The parts needed for a light have been recommended how many times in this thread? You can't spend 5 minutes to pick your parts? If its that big of a deal, go buy a prebuilt light!

Well excuse me fo taking the name of his company literally. What KIT have you ever seen/bought that did not include all the parts needed to assemble? And why do you assume I have read through the entire thread?

I have no problem plugging a cable into a board and the wall, but shouldn't a kit have all the necessary parts, including the heatsink?

Those strips are outliers, ive only ever sold a few.

if you want cobs with heatsinks and drivers i can put a package together for you

and technically it is "kits" simply because he does sell pre assembled single cob engines. and due to the nature of cobs being able to be driven at many different loads, thus making you choose your own driver. (which as amazing as cobby is, leaves recommendations for almost what ever you want to build) so its easy to match what you want to do.
weve all been in your shoes, we all were new at some point. so feel free to ask questions. this is a forum, and were here to talk and help.
and cobby always includes hardware, screws/nuts/eye bolts. its great.
just remember that he does have the pre built engines. and you can always use it as a blueprint to piece together your own. and its always nice to have everything you need in one easy spot. as shipping adds up fast across multiple other distributors due to the semi heavy nature of most of these parts.
but imho its totally worth it. even and cool light, customize-able, efficient, what you spend on hid bulbs every six months you could buy one or even two single engines, 4 to 8 1212's, 1 or 2 1825's and if you use the iceled heatsinks, you get a duo top canopy fan (which are amazing) what you are spending on expensive hoods, lots of ventilation, bulbs, electricity, and in some cases co2 supplementation, typically destroys the the upfront cost of building, in comparison.
when you buy a prebuilt fixture expect to spend 2$ per wall watt for good quality.
when you build, expect to pay .50c per wall watt for exceptional quality.

Ok. This is an advertiser thread right. My last grow room burned down and I'm rebuilding. Looking at cob lights but dont know a lot. Spent over 500 dollars on the Vero 29s i lost and am looking at spending another 1000. I need a full kit to light a 6 x 6 tent. This is what I'm looking at now. Can I do this for less? Even if with a different brand.Screenshot_20180620-182135_Samsung Internet.jpg

that looks like it uses vero Ds (sadly thats not at all transparent in the description, it just says "Top Bin Bridgelux VERO29" which is somewhat deceiving as both B's and C's are substantially more efficient)

citizen 1212s would be the closest match to Vero D. id recommend using luminus instead

setup like that with 12 cobs minus frame would be about $700-800 and outperform that

if you did it with 9 luminus cobs it would match that in output and save you about $120

email me if you need a parts list

Those cobs are great and gave me 22-25C box temp instead of 30-32C with HPS before.
