This is in my g house and its totally about to rain and sun wasn't out but for the am part of the day. It's different than window I know but still shows that the plant is getting good light on cloudy day.

Well what does a couple of zips cost where you are? Surely if he guarantee's the equipment works or better test it then you will easily re-coup your investment. Shipping kills deals and not having equipment land on your door may also be worth thinking about. Is the guy cool, do you know him, will he know about your location?...JAS

Correction: "repossessed" in the title.

JonnyAppleSeed420, good point about the shipping and having the equipment readily available. I don't know the guy. I know where he lives but he doesn't know me or where I live. Could easily get my license plate though. He never offered to let me me test anything - no big deal to him - take it all or nothing. His driveway is crammed full of other people's repossessed/confiscated belongings. He seemed like he wanted me to make up my mind in a hurry so he could go back in the house. The equipment was probably better off in the storage unit where the humidity and dust couldn't get to it. He started off at $850 and came down to $650. His solution: if you can't afford it, sell it on Craig's List and buy your wife something "nice" like chocolates (when she goes ballistic). I ended up buying a used tent 4' x 3' x 6.5' (huge) from another guy, who had never put it together, for $75 so I still have $575 left to put back in the bank before Mrs. balances the checkbook. What are "a couple of zips?" Your point is well taken about having equipment and continuing to build the best you can afford.

Lo Budget, putting the plants on the lanai was the original plan or growing from inside, but it is on the first floor and not really safe from kids stealing. Plus the condo association are plant nazis and blame plants for mosquitoes and for a "messy" looking lanai (patio). I have a bunch of green Ti Plants, Money Trees, plumerias, papaya tree, pineapple, and cactus growing out there now. The uncovered concrete slab is somewhat cooler with the plants on it. I overestimated the amount of sun available from an east-facing window during the day.

With the price of a good mh and hps these days, precautions must be taken to not hurt the bulb. I get good deals on bulbs but it still hurts when I flip all of them to new ones.

Yea, bulbs do cost a good bit. But a reduced yield costs a lot more.

blacksun, what kind of bulbs do you use and do you grow indoors. I guess the electricity bill is just a necessary evil.

i wouldnt want the bulbs at all, nor the duct silencer, they just impede air flow, i have a few global greenhouse hoods, i dont use them anymore, i bought them new and they didnt seal at all right out of the box you could hear air whistling thru the seal, and as such it sucked all the co2 out of my room in short order. when you use global greenhouse bulbs with a GGL ballast it puts out more lumins than most other bulbs on the market except for digilux. as for the tents, ive never used one so i cant comment on those but ive heard if they are set up correctly they work fine for a ninja grow. the air filter is also another matter, they are only good for about a year, most cannot be refilled easily, and are disposable. id probably pass on that too. but as for price, id try to jew him down a little at least 100 . lol but thats just me.

JohnnyAppleSeed420, did you ever see that Johnny Appleseed Walt Disney movie? Thanks for the definition of a zip. Get 16 zips and you're a happy camper! Where I live I'd have to find someplace to hide it or get rid of.
