i want to learn arabic for understanding Quran, translations not enough for me. i speak only Turkish and English for now.

Is there a particular reason you want to do so? That is , why do you want that much understanding of the Quran? What does it not offer you in translation that you will get otherwise? Have you read a Turkish translation?

If you are going to say anything about IS, first you have to qualify your statement with "I'm not talking about the peace loving Muslims, for which there are many, who are doing great things and are surely against IS", followed by pointing out something horrific Christians did over a century ago (without the need to qualify that statement that it wasn't ALL Christians and many were peace loving).

Get with the PC program man. sorry... BIGOT!!

Do you believe you'll achieve a closer union with God by doing so? If so, why?

I sincerely doubt that. I can't even imagine the amount of poetry which must have come out of the post-science years of Islam (after 1200 AD) which would have been far superior in evoking imagery and wisdom. Who told you it is the "best art" ? How do they know?

i heard it from an imam. i know that there is not any literature before Quran, this is first grammar source of arabic. And it has lots of miracles. I am affected everytime i read or listen its translations, why wouldnt learn arabic and listen in original language. do you envy quran that never falsified.?

PERF 558
is the oldest surviving Arabic papyrus, found in Heracleopolis in Egypt, and is also the oldest dated Arabic text using the Islamic era. It is a bilingual Arabic-Greek fragment, consisting of a tax receipt, or as it puts it "Document concerning the delivery of sheep to the Magarites and other people who arrived, as a down-payment of the taxes of the first indiction."

Features of interest include:

  • In Greek, it calls the Arabs "Magaritae", a term, believed to be related to the Arabic "muhajir" often used in the earliest non-Islamic sources. It also calls them "Saracens".
After excavation, the papyrus was put in the Erzherzog Rainer Papyrus Collection in Vienna.

Born Muḥammad ibn `Abd Allāh

Mecca, Hejaz, Arabia
(present-day Saudi Arabia)

Died 8 June 632 CE (aged 62 or 63)

You never answered a bit of what I said. Though I gave many facts and reasons, you saw them not. So it is you who trails the goat head of falsehood. And for you is the shame of your mother.

You can't reveal truth by turning to lies.

So you don't want to learn Arabic for the purposes of incantation? I still don't understand why one would want to study Arabic solely for the purpose of understanding the Quran unless it made one more ideal or "good" or something. I read your other posts, too. They seemed to be more about American war policies than the Quran or the Arabic language.

If you count poetry and prose, there was literature (not just receipts and book-keeping) in Pre-Islamic times. There are no complete Qurans from before 750AD, either.

Perhaps I'm missing some larger point. Do you consider yourself a Muslim?
What does the Quran tell you regarding Allah's omniscience?
Does Allah know all or not?

49:16
Muhammad Sarwar: (Muhammad), say, "Do you teach God about your religion? God knows whatever is in the heavens and the earth. He has the knowledge of all things".

2:155
Sahih International: And We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient,

So God knows all, but needs to test people because of ignorance?
I assume Uthman ibn Affan didn't write both of those passages when he compiled the Quran originally. But obviously God was having a bad day with the logic on that play.
I think devoting your efforts to studying Mandarin would be more beneficial to your well-being. Better philosophers than Muhammad were writing centuries before he even was a sperm, or piece of dust, or whatever.

Shocking that blatant hatred toward an entire demographic by a few white men doesn't get locked even after weeks but the thread where skunkd0c comes out as a rapist and has a meltdown gets locked in less than 2 hours of him hopelessly defending rape.
oh c'mon now.

doer has stated repeatedly that he doesn't hate all muslims, just the jihad-y ones.

but then again, any muslim he comes across he makes them swear to him that allah is not the only god and that other religions can co-exist.

and when they do say other religions can co-exist with islam, he ignores it, swears it never happened, and calls them jihad-y anyway.

so he doesn't hate all muslims, just the jihad-y ones, which are all of them apparently.

doer'd.

The only thing that makes anything even close to sense is that God is not a man or he would not be a god, therefore he would have to become a man to see the differences not just know them.
