I find it pretty disturbing that he has that kind of money and people are starving out there.

Lot of the money is tied up in companies that employ people that buy stuff that employ others. So stuff like rockets to space may seem like a waste the result is people in the whole supply chain eating. While other projects might have more value to those on the lower rung it is what it is. A large portion of the people with food insecurity is driven by political conflict though. So in these places the people with guns cause the problem.

Seems like just yesterday that Musk was the savior of the planet. Mr Clean and Green. Tesla is going to eliminate carbon emissions, etc..., blah blah blah.

I guess many people are just starting to realize what many of us have known all along. Musk is just another arrogant jerk with a bunch of money. He cares only about himself and much of what comes out of his mouth is a lie. He's no different than trump. In fact the two are very much alike.

Many idolize the guy as if he's something special. It makes absolutely no sense.

You have to hope it doesn’t though.

All things considered without Musk long-life reusable rockets may have come about later than this point in time. It does matter tremendously in the scope of human existence.

We should become a multi-planetary species as soon as possible and reducing the cost of space travel is a win

Have you looked at its (speculative) specs? The booster quits way too early in order to make flyback cheap. The second stage is exhausted on arriving in a low earth orbit.
And he is touting this as the gateway to interplanetary travel! Just, no.
When you need multiple rendezvous with on-orbit tankers, the core concept is broken.

I am not religious, Christ, anit-christ... Whatever. The anti-christ is supposed to bring about the apocalypse. The actual meaning of apocalypse is the great revealing, or unveiling depending on what language it's translated from. So if some higher being is trying to hide knowledge from us...I'd like to know what that knowledge is. The fact that we cannot see as adults what infants and animals see is curious. Is it that we are genetically programmed to lose that sight through the veil? Or is it trained out of us... Either way, it's like all the knowledge the Vatican has collected through "crusades" or the knowledge that the US govt won't allow us to know... Because we "couldn't handle the truth" ! Maybe the knowledge would be so crushing to organized religion that the whole world would lose hope and we would plummet into confusion and panic? Discuss!
