when i was took a tour of the Capitol, i built a 1:10 scale model in my backyard. what's your point? lol
It will make a great exhibit at his trial, plus they can use the model in courtroom demonstrations when prosecuting other insurrectionists. One would have thought anybody with a brain would have ditched the model and notebook long ago, but we are talking about a Trumper here. 10 to 20 years I'd say, this boy is about to get a hard education about being a sucker.

DC Court Makes it Easier to Jail Insurrectionists Pending Trial; Prosecutors Hint at New Conspiracy

Two important developments in the insurrection cases: First, A DC appellate court issued an opinion that should make it somewhat easier to keep insurrection defendants jailed pending trial. Here is a review of that opinion. Second, a new filing by prosecutors in one of the insurrection cases suggests that they are contemplating pursuing a "hub-and-spoke" conspiracy prosecuting that could spell real trouble for Donald Trump. Here's why . . .

It only took one internet ad by the Lincoln Project and 24 hours for this to happen, a few other companies got the message too. This is how you fight these fucks, go for the throat, the Republican senate is heavily dependent on big donor and corporate cash.

I was pretty upset when I saw it. We have four Toyota's, three of which are on the road. I was thinking about looking into Subaru the next time I needed to buy a car.

AG Garland Said This Country Protected HIS Family. It's now Time For Him To Protect OUR Families

During his confirmation hearing for Attorney General, Merrick Garland answered a question from Senator Cory Booker by saying the following:
"I come from a family where my grandparents fled anti-Semitism and persecution. The country took us in and protected us. I feel an obligation to the country to pay back and this is the highest best use of my own set of skills to pay back."

Many Americans feel like we are watching our democracy crumbling courtesy of Donald Trump's continues lies about the election results. It's time for AG Garland to protect our families in our country as a way to "pay back" - in his words - the fact that this nation protected his family. Protecting families can only be accomplished by holding accountable not just the Trump supporters who attacked the Capitol on January 6, but the people who funded, organized and incited the insurrection as well.

Trump All but Dares His Supporters to Attack the U.S. Capitol Again | Vanity Fair

TRUMP ALL BUT DARES HIS SUPPORTERS TO ATTACK THE U.S. CAPITOL AGAIN
Rewriting history, he claimed on Sunday that the people responsible for the violent insurrection were “patriots” preaching peace and love.

In a reasonable society, the insurrection that took place on January 6, 2021, would have (1) resulted in Donald Trump being convicted at his second impeachment trial and barred from ever holding public office again, and (2) been a dark stain on the Republican Party that no one would dare play down or even mention for fear of being associated with a violent, failed coup. Instead, thanks to the GOP’s embrace of fascism, lies, and an aspiring dictator who continues to perpetuate the delusion that he won a second term, it’s become de rigueur for conservatives to whitewash the attack on democracy. Senator Ron Johnson claimed in March that he never feared for his life because the mob was comprised of “people that loved this country.” Rep. Andrew Clyde declared out loud, in public, that the scene that unfolded that day looked like “a normal tourist visit.” And on Sunday, Trump took the gaslighting and bullshit to the next level, rebranding an attempt to overturn the election, which left five people dead and more than 100 officers injured, as a peaceful gathering of “patriots” who were justified in their actions.

“What happened that day from your standpoint?” Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo asked Trump, who responded by saying that the “Stop the Steal” rally that preceded the insurrection had been called by “patriots” who were merely demonstrating “spirit and faith and love.” Claiming there were “over a million people there,” he added, “They were there for one reason: the rigged election. They felt the election was rigged. That’s why they were there, and they were peaceful people. These were great people. The crowd was unbelievable, and I mention the word love—the love in the air, I’ve never seen anything like it. And that’s why they went to Washington.”
Then he described one of the people who broke into the Capitol as an “innocent, wonderful, incredible woman”...
...before suggesting that her being shot was an inside job by Democrats and possibly someone working for Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. (Earlier in the interview, Trump also claimed that Nancy Pelosi was in part to blame for what transpired on January 6, having supposedly ignored his call to have 10,000 National Guardsmen standing by.)
Not surprisingly, basically everything Trump said during the interview was a lie, including the conspiracy theory tying Schumer to some kind of cover-up re: Ashli Babbitt’s death. (According to NBC News’s Tom Winter, the officer who shot Babbitt “was not a part of a specific security detail to a member of Congress,” per a senior law enforcement official.) More disturbing, though, is Trump’s attempt to rewrite history and cast himself and his supporters as the ones who were wronged. As New York’s Jonathan Chait wrote last week after Trump began his campaign to turn Babbitt into a martyr:

[Trump] has slowly turned January 6 from a black mark that threatened to expunge him from Republican politics, to a regrettable episode that his allies preferred to leave behind, to a glorious uprising behind which he could rally his adherents.

