I know it sounds dumb but The thing is I’ve seen this go down with mold before with others and the landlord wasn’t held accountable for shit. Theres really no law atleast in Ohio to the amount of mold spores or even mold presence in house but I may have a case. I should go see my doctor and explain these symptoms that may be due to mold exposure. I’ll get a good spore test kit and then hit the landlord hard with it. I’d like to break his neckThat’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. I’d call a inspector to come look the place over and the other 30+ properties and then he would have to fix them or they would be closed. Kick him in the junk hard.
There are building codes they have to adhere to. If a building inspector comes in and sees everything wrong he has a legal obligation to report it to the city and they have to fix it or shut it down.I know it sounds dumb but The thing is I’ve seen this go down with mold before with others and the landlord wasn’t held accountable for shit. Starting a fight with your landlord while you are attempting to grow isn't the smartest thing either. Whether in a legal state or not it's the property owners discretion on whether he allows you to or not. Most wouldn't allow it.That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. No but considering the dangers of the dwelling it’s far too hazardous to people. Landlords need to be held accountable. When I was in the military and up in Washington state there was black mold in the walls and he refused to fix it so I reported it and got my deposit back before I moved out.Starting a fight with your landlord while you are attempting to grow isn't the smartest thing either. right. The grow is taken down.Starting a fight with your landlord while you are attempting to grow isn't the smartest thing either. Whether in a legal state or not it's the property owners discretion on whether he allows you to or not. Most wouldn't allow it.
I feel you man. The smell suddenly lowering in flower I’ve found to be associated with mold. Cellar is probably a great place for it. I’ve ordered some mold testing kits to test surfaces and the air. You send them to a lab and they tell you the types of mold and the level of mold spores in the air. The flavor of the bud, once dry and a period of time becomes bland and lightly musty. Before all the way dried and cured it’s a really strong bad tasteThen we are back to mold is in the air everywhere. There is only so much you can do. This thread has got me thinking because since I moved my grow down in the cellar the smell isn't as strong as it used to be. I get some bud rot now and then on the big colas if I don't pay attention to the humidity. Last week I unplugged my dehumidifier because I needed the outlet then I forgot to plug it back in for a week. My dank plants don't smell as dank now. Even though I don't see any mold I have a nagging suspicion there may be mold spores hiding in the buds. I don't allow any wood or cardboard in my cellar. Everything down there is either metal or plastic. My gf did sneak a few cardboard boxes down there and I am giving them the side eye.
This thread has me thinking about HEPA filters and ozone generators now. I think the cheapest fastest thing to do is buy a microscope and really really examine some buds for mold spores. If I had a weed testing facility close to me I would love to get some tested. I don't know how sensitive the cheap mold testing kits are but probably can't pick up a very light mold condition. Growing killer weed used to be so easy, now my smoke isn't as flavorful as it used to be. I feel your pain. Even though my cellar is very clean and seems mold free, I have got to find a way to get my grow back upstairs. I need to learn more about mold testing.
Oem filters? I’ll have to look them up. Does it remove VOCs? I want to get these spores and get vocs. I don’t want to breath in mycotoxinsHEPA is a bandaid, but a very good bandaid. Plus in the growroom they double as the fan for airflow. You can see a difference in air quality in 24 hours in your living area. OEM Filters are expensive but i buy aftermarket online for around half price. Strongly recommend immediately.
Be prepared to moveYou’re probably right.
Right. Odds are He’s not gonna fix the shit and there’s really nothing I can do to force him short of emptying out the rest of my bank account and go looking for money I don’t have to go to court Or do you mean something else by be prepared to move?Be prepared to move
No I mean he'll probably force you out so he can "repair" everything and immediately rent it back out. People who are into being landlords are assholes by default I believe. We were talking sulfur burners on another post. You might read about using them.Right. That would be nice and he could give my 6000$ back for rest of 6 months rent I’ve already payed in advance and the the deposits. I see that being a hassle too. Idk man. I’m torn between making this an issue with him and getting hepa filters and ozone/ hydroxyl generators for the house and riding it out til June. They are definitely most all assholes by defaultNo I mean he'll probably force you out so he can "repair" everything and immediately rent it back out. People who are into being landlords are assholes by default I believe. We were talking sulfur burners on another post. You might read about using them. I’ve looked into the sulphur burner as well. I’d want to attack it all angles. I got a large hepa for the downstairs and one for upstairs now. I want more. I want overkill. I won’t be going downstairs to first level. anymore other than to clean up if I decide to stay. I pretend it doesn’t exist
My ex turned into a lung patient the week we moved into a rental that turned out to be filled with black mold. Despite moving she got better but never the same after that.I think I’m having issues with mycotoxin exposure. Like the guy above mentioned, I’m having a ton of symptoms. Shortness of breath. Constant pressure in my head. Racing heart occasionally. Sinuses irritated. Eyes burning a little. Memory is totally fucked. It’s like living in a fog. It’s all spot on
Wow man. That’s really sad and the sick part is the landlord probably knew. This place is just a big turd. Loved it when I moved in. Great view of the lake from my upstairs. Quiet neighbors. Nice and big in here. Hell man, I know There’s mold but it’s also the paint and whatever else he’s used to treat things in here in the past. He said the walls were painted over 6 months before I moved in and I’ve been here 6 months. Every time I walk in I smell chemical and paint. The off gassing is insane in here. Not sure where the hell he got the paint. Shit can’t be legal. Lol. He’s ordering from India or something. My ex turned into a lung patient the week we moved into a rental that turned out to be filled with black mold. Original Equipment Manufacturer, like Honeywell. HEPA is very effective for microscopic particles like mold spores, pollen and mites. The activated carbon prefilters are ok for voc’s, but not very thick and need frequent replacement. As for moving, better the devil you know.Oem filters? I’ll have to look them up.
