Kevin's House?

How is this different from Trump?
it isn't, much..."A liar got elected to public office today, even though it's transparently obvious they're a bald faced liar. They should be barred from the office, but our sick, broken laws allow such awful people to keep their office, even when it becomes apparent that they are bald faced liars."

who was that statement about?....trump? santos? cruz? greene? boebert? gaetz?.....a list that would fill this endless virtual page...

lalochezia (uncountable) (rare) The use of vulgar or foul language to relieve stress or pain.
I called Roger Shrubbers language "keyboard tourrette's" in a different post and time.
His use of obscenities almost relieves my stress and pain. So it's contagiously transference. TY Roger.
thanks...it's nice to be appreciated...
but you all seem to think i have no control over it. i have complete control, i just choose not to exercise it at all times.
i find it cathartic, and honestly, polite terms just fail to convey the frustration, the contempt, the anger i feel at these people and their fucked up ideas of right and wrong. the ones that know they're wrong and do it anyway, i could cheerfully feed into a tree chipper, and sleep the sleep of the just, knowing i had made the world a better place.

From: https://www.forbes.com/sites/brianbushard/2023/01/07/kevin-mccarthys-concessions-heres-what-he-gave-up-to-win-house-speakership/

McCarthy, who won the speakership after 15 rounds of voting, agreed to vote separately on the 12 different appropriation bills—from agriculture to defense spending to transportation—rather than allow them to be bundled together into an end-of-year omnibus spending bill.

The 12 separate votes were a key ask of far-right dissenters, after conservative House GOP members blasted the $1.65 trillion omnibus bill that passed the House last month, with Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) telling Fox News the House rules should never allow a “horrendous omnibus bill to ever pass ever again.”

McCarthy also agreed to cap discretionary spending at the levels they were at the beginning of the Biden Administration for both defense and domestic spending, as part of a commitment to balance the federal budget within 10 years.

Several House Republicans, however, criticized the measure, which could reduce national defense spending by $75 billion, with Rep. Mike Waltz (R-Fla.), reportedly arguing it could back the government “into sequestration.”

In response to a letter from GOP members, McCarthy also agreed to create a subcommittee on the “Weaponization of the Federal Government,” which would be tasked with probing the federal government’s information collection on private individuals as well as its ongoing criminal investigations, potentially including the Department of Justice’s probe into classified documents at former President Donald Trump’s Mar-A-Lago estate.

McCarthy also agreed to reinstitute the Holman rule, a law that allows for the reduction in government officials’ salaries and any other compensation paid by the U.S. Treasury.

In one of his biggest concessions, McCarthy agreed to lower the number GOP conference members needed to start a process of removing the speaker, known as a “motion to vacate,” from five to one—even though he previously said he wouldn’t budge on the number, and some Republicans worry it could bog down the House with weekly power struggles.

McCarthy also agreed to keep the Congressional Leadership Fund—a McCarthy affiliated super PAC—out of open House primary races for seats considered safe, and to appoint far-right House Freedom Caucus members to seats on the House Rules Committee.

Also: He promised to give House members 72 hours to review bills before they come to the floor, to require a vote to raise the federal debt limit and to hold votes on congressional term limits and a border security plan, multiple outlets reported.
Things will pay for themselves once the wealthy pony up.

yeah...they do realize that this horseshit has to pass the senate?...and that ain't gonna happen.
it's going to be a VERY frustrating 2 years for the seditionist...probably somewhat for the democrats who have to deal with them as well, but for very different reasons.
Jack would do well to subpoena members of the House immediately and cut them off at the knees.

Too bad the squad didn’t exert this kind of pressure. We could have had votes on healthcare, minimum wage, campaign finance, but no, they caved to pelosi.
The "Squad" didn't exert this kind of pressure because this kind of pressure is a very small increment away from domestic terrorism.
It's closely akin to fascism. It's kissin' cousins with coercion. it's why we're all looking down on the dirty fucks that ARE exerting this kind of pressure...
which won't get them what they're after, anyway. they will be checked, vetoed, shut down, on 90% of the crap they intend to try. The judicial system knows they cannot allow the legislature to meddle in the justice system. the first time they try, the DOJ will take them to court and win. they'll NEVER be able to subpoena evidence from an ongoing investigation, the very idea is ludicrously stupid.
but...that's how their team plays ball...our squad knows the rules.

Just their public statements and lies about witnesses will cause them trouble, why do you think Biden and other politicians don't comment on ongoing cases?

The GOP house under the control of MAGA desperados declared war on the DOJ and administration in an effort to obscure and hide their crimes by abusing the power of their offices. They seek to impede, subvert and obstruct justice, Jack is watching this emerging threat and expecting it, I don't think he is a bit afraid, in fact he might view it as an opportunity. Jack might have a really big ace up his sleeve with Mark though and if he does the fuckers will sweat bullets. Also, if there is a threat to cut funding to the investigation or FBI next year, it will only greatly speed up the process of going after these assholes, because there is evidence and we have seen it involving many of them and the DOJ knows much more at this point.

I don't think the house republicans will win this fight, the DOJ has a lot more power to investigate than they do and most importantly, it can prosecute the fuckers, if there is a case and there looks like there might be a few to be made.

I’m thinking that if agent orange were still in the saddle, George Santos would have scored a seat on the ethics committee.
Yep, too bad about Santos, that boy had talent and potential, he could have gone far in the GOP, he was kinda like their Obama... A promising career in politics tragically cut short by the truth and probable indictments.

That is insulting and demeaning...to clowns.
you think 39 republicans could cram themselves into a tiny little car?
when have republicans ever throw a bucket of confetti on a crowd?
can republicans even make balloon animals? i doubt it. :?
1) can an industrial olive-oil press be recruited?
2) when they got to use a cannon
3) it’s a lot like how they legislate!

how do you know that? i've looked for what will happen to the seat if he's indicted or more likely, deported.
i can't find one straight answer anywhere, over 3 search engines.
I haven't looked into NY election laws. But in round numbers it depends on how much time is left in his term when he leaves. The Governor could appoint someone if there isn't much time left. Or they could have a special election.
