that light surely is intensive over there. Such short nodes and leaves wrinkling. What are the temps/hum?
It's nice to have 8 colas, but increasing number of mains, decreases the bud size and it's density.
If growing in big pot and giving plenty of time to establish roots, then it's good, but in 2-4 gal pots I go for 2-4colas. more colas can even reduce your overall yield. if vertical space is not a problem and you don't have side lighting it's even better to keep the number of mains bellow 4 otherwise shoots start competing for the light and do stretching instead of budding.

That's exactly why all the other 3 have 4 top configurations starting out. But this one threw 7 arms at me, at once. I just couldn't say no! haha

I'll just let it do it's thing now and treat it the best I can. Also, right now I just hope they all turn out female!

And you're right about the lights! And just to think that I'll be adding the 3rd and 4rth ones in 10 days! With 2 lights on (about 50w each) and NO VENTILATION yet, I'm getting 26, 27ºC. and 40~50%humidity.

(I have to confess I'm loving the quiet and the peace of mind of not running the exhaust fan yet )

I can't sleep if there's not an extraction fan running somewhere in the house. I'm addicted to the white noise now.

I know what you mean. I too enjoy sleeping to a droning tone!

But living in a small apartment as mine I get way too paranoid at times xD

Right now I have 2 of them on, and pretty soon I'll be switching to full power and turning all 4 of mine on.

Thank you my man =) It's been a powerful line in my life.

It makes me remember that no matter how complex our organisms are and our universe seems to be, if we reduce everything to the absurd, our life is pretty simple in reality.

You just gotta remember that after all, we are just talking bags of meat that live on a rock that is floating through space. And then you just keep on going. Wherever you are going. One step at a time. One decision at a time.

So make good decisions. =)

Quick photo update!

TURNED THE 4 LIGHTS ON AND EXTRACTION, NOW THE GROWING BEGINS!

I've released the training weights for now, and every canopy seems to be well balanced. I'll be adding and removing weights as the development goes on.
It's kinda tricky to keep the dominance problem always under control. So as I visit the tent each day I'll weigh down whatever branch seems to be gaining an advantage.

Sort of like a slow juggle! haha

Anyway, check them out.



Also, I hadn't said it before, but I've been picking out unwanted nodes from the start. I want the plants to grow only 4 strong branches, so as soon as there are any side-branches that are getting long-ish, I'll pick them off.
I've picked some that would have made some really perfect clones. But I'm still not at the cloning phase of my growing skills, so I'll leave that for later. (kinda sad to see them go to waste though =P)

so that's that. now we sit back and let them do their thing.

cloning is not a problem, not much to learn there, more room however is a big problem. Cause you need to set up another area for vegging

That's the only real problem =P And because i can't have perpetual cycles. Time and stealth related reasons =P

And I can't wait to have a new place where those factors are not a factor.

12/12 Started today!

Don't hate on me for switching so early. I've been time conditioned once again... (what else is new)

SO I am forced to start flower now if I don't want to risk getting an immature harvest.

Anyway, growth is really picking up and I'm hoping these few days before sex shows serve to have them veg out a little more, last time it took 7 days for sex. Let's see...

Node structure seems well distributed and no tops are dominating. 19 main tops. Thats 11 more tops than last season.

Good news #1 - c99 is a Girl!!!

Good news #2 - JtR is a Woman!!!

Good news #3 - Dog has come down with a plant case of vagina!!

Bad news #1 - The Psycho Killer is a Dude. It's already hanging some balls.

Good news #4 - I'ma get seeds!!!


3 out of 4 is pretty kewl. I was really looking forward to smoking some PK though =( I guess I'll have to cross it with them others and get a refresher in my seed library =P




I've already cut 3 of the branches off the male so I can more easily control the ball output. I'll leave him in here for now while everything matures, but once I see the ball getting swollen I'll remove it, collect some pollen, and selectively pollinate a few buds.

Hooray!!!! Sounds fun. Throwing pollen around is always a good time.

One week later, this is how the stretch is going so far =)




The boy is getting some real swollen balls, so he's already out of the tent! I've put him on the other side of the house near the window, once I see the sacks about to burst I'll throw a baggie over it.

The c99 is the biggest and stretchiest as I calculated it would be. I hope to get some nice full colas, I can't really remember how dense my lanky c99 buds were last time, and I'm bummed that I didn't take a single picture of that whole grow...

The JtR is is tagging behind the lot, but with 7 heads as opposed to 4, I'd figure as much. Also, this one and the c99 are drinking pretty fast, and drying up the hempies making them very light.

The DoG is coming along nicely, but with only 4 mains I though it would be growing a bit faster. It is also drinking a lot less than the others... What could be the cause of this? Just slow drinker genetics?

I'm wondering how much more stretch there's going to be. I can't wait to see some nice buds coming in soon!!

p.s.- jig, what about those devil'stack plants? never got to taking some pics for us?

I lag. Here's a few pics. Things are looking good over here... and looking good over there too. Have fun with the pollen. And FYI, water kills it real good.... so if it gets anywhere, just spray it down, or if you get it on your clothes or hands, whatever. Water.


The Sleestack x Pico's are against the wall... 5 of them. The ones along the 'top' of the picture are clones of my males I have. The 16 others are Deep Blue from Breeders Boutique. Then some sad looking things in the cups.

Photo update!

The male is finally opening it's pollen pods, one at a time, and I'm just holding back, collecting them all into a jar right before they pop. This way I can have enough pollen to brush on the lowest single node on each female.
It's chilling at the window with our tiny winter rose. It's been putting ALOT of effort into stretching those lanky branches.






This is what the Females looked like a week ago.


And this is just now before a nice watering.



Looks like I'll be having some nice bud-sticks!! I'm excited!

Either today or tomorrow I'll be turning the ventilation off so I can brush some pollen really precisely without cross contamination. And then, we sit and wait for buds and seeds.
