Keeping my grow room warm

this is my first time..so correct me if it wouldn't work but i was going to veg there also, for circulation could i have a airtight place and open it maybe twice a day to heat it up and that would provide enough airflow for the plants? thanks for showing interest by the way
...you might need a dehumidifer in there if you go this route, bad air exchange will invite mildew.

I have my light time at night for those reasons aswell so thats fine, not sure about keeping a flowering/vegging area together in the same place at the same time tho?

i agree with AP about the lights my two 400w hps's dont even raise the temps in my room 20 F but where i live right now the temps at night get down to 14 F so i just got a little $10 home depot space heater with a built in t stat and it works great and im assuming this cabinet is not in your home at least i hope not with temps like that lol but i would keep the cabinet open as much as possible when the lights are on for some fresh air should be alright.

thanks ill look into that, if i kept the place airtight would it maintain a good temperature though u think? or what if i space heated it for like an hour a day to get it up to 80 degrees or so then left it closed..maybe it could maintain 70+ degrees for maybe 12-24 hrs?
If it is airtight then the plants cannot breathe... You need a steady flow of fresh air to the plants.

And no, space heating it will not keep the temp that high for more than an hour.

You are going to need to put the plants in 12 hours of darkness every night for them to flower so if it is that cold they will be stunted or die.

you ideally need an inlet and outlet fan ( with a light trap) and preferably an oscillating fan in with the plants to help strengthen stems, no circulation or an airtight container will produce if anything, weak fragile plants with risk of bud rot if they got that far- ventilation is a must and should never be substituted for keeping the space warm. I know its a bind but it doesnt need to be expensive- computer fan and clip on fans should be cheap to pick up, but your heating needs to be sorted also if your gonna grow in cool temps, or get a variety that is more hardy to cold temps?

Edit :
just to clarify are you thinking of keeping some in veg whilst you flower others or will they all be in veg then flower together?

No inlet fan or exhaust ? personally i dont think you need a dehumidifier to start of with in veg- i didnt but then again i do have inlet and outlet fans, the rest looks fine, checking on plants in light cycle is fine also but i wouldnt go checking in dark or any light might end up stressing em out.

does it need exhaust? its a pretty big room, but yea it needs dehumidifer, it has humid air where it is, and yea not gonna check on when lights are off
