Thanks Lilman..they stink now..and they are only 3 nodes up..why does the doctor say august 15th to sep 15th??..the only reason I have these is because I wanted the g13 and they were out at the time..the doctor told me that the iranian chem was comprable to the g13---that it had in his opinion "better bag appeal". Also the same harvest time. That august harvest was a sticking point with me. The iranian chemdawg was the best pot you ever smoked but you never had pure chemdawg before. WOW....
I let mine go as late as possible, i could see a sept 15th harvest NP. If you get a plant that really leans towards the Iranian genetics I could see it being done by late august. Ive grown the iranxg13 more then a few times and its great stuff but it doesnt hold a flame to the chemdawg cross IMO. The term bag appeal shouldnt even apply, the smell is utterly uncontrollable once its outa the bag. Also, its a panty remover to boot your going to be a happy fella !!!
hope that helps, Lm

Thanks again. This is helpful to me. The only reason I have this is because thedoc talked me into it. I knew he knew what he was talking about. This smell thing has my head spinning a little right now. Like I said, I can smell the skunk right now pretty pungent. I can just imagine now what I am up against all ways. So far these plants have fought off adversarial conditions. All kinds of temps and LOTS of rain. The first thing I did right was plant high. That hasn't stopped the slugs though. They will take you down if you are not paying attention. Being a gueriilla grow you have to be aware on wet nights. I almost forgot about them this year. Because if you look during the day the slugs are hiding and its easy to believe its bugs.Ive made that mistake before. Another week and they will be strong enough to resist slugs. Then it will be whatever insect blows up from south. I will document the whole grow and I havent seen any good pics of outdoor grow on iranian chemdawg . Or I may be missing it. Thanks again for all help....p cy

Sorry for high jacking your thread Doc..

We have slug problems here in southern ontario as well. I fix that problem with copper wire. Slugs wont cross copper wire. I loosely wrap copper wire around the base of my out door plants before i put them out, you have to be super careful though cause plants are so delicate at that age. I also sprinkling slug bait around the perimeter of the plants . Also stake them early, you will need to stake them lol at least i always have. The more N you give them the later they will take to finish but im sure the Doc told you that because thats who told me =)

Very sexy brother.
Hows the smell ? Can u tell them apart ? Plant 2 gets my vote as the chemdawg. Ive got them side by side and all the SDs are taller then the chemdawgs..I wish it was the other way around =).

I still cant tell. P1 smells of Diesel but I can smell the Iranian in there even stronger. P2 is all diesel smell. Very hard to figure out for me....

Okay,
These babies really smell now.....lots of Diesel type smell from both with subtle differences.
Judging by the look of the buds, I'm guessing Plant #1 is the ECSD and P2 is the Chem but i'm still not certain.
Lilman, do you have any better idea now?

Plant #1...

Plant #2....

I want to give a big thank you to Lilman for gifting me these seeds. This grow has given me a real good idea about Greenthumbs Iranian crosses; these look great so I'm sure his others do as well.
The smoke test will tell the story even better but if these finish in 65 days or so and are close to the quality of the straight Chem or ECSD, then I may have to do a large run of these. I took my straight Chemdawg to 84 days so thats a big difference.

I put these in the flower room at 9 inches which is a good deal smaller then usual for me. Despite the small size they look to be a good yielder and if I did them tree style they would be huge.

I have to agree with you bro, plant one looks like the the sour diesel. I have them side by side as well, the chemdawg seems to be about 1 week behind did not stretch as much and ate less.. I will send you those pics after harvest. I sure appreciate you growing these out and comparing it to the normal SD and CD, that would take me almost a tear to accomplish lol. One again the doc hits a home run.. you should post this grow on the docs forum as well.
Peace, Te Lilman

I started the chop on day 65. After getting a real good look at them with a magnifying glass and a scope I would say about 90+% of the pistils have changed color and the trichs are 80% cloudy. I have some new growth at the tops but its just fox tailing or whatever you call it. So, i harvested a few of the mid/lower buds that are the most ripe and the rest will come down in a few days.
They both smell great, i cant wait to do a side by side smoke test to see the differences in taste and high. At this point, both look like they will be "elites" and worth a run by anyone.

This is awesome Dr. Gruber. Keep at it. I may also run the chemdawg iranian outdoors with the iranian OG kush next summer. I can't wait for your report. Will the iranian chemdawgs have solid nuggets like the kush or will they be airy? Has anyone grown these strains outdoors? I'm from BC, Canada and I would love to know when these strains are done by. Any comments?
