Indoor Grow Tents...

Newbie here, just had my first great outdoor grow this season, now Im really interested in buying a grow tent for my room to grow two plants over the fall and winter.

Any suggestions where to buy a good one online?

Ebay often has cheaper ones than amazon but amazon sometimes have better quality ones I think the best way to go is find a hydro shop and go look at them all built up with the lights, you might even be able to get on with a bit of discount!!!!

Amazon and ebay I just started my grow most of it's off amazon but the fantech filter I got off ebay for $50 less than amazon but everything else came off amazon some from them and some from 3rd party hydro shops. You have to shop around! They'll beat the local grow shops by 30% but my dirt I go local.

....I've found allot on Amazon, and I think I have my basics and my tent picked out that Im gonna go with.
It'll be a learning curve putting it together. Good ol' Youtube always helps out in that department most of the time.
Im excited! Thanks for the suggestions! If you think of anything else don't hesitate to drop it here, even if you think its basic, cause Im VERY basic at this, never having any experience with a grow tent before

Secret Jardin is a good brand of tent. I still use my dr90 for veg even though I have built in cabinets & a dedicated flower room now. Was looking at Gorilla brand tents at my local hydro store & they look dope too- I'd look into those first if I was in the market today. I have bought cheap tents which work ok but they leak light and are usually thin & flimsy. That cheapo tent is now used as a drying room so not a total loss but I got hermies from light leaks when I tried to bloom out in it. Get the best you can afford. Good luck & happy growing

Jessa I'll part with a piece of unsolicited advice just for your fyi, on my first grow these were the fatal mistakes that I made . I'll tell you my set up, in the hopes that you will be more successful than I was at my first indoor grow. (Actually that was the first time I grew anything other than a beard ) I was growing in a5x5x6.5 grow tent located in barn on a remote piece of property in N. Ala. Mountains. The barn was never built with the intention of being cooled with an air conditioner. I put the tent in a 10 x 10 room and turned on the AC. My light system was a dual 2 ft. By 4 ft. 54 watt 8 bulb panel called the "Solar Flare". Available on amazon for $157.00 at that time. Whereas the G8 LED light system that I use now ran $1,200.00. At that time economic situation ruled. Anywho, I was using a dual six inch in line exhaust fan to circulate air out of the tent. Numerous fans to circulate the air. 18/ light cycle. Lightwave adjusted and kept the inches away on a daily basis. Pests have never been a priblem. Medium was Black Hills Gold potting soil. Started in 4 inch peat pots finished in 3 gallon fabric bags. I was growing Amsterdam Indica XTRM, Cheese feminized, Thai Skunk and Caramelicious. Because I could not control my RH, CO2, temp, air circulation, and a few other little things, I wound up with 10 plants out of 30. To begin with I had 10 Amsterdam, 10 Thai, 10 Caramelicious, 10 Cheese fem. My final take:
7 Cheese fem, 2 Caramelicious, 1 Thai Skunk.

So, my smoky friend, there you have it. My first was almost a wash were it not for the feminized seeds I had in my fist batch. Still learing, doing a little better, and hoping someone won't make the costly expensive mistakes I made!

I agree @Richard Drysift . If you are getting a tent that you plan on using for an extended period of time, spend the extra money and get a Gorilla grow tent. I own one and would not buy another brand of tent. My other advice would be not to go cheap on your inline fan, take into account how much vertical space you will have growing and plan accordingly. I would avoid LED lights and stick to HID. Look for an air cooled hood that does a good job of dispersing the light over your grow space. Good luck :leaf:

Can I get these "HID lights online anywhere? Or can u get them at a hardware store/WalMart? Thats what Im working out now, my inline fan and I went with a Gorilla grow tent :) Im excited to get it all figured out and get started!

What size tent did you get? You will love your Gorilla tent :) ! I would look on amazon for the lights if you plan on ordering online. What wattage of light are you planning on using and how big of an inline fan did you get Jessa?

I prefer HID (high intensity discharge) lighting as apposed to LED. HID lighting which includes both high pressure sodium and metal halide, provides deeper penetration than most LED's and usually results in larger yields and denser buds/flowers. HID lighting will run hotter than LED lights so it will need to be aircooled through an inline fan. I have never worked with a space smaller than 3'x3' but I would recommend either a 250 watt light or 400 watt light depending on the ambient temperature of the room you plan to grow in. A T5 panel could also be an option as well for the lighting especially if heat is an issue. Carbon filter will be a must in flowering.

I have used that 400w apollo, it works fine and you could easily get four 3-gallon plants going in that tent if you veg to about 12-14 inches and LST your plants. It doesn't get nearly as hot as the 600w option they have but you will have to make sure your air flow is on point. If you'd like to play it safer you can check out:

Something like this has a cool tube attached so you can mount additional ventilation on the bulb itself and it's only minimally more expensive. It is a great option for people who want the power of HID lighting but are growing in a tight space.

Im putting the Grow Tent in the corner of my room near my window - I think I will go with what you suggested!
...now ventilation.
Im off to check out fans on Amazon...if you have fan input drop it here...one can never have too many opinions/advice on this. I want it to be perfect!
