Gambler, I'm gonna lower a few of those 600s tomorrow night. You're definitely right though, cool tubes would be a sensible upgrade. What about the Magnum XXXL though? six of those with a 600cfm should let me drop the lights almost on top of the plants throughout. :eyesmoke:
long as its a nice straight run like it is now... i'm sure that would work. the XXXL looks like the hood space is pretty small and aerodynamic... though nothing beats cooltubes for air movement.

HTG has very competitive prices... you might comparison shop, not sure where you were gonna get that XXXL from.

It would deffinitely allow you to grow in the summertime (even with only a 5000btu a.c. on top of the air-cooled hoods). But if that's when you take vacation anyways... free-time is priceless.

Mammath, that's a good question I had to trouble shoot this last time around, and severely shocked my plants in the process. When I started this current grow I transplanted straight into RW cubes from aero clone and almost killed everything in 48 hours. I started a thread begging for help at the beginning of February.

Long story short by the end of transplanting into the second tray I'd masted the slightly moist balance needed in the Gro-dan croutons and the conditioned RW 6" cubes.

Winkdogg's right too, and sometimes I wish I could do it that easily, but I went and made things complicated with the aerocloner and that's the way it's gonna remain for at least a bit longer...
Phew, I thought it was going to be difficult, and it sure sounds like it.
I can just see you now packing crutons around 4" roots into the 2" space in a 6" rw cube. That's a fucking lot of work. Obviously worth it, but still a lot of work.
80 of those babies would take some time hey? Mmmm solace...
I have a wife and kid too so I know how important a grow area is in relation to maintaining a healthy family environment ;-)
On another note, do you have an expected yield for all this table top action?

You've got to swirl the roots a bit at the bottom of the 2" hole and then start sprinkling the slightly moistened croutons into the mix while slowly lowering the clone into place. Cover with the 6x6" white poly top, spray with 15% foliar nutrient (not liquid light, but earthjuice microblast) and move on to the next...:bigjoint:

Pics of the whole process coming in less than a month as proof.

Both working from home, we can always spend time together as a family on the Frog Farm. My "rigourous" work schedule does impede at times, it's true. ;-)

Hesitant to state any yield projection, as this is my first time with these two strains in this environment in this medium blah blah blah. 28-42g a plant would be nice, 42-56g per would be better, 56-70g per would be beyond belief. How's that? Next time I'd like to shoot for a one gram per watt ratio though for sure.

lmfao.
I would imagine that it's the most tedious and crucial step in the success of your grow. Wouldn't be big deal if there were only a few but large scale...
That's not work, that's fucking dedication, or artistic craziness. Look forward to the pics.
Seeing your a DM user, I've been using their APS, (Advanced Propagating Solution) for my cloning with good success. How does the earthjuice microblast compare to the APS?

Never used APS before. I just spray something remotely tasty onto their fan leaves just in case my nutrient solution for the RW cubes isn't evenly spread.

On a slightly unrelated topic, I've just gotten through chopping and hanging a gigantic SilverhazeXCough1 plant from the soil room that I think you might enjoy having a look at.

Everything but top buds trimmed off.

It's on the back two lines. The stuff in the front is the lower scrag taken a day or two ago.

This sativa cross is frigging insane, and I should never have tried growing it inside. It wants to be nine feet tall every single time, and I veg these things woefully long periods of time on accident. The whole soil side of things is full of these tied-down amazon monsters right now! :o

Sometimes I'm a negligent Old Frog.

These girls forgive me by kicking down 112-140g each though, which is cool. I will suffer terribly in some marijuana-free hell, I'm sure.

Fortunately I was able to flip these two JFs tonight when the monster came down.

Love smoking the JF man. :hump::bigjoint:

Cool. Talk is cheap, pics are sweet.
Fuck me, you have a soil side?
Nice, very nice OF. Much enjoyment. You've done well at holding those sativa girls down.
I bet you do enjoy that JF mate.
The only way I'll ever get to try some is by growing it. (note to self, order some JF with next seed order). ;)

Most prices I've seen online hover around the $170-180 mark. What's the light footprint on your cool tubes? 16 sq ft.? More? It looks like they have pretty comparable coverage? When you have them plopped right on top of the plants, what's the max coverage you're getting? 3x3'?

Cooltube lumens per sq. ft. in a grid layout is quite comparable to other reflectors so long as you are using the enclosed 'wings' on the outside of the cooltube. I would put basically every 1000w reflector (except perhaps a parabolic) at a nice coverage over a 4' by 5' area. With the sides of the bulb throwing light a bit farther than the ends. its possible to still get good 4' by 5' coverage even with the cooltube lamp as close as 10" inches from the nearest plant. it would just be a matter or leaning more towards single colas and / or thinning out some of the fan leaves for better light penetration.

Done and done. Getting six of these cooltubes for $90 apiece by mid-month. And will be going with 40-45 plants per tray next time around no topping to get that 1gpw goal. Ordered the powerplant and this Ceres NLxSK today from Attitude for later this year. :hump:

Might've talked the old lady into letting me do an outdoor this year too with a few of the overflowing veg plants. :weed::weed::weed:

if the wings are more than a couple bucks ...just get a roll of galv flashing 4" and make your own ! line up the origional screw holes and screw a few holes .. that flashing is shiny as heck too:)

Orzz, thanks for stopping by! Your little girls look good so far in that grow. :bigjoint:
Thanks Old Frog, the only reason they are alive at all is because of you and others that have posted their Journals and knowledge. Thank you all!
