Is Bubbleponic really any good?

is eb and flow the more apprpriate hydro setup or is bubbleponic better, because it's certainly cheaper

For my needs, ebb & flow works better but I have nothing against bubbleponics. Lots of happy growers here. If you find a system that you like, go for it. You'll probably get faster growth versus ebb & flow anyway.

the problem is changing the water in bubbleponics...if i make a homemade system out of buckets...it will be a real bitch because of the roots

i have the same problem changing the water.. i was reading online that you could just add water to the bubbleponics with the correct PH.. is that true??

bubbleponics is great... if u get the right sized container u dont even need the silly water pump... i prefer simplicity... and for me the best thing i found was set up a bubbleponics system... air stone on bottom... net pots cut into lid.... but instead of the waterpump and tubing to the roots i simply ordered a $40 ultrasonic fogger with float... all u do is drop that baby into the tub and plug her in... instantly 100% humidity... better then hydroponics, and the nutrient and water droplet size is 4-6 micron---try that aeroponic clogging sprayers lol.....the plants literally can breath the fog in... making it best for cuttings and seedlings but is also incredible supplimental nutrients...

ive ran organic soil
ive ran aeroponics
ive ran deepwater culture
ive ran ebb and flow
i run fogponics and life will never be the same lol

usually u need to change the res like 2 times a month... make the system so lid lifts off with the pllants in their net pots chill in the lid and just have a friend hold it or suspend it over the sink... then u can rinse the bin and theeres no issues.. and u need to add water to the res.. make sure its ph tested because if water is evaporating out of the res then the salt content will increase causing nutrient lockout.. this can be prevented by simply topping off the reservoir with clear frest phed water, and a monthly nutrient flush with flora kleen or similar leaching solution

You have to remember that "bubbleponics" is just a commercial term, like ipod, not a category like mp3 player. What is called bubbleponics is just another variation on DWC. Instead of the drip from the top (conveniently powered by gravity), it puts the feeder tubes in the res and adds a submerged pump and a distributor. Some of us maintain that you can do every bit as well by relying soley on intense bubble action and skip all that appartus in the water. Ironically, "that" would be the real bubbleponics.

I think the bottom line is they all work and any difference in performance is mainly a function of the grower not the system. Ebb and flow is really a DWC variation, too. You just have to learn exactly how they work and ask yourself if each one of the parts you are being told you need, is there because it does something critical for your plants or if it is there because perceived need creates a market for something someone is selling.

hey smile have u tried a fogger in your system? me and some of my good friends have been having faster growth rates then are old areoponics systems... the fogger is so quiet i forget its there until i pull out a net pot and get fogged out lol

also i dont have a reseroir i will be running solely 1 pump to a bucket per plant...because reservoirs are extremely too expensive

5 gallon is cool if u want to veg for months... but i suggest getting a rubber tub from walmart for like 10 bucks with a lid... then u just buy net pots an air pump and a fogger... u can litterally make a clean system for under 100 bucks... and it can house 5 plants... in less then 1.5 X 1.5 space

do it yourself and you wont regret it

oh i got a grow tent... 4x4x8...which is way to big, but for a 400w system with 6 plants that is fine yo...especially if i'll start growing at christmas time yo

No I haven't tried aeroponics or a fogger. I wouldn't mind, I'm just too lazy to make something so I keep going back to what's most simple and works.

out of all besides the fogger which works the best yo?
fog is cheapest and best bet in my opinion... only need the fogger and float.. air stone and pump bin with net pots and some growing medium

fogger w/ float from ebay 40 bucks

net pots 35cents a pop...

air stone pump and tubing 15 bucks

rubber tub 8 bucks

so for 70 bucks ur all ready to rock.. and a few more dollars for grow medium
