Jews and Catholics

There clearly exists a traditional Christian teaching that all Jews are responsible for the act of killing Jesus.
i never heard about that in sunday school, and i even stayed in the whole time, never once dropping out and stealing from my parents to feed a heroin habit.

Speaking as a Jew in the U.S from California and also having lived in N.Y. on and off for years, I would say that Jews being blamed for the death of Christ IS a "thing" here. Not directly taught or endorsed by the church maybe, but certainly an opinion ive heard touted by Christians across the country with varying degrees of belief behind it. This is not to say I agree with the rest of what ThickStemz is on about....but that part is a valid observation.

funny how it didn't seem to be a thing when i was living in san jose, nor for my wife's sister and her husband living in LA, nor was it a problem for her family when they lived on long island, nor it a problem for the rest of her family on the east coast.

No I'm an idiot because I know something these valedictorians have never heard of.

It is a sad comment on our discourse here when you have to say that you don't necessarily agree with much else I have to say to chime in and say I am indeed correct on this one issue. I don't fault or blame you for this, and I appreciate you doing the correct thing and pointing out what is fact in the wake of me providing two links to sources that should have already put this to bed and have those other two guys saying they were wrong.

We live in the USA and protestants here for whatever reason seem to adore the Jews as gods chosen people and that we should collectively suck the cock of Israel on a weekly basis. Of course they only want to help Israel so they can rebuild the third temple and Jesus can come back.

I don't have any dislike for Jews. I just see no reason why such a small minority should make up 4/9ths the people of our high court. Maybe one or two would be representative.

The addition by Jews to world heritage outweighs their numbers. But they shouldn't dominate the US high court.

didn't say it was a "problem"... at least not in the spitting "fuck you kike" kind of way....but I have certainly heard the opinion before and even more frequently when people didn't know I was Jewish.

yes you do. and you want christian judicial activism in order to usher in christian sharia law.

what does it matter that they're jewish?

how has their judaism ever affected even one decision they have made?
Arent we supposed to celebrate diversity?

Arent we all supposed to be equal in our abilities?

Its only a problem to the extent that it would be a problem if every member of congress were white.

I'm not saying its some sort of Jewish conspiracy to fuck over the USA. But unless you're willing to say that Jews (and Catholics maybe) are superior to their fellow Americans, then there should be others represented on the court.

IF it were all all Baptists and Mormons I guarantee you a lot of people would call it a big problem.

in other words, you cannot name a single decision which their judaism has affected, and now you want to create an imaginary "jewish supremacy" boogeyman to stage a fight against, just like david duke.

Haha...despite the occasional rude thing even I cant help but say (mostly to "NOT GOP") I try to avoid an argument and simply have a discussion. Hence the distinction in what I agree with that you pointed out.

I find its best to give no one opportunity to take something, put a twist on it and ram it back down your throat if at all possible.

I mean I could point out that being married to a Jew doesn't make UncleBuck "more" knowledgeable about Jews then a....(wait for it)....a Jew, of the Cohen tribe no less (granted being a Jew doesn't guarantee knowledge on the subject)....BUT I like UncleBuck, we get along, I know where hes coming from and I appreciate it....so why would I? It would simply be me furiously stroking my own ego.

I will take you at your word...but what your saying IS a tad over the top...you are discounting the possibility that they were the BEST qualified for the job at the time...you are choosing to allow their religious background to be a factor....when it has nothing to do with the job....THAT could be considered a form of racism to some.

Maybe the fact that Jewish culture has such a strong emphasis on higher education is a factor in Jews rising to prominent positions with such frequency despite our being such a small minority.

Ill say this...it certainly ISNT because we're just that popular.

Also I dare you to find another peoples in the US whose top wealthy 1% are still diehard democrats whom believe in social welfare, higher taxes and all.

When it comes to a court of 9 in a country of 300 million plus, it is not possible to say that any one person is the most qualified for any vacancy that should arise. There must be a dozen or more people just as qualified as the current nominee.

I don't offer any explanation for why, I just don't see any reason that Jews should be such more solid jurists that their only competition in this country are the Catholics.

I thank you for being fair. It is all I would ever ask of someone.

Dude....c'mon...its not like all 300mill were up for those jobs, right? Or did I not check my email that day? Im really not trying to be a dick but these statements start with your valid opinion and then kind of fly off into space when it comes to the reason behind the statement...

I mean...I could say I feel like Christianity is a FAR bigger threat to US politics then Jews.....and there are far more Christians in congress then Jews....but if I were to say that there are "more qualified citizens in the U.S. then the Christians in congress" (while im sure it may be literally true since most people drawn to positions of power are fucking cunts as a whole, regardless of denomination) it still wouldn't prove any kind of causal relationship capable of validating my point of view as anything other then a personal opinion....

If you feel that way, you feel that way...totally valid...but expect that when you're statements are based on solely feelings (especially with such explosive topics like politics /religion), that likely others will respond in kind...

...and we all know what UncleBuck is feeling

"christian doctrine" ? you dont even have the fucking vocabulary. Vatican II deals with Catholic doctrine. You are so badly out of your league I cant believe you raise any topics at all.

Have you had any formal education?
Hey Mr formal education.

After the links I provided proving this is indeed a thing in christian history, I'm awaiting your apology to me.

I could see your point here if I had just left it at 300 million Americans. I'm certinlty not qualified, nor you, and I'd wager were both in the top half.

I went on to say, in the next sentence or two that there had to be at least a dozen equally qualified persons. I would put in that list any long sitting member of any of the US Courts of appeal for what, 13 circuits. And I would also add any long sitting member of state supreme courts of several large states. Texas and California would likely have more qualified candidates than Rhode Island or Wyoming.

I don't think I made that outlandish of a statement there.

The last appointee was a law school dean. I mean c'mon. If that's qualified then there are hundreds of qualified people, if not thousands.

Why do we only have jews and catholics on the court in a country where they are the vast minority?
Because religion is not a qualifying attribute to be appointed to the court

The non religious make up at least 20-40 million Americans, why don't we have an atheist on the court?

The court is not made up of people that represent American religious demographics, that's what the congress is for
