Keep Failing At Cloning

Decided to put the advice to the test. Just took another set of clones. Rockwool soaked in ph 5.5 with a few drops superthrive and nothing else. Ran out of rockwool cubes, so used a few peat pucks. We'll see if there is any difference between success rates with the two mediums.
Cut the clones, dipped them in cloning gel, put them under a humidity dome under T5 fluoros, and placed the tray on a heating mat.
Keep your fingers crossed for me, I will updated this in one week from now, and again at 10 days and 14 days after that to see how things are progressing.
Ok, so rapid rooters seem to be a popular alternative to rockwool and peat pucks.
Why are they better?
And does anyone know where to get them in Canada? A quick web search of local suppliers turned up no results.

Vitamin B1 based products (like Superthrive) have been scientifically proven to be completlely pointless and ineffective...stop wasting your money bro
EDIT: And pH-ing water for cloning is funny...do you guys even know the reason you pH stuff?

i made my own bubble cloner, fuckin awesome shit man, 100% success everytime. Fuck man, i even dip each and every cutting right into my clonex bottle and let em each sit in it for bout 20 seconds.... no signs of contamination yet, and the bottle is bout a year old lol. Also i am still using the same razor blade as i always have since i started cutting clones...... so yea..... it's rusty as fuck, and i never clean it.......... also i never leave my cuttings underwater in a cup either, i snip em all and lay them on the table and they get dealt with one by one,,,, never had to such thing as air in my stem....LOL .............. what i am trying to say is that the bubble cloner is probably one of the most easy and forgiving ways to clone out there...... and it is in no way difficult bro.... you should build one, and never look back

The superthrive was given to me as a sample when I ordered some nutrients, so it cost me nothing and I may as well use it for something.
Regarding your second comment - I ph my rockwool because it's too alkaline.
For christ sakes it says right on the bloody package that you must soak with ph down or lemon juice to 5.5 before using. Maybe they just put that on the package for shits and giggles right?
Oh, and then there are the four different grow bibles that I own, which each state explicitly that you must ph down rockwool cubes before cloning.
So the question is, are you being facetious or are you are just trying to be a dick and start yet another fucking ph debate?
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate everyone's input, but I think I'll take Cervantes', et al's word on the ph issue.

First off, read the edit again, I didn't say anything about you setting the pH of your rockwool,I said pHing water for cloning so don't be so quick to get butt-hurt, the edit was to avoid a double post, nothing to do with your quote.
Secondly if youre using rockwool I assume you're in hydro, so pHing is essential.
Thirdly grow bibles are generally collections of stuff that is unproven and about as reliable as most of the crap you read here. Cervantes also says to flush your plants before harvest, is he automatically right? Fuck no. He openly admits to plagiarising stuff from everywhere and putting it in one place, so stop putting all your faith in a book.
Finally, chill out brother and smoke a joint, the whole world ISN'T after you, so don't overreact all the time.
PS: pHing in decent soil is pointless tho

only time my cloner failed me was when i tried using my tap water, which is 9.0-10 ph. REMEMBER, fresh pure cuts like fresh purified water ...... I am telling you thsi shit in hopes that you listen to me m8, i was once in your shoes a while ago, thinking that the clone gods just did not like me at all..... i was about to give up, then i read a lil article on someone's DIY bubble cloner and now i am a clone master. word of advice...... if and when you decide to make your bubble cloner always remember...... the more air bubbles you can make in it,,,, the better...

Make sure your root temps are no higher than 78 degrees try for 76. No light to the roots.

i feel for you in such a way that i just searched for the DIY model i built from, only difference is i put in 4 6" airstones and mine has 14 sites. same size tote and everything though. and i didnt use a noodle for my pucks, i had a draft stopper you put under your door and it had the perfect size foam pieces that would fit into the cloner holes, i just had to cut 14 3/4" pucks outta it and BAM....done http://forum.grasscity.com/do-yourself/359144-diy-bubble-cloner.html I hope you will be enlightened enough from me ranting that you will go and make one and be done with all the fuckin turmoil

I just ph a 400ppm nutrient solution. No humidity dome, no stimulant. 100% success rate. 10 inch roots in 10 days.

400. wow huge waste of food with no roots to eat it. wont do anything as they cant uptake more than needed but just hot mix to me. ive done 200 and it goes but its dam slow compared to my other methods. its just me i know it is., not used it much so i need to just adjust something that im not thinking about or something when i do it. i kn ow it should be better and is why i didnt just smash it against the wall...yet. it is a complete waste of money though and especialy for 400 to 500 bucks. i can make alot of clones in trays for that cost and do just as well

its another of the miss read pieces of info. ph for wool so it wont fall apart, says right oin my packs the reason but the others not needed as there is nor roots yet to need ph, same when we foliar

Again tho, the pH of the water you use for cloning is irrelevant.
Water pH is what effects the availability of nutrients to the roots...cuttings don't have roots nor does one add ferts to the water. Thus pH is irrelevant
its not a must again but why wash unused food down a drain when if ph`d the plant will eat it.; if not it has struggles to eat on a water day..not a must again but it sure saves food and money and to me is important. and may cause something called pH imballance form to much swinging up and down by not being consiatant. this can lock out plants

ya dood i totaly agree cloners are a money pit and nothing more. sure look fancy though so people get fooled. like we all say why spend 400 when a 5 buck clone tray does as well and as fast if not better for some....anyone one a used 2 times new cloner....lol
