Jig's grow is indeed a very good reference to pay attention to.

Too bad about the photo. Thanks for trying.

I think that you need to get much closer, and your camera will
likely switch to "macro mode". If it does not, then check your
camera's guide, as it might be available in program mode.

Onward and upward,

JD
the flashlight is just too bright, and washes out pics.
Its just a phone so not the best camera on it.

Ill look to see if theres a macro setting, but I doubt it.

edit

nope no macro setting, and I have shaky hands which just compounds the problem

I assure you that its power was not in your league Pap.

It was lovely though, real old school purple.

I am keeping the Somango alive and have taken a couple new clones.

It finishes Week 8 in a couple of days. I will let it go as long as it needs.

Take care,

JD

P.S. Sorry to hear about the camera Bass. Not to worry....we still see the dank!

I'll take your word for it, but man she was pretty :)

What other strains have you slotted to keep as mothers? Are your chems, or deadhead keepers? Weren't you waiting on a lavender plant seedling from same company that made somango?

I cant wait to see you grow out a lemon larry. I swear man, words cant even describe how potent the smell is.

http://advancedtechlighting.com/cdmea860.htm vert only and no digi ballast, but what does a 1000w mag MH ballast cost these days:P

Stick one in an OG hood............get your sunglasses ready!!!lol

Personally I'd wait for the higher wattage philips cmh elite-agro series.....highest PPF per watt of any source ATM and awesome lumen maintenance(3 yr no bulb change).....BUT again looking at almost led $$$.... the 315w versions are TOP for small grows imo:

http://www.cycloptics.com/all-bright

http://growershouse.com/sun-system-lec-315-light-emitting-ceramic-mh-fixture-120v the bigger version should rock it!!!

sorry for the thread high-jack JD...........
Thanks for those links man! What the hell would you run that 860W bulb in? This chart within one of those links is badass! External PDF

The 3100K appears to have nailed the flower spectrum, and the 4200k is no slouch!

The 315's would def be nice for a small space, but I would need two reflectors for a 4 x 4. I know magnetics are cheap, but fawk I already have too much equipment laying around unused lol. I finally sold a bit of it last year but I still have two unused Specrtas in a box and a 600 with hood sitting on a table. I gave my 400 magnetic away with a cheap reflector to a friend who got their med card last year, but I've been pondering trading him a digital 600 to get it back lol.

There was very little available in this area a couple years ago when I bought mine. They were barely recognized as ideal bulbs for cultivation other than a small group of peeps on the web. Riddlem3, Illumination and a few others were using them and caught my interest.

This is what I ran for a minute - External Link CMH

That is a great pdf indeed. Very interesting.

Pap, you may have missed it up above, but the Lavender bean was
attacked by a fungus gnat larvae. I cleaned the seed tray and put
Spinosad into the water when I expanded the new pellets.
I should be OK now.

I am very pissed to have lost a Soma breed, but NYC Diesel from him
popped fine and is progressing.

Really what is coming is mainly the BB and TGA breeds for a while,
along with some amazing DNA work.

I do still have the Chem 4 OG, and may keep it around. DH was let go.

Take care,

JD

The philips all-start 860w bulb will only run on 50/60hz 1000w Magnetic MH Ballast(or switchable 1000w mag set on MH setting).........VERTICAL position only!!

Only person running them around here is Cococola36 under a rebranded system called the true sun 900w by dna-solutions at triple the $$$.....Literally bringing the sun indoors.

Yeah that Utah state pdf is awesome, philips really killed it with the new agro-series bulbs. Unfortunately commercial growers won't bother due to the low wattage. They are coming out with a larger version last I heard, but who know when it releases.

Your CMH bulbs (retrowhites hps mag) are no longer being made and have been replaced by the allstart line up(205w/330w/860w) which all run on mag MH ballasts. Better spectral distribution, higher lm per watt, so it's a better option obviously.

