Is 2600 Lumens Enough Light To Grow The Magical Herb?

It's the science of lumen's. I do not disagree that adding more lights helps...having 5 1700 lumen bulbs in different areas of your plant is great...but having them side by side does not increase the lumen value. So whether you have 5 or 50 1700 lumen bulbs...the most lummens your plant will see is 1700.

You want more lumen's???....Get a lamp that produces lots...plain and simple.

It's simple, ScarletteSky is reffering to lumens intensity, and homegrownboy is reffering to lumens (in general)

Honestly both of you are correct, as lumens intensity will increase in an enclosed area... BUT the actual measurment of the lumes will in fact stay the same.

This is because the photons which are produces contain the same amount of energy regardless of any other light sources or reflectors, and etc.

I think homegrown is right there, I have a metalhalide and a hps one is 38000 lumens and one is 45000 lumens. My plants get 45000 lumens but just benefit from more light they recieve from both lamps... im pretty sure they are not getting 83000 lumens

Go to the first link in my signature. Homegrownboy has since seen it (the light).

Lumens do add, resulting in more lux.

I need to get that damned post on a stickie.
