i used to be a bit of a perfectionist myself but im kinda growing out of it now, i was that bad i couldnt even sit in a room with the curtains not cymetrical or id have to get up and put em right ha ha, grown out of it now though and feel better for it probably leave too much leaves on my bud now but o well ha ha keep up the good work

Better late than never... I plan on many grows to come so you can take the entire ride next time.
Glad you guys like the bear... we've been getting a kick out of it, but I would rather it just find a place to stay and hang out there.
Xc... I'm getting better myself. I can see a crooked picture and leave it be, sometimes... haha. But seriously, it's something I'm trying to work on because I don't have any kids yet and I would love to not pass that on to them.

bears are scarey, i dont get them where i live lol, its not really a bad thing tho being a perfectionist i mean it turned me into a hard worker who if i do something i want it done properlyBetter late than never... I plan on many grows to come so you can take the entire ride next time.

Hey guys... glad to see you on the thread. If you have not yet... you need to check out NeverSummer's grow... it's his first and it turned out frickin awesome.
I think you guys know Ray has an awesome first grow wrapping up as well.
No slights to your guys' grows dwr, tahoe, crazy, and jesse.
Anyways... all 4 of the plants' tops have been cut. Hanging in the box from left to right are the 1st cola, 2nd cola, the 3 small colas from the topped plant... and the big cola from the 4th plant up front.
I'll tell you more later.

Hey guys... thanks for the compliments. Again I defer to you all on the results... the support and advise from RIU has been immeasureable (is that a word).
I am absolutely blown away at the 'tightness' of the buds. Even the lowest buds on those little colas are dense and full, not rocks... but there is no airy-ness to any of them. You squeeze them and they are just fat.
I attribute the tightness to Humbolt County's Own - Bushmaster. It may be a combination of that and the lights, but Im not sure how. Do you guys thing the flouros did something good at the beginning?
Anyways... this stuff smells amazing... makes my other pot seem like something is wrong with it. I smoked a bowl of dry leaves and wow what a more up feeling. I've never smoked the leaves before so not sure how much of an indicator of how the bud smokes it is. I've been reading and half the people seem to think Purple Kush is just Hindu Kush with some purple in it, or that it is Purple Haze with a little kush crossed in... so I'm not sure if I should be expecting and Indica hybird or a Sativa hybrid. I have it either way so I guess it doesn't matter.
If it is any indication though, the store where I bought the clones is now selling some Purple Kush as some of their premium stash at $70 an 1/8th and they list it as S/i .... Mainly sativa... nice.
Also, I've started thinking about my next grow.... look for questions and ideas soon. I'm definitely going vertical.

dam man another sick grow....... tell your girl to get a card and you can go for 12 then you can have enough at one harvest to help out the clinics....just a thought from the look of those pics it sure does look like you know what your doing over there. keep up the growing man

No knocking fdds stadium... that shit was awesome. But... my vertical will be more purely vertical. What I mean is the stadium hung the light on the sde of some plants, sorta above others. In my vert setup there will be no light from above at all. Mine will be instead of a stadium, like a pit. A deep pit of growth.cool a vertical grow .... Plus I'm really stoked about the bushmaster product becuase of how well it stopped vertical growth. For my next grow the sativa-ish plants I'm going to use along with how tall I'm going to let them get really had me worried about timing my 12/12 switch to have them end up the right height. It seems very hard to guess how much bigger they will get after the switch. With the bushmaster it's like cheating. Wait until they are as tall as you want... give them bushmaster and change the lights and boom no growth and pistils 2 days later. Plus it gives you tighter internode spacing. How easy is that.
Last think about the vert.... totally not my idea. Smoote1987 is another member here that turned me onto the idea of the vert closet (not like no one has ever done it before). My man definitely inspired me to go this route.
Always a fun question: Should I start a new thread to discuss the new grow. I'd really like everyones input that checks this thread... BUT I think this is going to be an awesome set up I make and should probably have it's own thread for clarity. I think I answered my question.
More purple kush trimming today, maybe get through the bottom halfs of the plants... It's so cute I have 4 plants that are all about 4" tall.... poor little things are getting pounded by all the light. Maybe make them bottom nugs a little stonger. ???

Yes.... I'm thinking 4 - 5 gal buckets. Independent... I don't want to mess with circulting rez' this grow. So 4 buckets 4 plants. 2 in the back will be squeezed toward the center... ones in the front will be spread... light will be attached to the door... I'll have the 250w mh on the bottom and the 400w hps above it... stacked vertically.
Do you guys think it is worth it to buy a MH conversion bulb so that I can run 650w MH for veg, then switch to 400 hps 250 mh for flower.... or is the mix good enough for both stages of growth. All input welcome.

My thinking is this:
If you are growing sativas, and space is an issue, then the additional stretching from HPS vegging may not be desirable. You could veg them under floros for a while to get some good short internodal growth and then finish the last few weeks of veg under the current setup, to save money. Obviously, this will lengthen veg time. But if you have plenty of smoke, then does that really matter?
I think its a matter of your budget and only you can know that (unless you want ME to balance your checkbook).

But from what I've see where people us supplemental lighting .... the concept you're describing seems to make sense. Good luck I'll sure be following.

About bulbs... when I get to the point I am actually making cash from this hobby, I will invest in expensive equipment. Until then I think $10 - $40 bulbs are ok. I'm sure the $160 dual spectrum speciallty 'grow' bulbs rock, but I can't see spending and extra $200 on different bulbs... at least not yet. Maybe I'll get the nice 'vortex' fans someday too.
I think you guys remember how good I am with estimating money... so who knows what this means, but I'd like to make the conversion to vertical for less than $200. Haha, probably low, but whatever.
I'm going to put up some drawings for everyone soon.
About the purple... these plants are awesome. I have the first plant hanging in two peices, the top half and bottom half. I'm trimming the bottom half of the second plant now. So sticky and smelly. Seriously stinky.
