My local shop is a supporter for these lights so I was talking to a guy at the store and he must have been a lil faded cus I get him talking about them and then he tells me that he had a guy buy 2 of the 400s and one of the ballast keeps burning out, he reassured me igrow was taking care of this and replacing the ballast as was with the warranty but he said dude had gone through like 3 ballasts in 2 months and the moron bought 2 more 400s allegedly, its cool that they live to that warranty but the idea is that they should work no prob up til then not need to be replaced a dozen times within the warranty... They obviously have a couple of things to still work out... I know hearing that someone had to have their light sent to the manufacturer does not give me a warm and fuzzy feeling since light out for repairs means time lost growing and thats just no good... haven't seen a ballast failure with inda gro, if you find one point me to it since I am seriously considering buying one of these to replace some of my leds.

the FSS/iGrow 400 that i had suffered a ballast failure at 2 months into bloom, which was 4 months of total use.

been using multiple Inda-Gro's since April of last year with not one single issue.

That's why you only deal with a US manufacturer. They're going to stand in for the warranty repairs. Good luck getting that out of some Chinese ballast. You're skrewed!

BTW I hear there is very few failures on these ballasts and most of the time it's not a problem with iGROW it's the customer's wiring being substandard can overheat the ballasts. kudos for these guys for fixing them anyway!

This was from FCG's journal... Induction lighting is ridiculously expensive, and doesn't put out the same kind of PAR that LED does. Why would anyone want to buy lights that are more expensive, and produce less PAR?

Next time go with iGROW. I don't think they don't have any restocking fee and I believe they also have 90 day return policy but I would confirm both of these things first.
I'm no lighting expert but I'd be looking at induction before LED just because they cover a larger area and have spectrum specific for veg and flower lamps. LED's can't do all that!

LED's have changeable spectrums, cover just as large an area, cost about the same(or less), and put down substantially more PAR.

My old (In Jeff from Area 51's terms LOL), AF-240 puts out 1700 umoles at 12 mother fuckin' inches.

Show me an induction light that rocks shit that hard. Not to mention Area-51 doesn't test on tomatoes and lettuce.... they fine tune their spectrum for CANNABIS.

now this I see coming to eventually top hid when they achieve better efficiency

I've grown 5-6 foot tall plants too. I prefer LST, and keeping plants small in stature.

No leaves.. lol You mean defoliation? The purposeful removal of fan leaves late in flower?

Kite high you are growing blue dream. The biggest bud maker. Anyone could grow it that big under any light.


Defoliation is bad and stunts growth.

Me and the Dawg will have to disagree with you on that one.

I've had great results with it. It opens the lower buds up to more light, so you get less popcorn.

hyroot you are mistaken...those are positronics claustrums in the pic...not harvested yet ...still a ways to grow....the blue dream is from another grow and those are the cannabinoid levels...the produce ok but you are very wrong about it being a great yielder...it is decent in yield but I have many many other strains I have grown that will blow it away in yield...as a matter of fact the claustrums will end up outproducing the dreams...I can already tell


yes I agree defoliation is done by people with zero botanical knowledge...wtf do flowers need more light? Its the leaves that need light and turn it into food to produce the yield