The anti-anti-Trump right has dismissed the insurrection as overblown, a protest march gone bad, perhaps ill-considered but never posing any serious threat to the republic. The far right’s highlighting of Babbitt’s death sends a different message: The insurrection was good. Babbitt’s effort to penetrate the defensive barrier was brave, and the stopping of her charge a crime.

By throwing himself behind this message, Trump is endorsing the most radical interpretation of his presidency. January 6 was not a minor misstep after a successful era, as fans like Mike Pence and Lindsey Graham now say. It was the heroic culmination of a righteous uprising.
According to Politico, a source close to Trump said he “feels the energy around [January 6],” having seen “the growing sentiment among his supporters that the rioters and protesters were taking a patriotic stand.” With Trump dubbing their actions at the Capitol noble and good, it’s not hard to see a scenario in which his most rabid fans—like the ones who believe he is the true president— undertake another violent insurrection.

Michael Wolff says Trump's family was "running for the exits" after he lost

On CNN Tuesday, Michael Wolff, author of the new bombshell book "Landslide" on the final days of former President Donald Trump's term, discussed how the former president was on his own, left to brood with his conspiracy theories — even by members of his own family.

"Talk about what was going on in the White House while what we were seeing on our TVs January 6th was playing out," said anchor Anderson Cooper.

"The important thing to remember is that there was nobody in the White House," said Wolff. "From ... November 3rd to January 6th, one of the themes was that everyone that surrounded the president in the West Wing, in the campaign, even his family, were running for the exits. So you had by November 3rd, by Saturday, November 7th, everyone around the president -- 100 percent of the people around the president -- knew he had lost the election."

Cooper expressed surprise that so many of Trump's allies and family members were so clear-eyed about the reality he faced when in the past they had been willing to indulge his fantasies.

"He had taken a step further," Wolff elaborated. "So he was not in the present reality. Everybody knew this. And everybody was trying to create enormous distance between themselves and the president. And this includes his family. So by the time you got to January 6, there was literally — the White House was crickets, nobody there."

FBI agents find another cache of guns belonging to Jan. 6 insurrectionist who had Capitol Lego set - Raw Story - Celebrating 17 Years of Independent Journalism

FBI agents find another cache of guns belonging to Jan. 6 insurrectionist who had Capitol Lego set

FBI agents have seized another cache of guns belonging to an accused Jan. 6 insurrectionist who also had a Lego set of the U.S. Capitol, as well as notes about forming a militia.

"In arguing that Robert Morss, of Glenshaw, should continue to be held in custody as a danger and a flight risk, Assistant U.S. Attorney Melissa Jackson of the District of Columbia said that agents found three handguns at another address where Mr. Morss had stored some of his belongings when he moved to Pittsburgh from State College, Pa., last year," the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. "Ms. Jackson also said that agents found a tactical vest and other clothing that the FBI said Mr. Morss is seen wearing during the insurrection. In addition, a review of his phone showed numerous texts from before and after Jan. 6 in which she said he talked about what supplies to bring to the Capitol and later discussed fleeing after the FBI began arresting people."

When they arrested him last month, agents found three guns at Morss' home, bringing the total to six. In the text messages, Morss reportedly wrote that he was "considering leaving the country" and needed "to get out of town" because authorities "are crushing everyone."

Nevertheless, Morss' attorneys and family are seeking his pre-trial release, portraying him as "a man dedicated to his country who loved being a teacher and suggested he is not a threat to anyone or a risk to run from the law," the Post-Gazette reports.

A federal judge planned to hear more arguments Wednesday, before making a decision about whether to release Morss later this week.

Morss, a substitute school teacher, made headlines recently when agents found the Capitol Lego set, with some speculating that he was using it to plan another attack. However, prosecutors clarified in a court motion before Tuesday's hearing that the Lego set "was in a box and not fully constructed at the time of the search."

During the insurrection, Morss is accused of assaulting officers, civil disorder, robbery of U.S. property and obstruction of an official proceeding.

Video shows Morss near the front line of rioters who pushed past police guarding the Capitol, organizing a "shield wall" in the attack on officers in the Lower West Terrace tunnel and then entering the building through a broken window, according to the FBI.

In other video footage, Morss can be seen trying to seize a baton from a Capitol police officer. He yelled, "You guys are betraying us. You get paid enough to betray your own people? This is our Capitol. This is our Capitol."

Substitute teacher, well that says it all. The guns? "You don't know what kind of crazy's you will run into in the Capital."
