I picked up a pack of God Bud in 2008, really enjoyed growing the seeds and smoking the bud. Around the same time a buddy ran some God Bud seeds from BCSD, pretty big difference in plants and end product. For me the JOTI was the better of the two for sure.
Over the last couple of years, I’ve tried to order other varieties from them only to get really frustrated by how long it took to get the order even processed. I’ve ordered seeds from quite a few places and had my orders processed and sent way quicker than this company. But, that being said; I spotted a strain that I was super interested in ( Apple fritter X Candy shop) and decided to try and order again. Same thing, a week before my order was looked at, and another 4 days before it was sent. I did finally get them 20 days after I initially placed the order and the seeds looked fantastic. I know 20 days doesn’t seem like a lot, but I’ve ordered from the states and Europe over the years and have had my order in half the time.
But am excited to run these seeds this summer and see what happens.

twenty days is long enough for me to think my order is lost, usually orders are filled soon after money is sent. I've had issues with Canada Post but never almost three weeks for delivery. At 44.5 degrees north I like their outdoor strains and Blueberry Afghan crosses. The fritter crosses also.

I was gifted some of his PK x Blueberry. Although the quality was decent, if I were to use one word to describe it: " Microyield ". Like, just brutal.
Nice vigor, smell, and flavor though. Maybe I just got unlucky.

Damn that sucks about yield, ill wait till I have a good supply again before I run those haha, I grabbed a pack of them a couple years ago but haven't been able to get them going yet.
I had a pretty nice yield off the joti blueberry plants I grew, but I really wish I cloned the one she was a beaut. Got some nice seeds out of her that were made with a outstanding BB male, who also knocked a couple other ladies up.
I just started a couple of seeds from that today randomly haha, blueberry×cluster bomb, the CB mom was beautiful, so dank and delicious

The customer service has sucked for many years and the company won't answer any questions about their genetics.
Given the number of breeders out there who actually GAF, I stopped dealing with JOTI long ago. I still have a Blueberry Muffin that I've been cloning for years, and Black Cali Grapes was good, but have moved on to better sources.

True that about customer service, a few years back I emailed and got some lackluster responses haha.
I have really gotten into the autoflower scene more lately, they just suit my current space and needs well.
I love being able to keep cuts of photos and all that, but I just don't have space for a veg, flower and mother spot anymore, one day I will again but not for a while.
I started doing some inventory on my seeds and realized I have almost 1000 quality cannabis seeds from such a range of breeders and gene pools, so I should not buy many more for some time that doesn't even include the 450-500 seeds I have made with some pretty nice parents with intention of working further.
I just love hoarding seeds, doesn't even have to be cannabis, I think I have hundreds of species of plants stored away

Yeah, once you start chucking the inventory grows quickly.
Same with networking with other growers. You all start sharing with each other and before you know it, you've got more than a hobbyist could ever grow.
I've reached the point I doubt I'll ever buy a seed again. I'd need an extra couple lives to grow out the stuff that I have that interests me, and a few more to get to all the crosses I'd love to make and grow out.

I've met a couple of good people through this site. Now it's legal people are less paranoid, at least in Canada.

Haha true that, I have gotten to the point where I want to get a few more specific seeds even though I don't realistically need them
Networking is a great way to share the love for sure, I always like to have some seeds to give to people who are starting out growing or just need some seeds. Everyone who wants to, should be able to grow!
I realized how many I have the other day when I went to start some seeds and realized my little cabinet drawer thing is basically full of seed packs, and freebies that should be pretty dope.
I really enjoying breeding plants, and the process of selecting for traits and observing the changes from generation to generation
What a wonderful problem to have, having too many genetics to work with that are intriguing! Haha

I keep a little spreadsheet, with quantities, flower times, parentage, etc and it lists over 3500 beans in my collection currently(I'm not bragging, I know lots of guys with waaay more).
I've got a little chuck going that will add hundreds more, and lots of little chucks to come after that.
Whenever I think about buying something, I open up the spreadsheet and there is always something to get me excited waiting in the cold storage room. I think growing seeds I made is more fun than growing somebody else's stuff.

Then there is the other type, some sort of hyper competitive business type. I met a guy last summer through a friend who was willing to sell me some cuttings as long as a I promised to never make any mothers with them. I could have lied, but instead I just said no thanks and never spoke to him again. Ironically, he didn't hunt the cut himself but got it from someone else. Greed. I much prefer to associate with people who are in it for the love of the herb. Imagine the nerve of trying to tell someone that they weren't allowed to create a mother from a cut. Lol!

Yup, that's how you build a good network, by keeping those types out.
It's one thing to ask someone not to share out your personal creation that you've gifted them, but to try to tell someone what they can do with something they bought is ludicrous (Apple, are you listening?).
There are people who are about the plant and people about the dollar. I don't consider commercial growers my peers. They are playing a completely different game from the one I enjoy.

Haha @H G Griffin good call! I had to start a docs document to keep track of everything, I was constantly forgetting about some of my seeds, and my original seed storage container is now laughably small by comparison
I agree it's more fun to grow your own crosses and what not. I think there are people who can breed really nice cannabis who aren't "established breeders". In horticulture it's really common for people to have their own incredible lines of genes that they have worked, of course there are lots of "chuckers" in that world too.
It's pretty sad how much money can delude some people into thinking the insanity they are speaking is reasonable. It is a pretty damn effective way to weed out the junky people from your community though, that is true!
I have had to reduce my "community" of growers alot after having to move and downsize heavily, I opt to let few people IRL know about my grow because it just rarely seems to cause problems, even living in Canada.
I don't grow to sell, but I like to grow more than 4 plants at a time, I just want more variety than that will allow.
I might have made a small mistake and started 20 seeds (all of which are sprouting) so I'm going to have to go find some spots to guerilla grow it looks like

I use a spreadsheet because it allows easy use of formulas so info auto-updates.
For example, one sheet has my currently growing plants. I can see at a glance how long it took to root or pop, how old it is, how long in veg and flower, how long until expected harvest, notes, and a few other columns. When I harvest, I transfer that plant's info to a different sheet that shows every plant I've grown for years, with all the pertinent data. If I want to know "how long did it take strain X to flower, I can look at every plant I've ever grown of that line and give an answer.
The sheet with my seeds collection lists when I received or grew them, lineage, expected or proven flower time, etc. and it keeps track of the total amount. Below that is a list of everything I've grown but no longer possess. I find it very handy.

I ordered some regular seeds from JOTI and got 3 autos in a pack...Got blocked in Instagram for asking about it. Before my post was deleted, others messaged me the same thing happened to them. Needless to say all those plants went in the compost. He may have been reliable before, but now this company is bullshit.
