I call it a CCOB - Crop Circle Of Bud. Just bending the stem around the rim of the bucket and letting every branch grow up like a top cola. Basical a screenless scrog for those of us who want to move plants around during flower.

You can grow a 6' sativa in 1.5 sq ft and 18" high, increase your yield and shorten flower time. And the potency off all the buds will be the same, no more bottom popcorn buds.

.

Double topped Serious Bubblegum (sativa pheno) twin stems vegged to 26" and 24", then wrapped around the bucket.

.

This is the same plant a week later, stems wired to the bucket rim.

.

A side view of a Super Strawberry Diesel with colas 18" - 20". I expect the Bubblegum to have twice the colas, very branchy.

I think you could be right ;) lol
I know I love a deep body stone more than a up-high...some sativas dont really even make me feel high...

These three have became my favorite and the site is reliable to.
WW, NL, and Crystal you cant go wrong.

Crystal - Chrystal is a White Widow hybrid that has been re-back-crossed with Northern Light. Two world-famous marijuana strains! Its big sticky buds give off an almost kerosene-like aroma and produce a quick-hitting high. An F1 hybrid, Chrystal produces outstanding yields of top quality grass. Its plants are much easier to manicure than White Widow. Chrystal was a first place winner of the Dutch Highlife Cup ( a renowned marijuana competition) in 2002.

Northern Light - Northern Light is a marijuana strain which is highly suited to indoor growing. Nearly all promising modern indoor cannabis strains contain Northern Lights genes. With its high flower-to-leaf ratio, compact buds, good yields and exceptional resin production, these wonderful marijuana seeds are a most lucrative choice for the indoor cannabis grower. The smoke's flavour is somewhat neutral, yet full-bodied.
Indica / Sativa: Hybrid
Plant type: Indoor as well as Outdoor
Plant height: Short
Effect: High (head trip) yet stoned (body buzz)
Flavour: fruity / smooth

White Widow - In the mid-1990s, a cannabis legend was born. Almost overnight, White Widow appeared on the menu of just about every coffeeshop in the Netherlands. This marijuana masterpiece went on to become a yardstick against which all other “white” marijuana strains are held up. Marijuana seeds of the White Widow strain grow into tall plants with delicate arms. Her buds are moderately compact in order to contain the copious amounts of THC resin she produces. Tending toward the Cannabis Sativa side, White Widow produces a buzz that is powerful yet energizing and very social.

Indica / Sativa: Hybrid

Flavour: herbal / pine
Average yield: 325 - 425 (g/m² in SOG)

I would highly reccommend this strain to anyone this strain is amazing "Great White Shark" Besides being the top strains I personally have sampled it is a offbreed of the infamous White Widow

Great White Shark
Taste: The fruitiness of the Indicas with a strong presence of the widow and skunk tastes.
Smell: A rich fragrance of flowers and fruits with the odour of a White Shark.

Visuals: Orange haired fullness of the super skunk that glistened in the crystal rain of its widow father origins.
Touch: The thick, densely crystallized cola are sticky and solid -just like the original parents.

Stone: Seductive high feeling, that has the streng th of the jaws of his namegiver.
Family Heritage: A cross between a Super Skunk and a White Widow.

Vegetative Time: For indoors a suggested minimum of 2 ? 4 weeks. For outside germinate May or by the end of spring.
Flowering Time: For indoors a suggested time of 8 weeks. For outside, it will be ready early autumn. A substantial yield will be expected.

Achievements: 2nd - Place - BIO-Award 1997, 2nd - Place - Cannabis Cup 1997 ? Green House Seed Co. seedbank catalog.