Yeah those guys started the whole thing and Kite High(illumination) RIP, taught me allot. Awesome grower....miss him

Good info man thanks! I imagine that tech will continue to evolve since its really just starting to become a factor in horticulture. The spectral analysis is pretty impressive with the 400w bulbs I bought already, which are still available for sale. I wish I had more time, space.... And I wish it was legal lol.... I would absolutely love to do dank for a living lol..... Trimmers for hire, of course!

Great info indeed!

I took some new shots, as I took out the Somango to clean
it up and to replace the box that I am using to lift it up.

I started its flush yesterday, passing a full 5 gallons of water
through the hempy....but I sloshed some onto the box it was
on and I found it listing slightly this morning.

It might be filling in a bit better as it ends its cycle.

Honestly, it looks no where near finishing, but it should
get three more weeks....we will see.

Somango looks to have some nice density!

The Chemdog has a strange growth pattern, very interesting looking.

Curious to see what your dog does in the next 2 weeks..

Thanks Bass.

I will share it, warts and all.

I began to wonder if I might be painting a case against
Kessils for flowering, as these have leaped out ahead of
the HPS hood, but, really, the buds lower down and getting
both lights are also odd.

Now, this begins to seem as if they are just young, developing,
and will fill out.

I say this because I am hearing people talk about 84 day flowering
times. This is 12 weeks! OK, no problem. I am perpetual in the
tent now. I figure that this is a stepping stone to the Old Timer's
Haze which takes another month longer than that, at least.

We will see. I am trimming and jarring the CVMM buds today.

I did take them a tad early, but they will provide some tasty smoke.

I doubt its the light, more likely a strain specific thing.
I flowered out a Harlequin that had some similar fox-tailing

I might be taking some stuff a bit early as well, but they arent going to yield well at all, and are honestly a waste of light.

I did confirm that there are mites btw, and they just didnt do much damage yet, although the spray I used did.
I am gonna flush those ones today and spray water only on them to rinse off the soap and mild neem mixture

Thanks Jimmer. I appreciate your stopping in.

I was staring at the Girl Scout Cookies for about 10 minutes
this morning....they look very close. I will scope them tonight.

BTW: From what I read the Lemon Thai Kush can get really big,
and that it may take a full ten weeks.

Damn, that's not 'till February.

Ah well.

Happy Weekend Team.

I have good news. The Jilly Bean showed an pre-flower.

I saw pistils, so this should not be another false alarm, like
the Plushberry was. (I am popping another Plushberry)

She has very nice structure. I will be burying her up to where
it was initially topped.

JillyBean.jpg

Also, I scoped the GSC and the Somango this morning, and
both can be taken at any time.

The HPS does not do this justice!

GSC.jpg

Now we get to the fun question....what two new plants get into the tent?

I will make a new post for that, as I am editing up a couple of photo "legends"
(ie a map to show what is what)

Onward and upward,

JD

P.S. The Plushberry was my last of two beans, so we will see if I finally get
burnt with my two-bean approach for Reg beans. !

So far I have only failed to get a breed when I used a fem bean and lost
the sprout to damping off. I have just been pretty lucky so far.

The Jack's Cleaner 2 bean is also the last....I will get more of this one if
I have to, as I want that Lemon. :0)

Also, while I am just not ready to shoot for the Old Timer's Haze that I got
from Ace seeds, I did pop one bean for their Purple Thai Haze and their Panama,
along with a Dinafem Cheese (time for a proper cheese) and a G13 Purple Haze.

Take care!

Here is a shot of the Veg Area:

VegArea1-Legend.jpg

1. Sensi Super Skunk
2. Sensi Super Skunk
3. HSO Bubba Kush
4. TGA Ace Of Spades
5. Sensi Holy Grail Kush
6. HSO Trainwreck

Here is the other side:
VegArea2-Legend.jpg

1. HSO Purple Wreck
2. BB Sour Cherry #2
3. TGA Apollo 13 X Vortex

The Purple Wreck is much happier in it's hempy smart sack. The main stem has
greened up nicely. It got a bit curly from getting too wet when I initially made the
container change, but it is growing faster too.
