im going to have to find me some mylar or equivalent and figure out a way to raise my humidity so i can take the domes off. My temps aren't quite so fucked since i put the fan in but the leaves start to wilt almost immediately after i take the dome off. Any advice would be appreciated..

What is your humidity? I highly doubt you need those domes I don't know why people put them over seedlings they don't need it. The plants may simply be wilting because of shock from the rapid humidity change but unless your humidity is super low you shouldn't have any problems. You could also probably move some of those plants closer to the lights.

These babies are stretching like crazy, get those lights closer homeboy and bury them to their neck too :-o

thanks for the input, please stick around
the humidity is at around 28% , the one i have in the dwc doesnt wilt at all but the others go pretty quick. I potted 2/3 blueberry last night and will do the last one tonight. they stretched because i had no light on my jiffy greenhouse, i believe. I have a 20 watt cfl on it now and the last one is still pretty stumpy, so hopefully that helps. Ive got afghani and purple indica seeds commin, so im hoping to iron out most of the kinks with the bagseed.

I would say try to slowly lower the humidity on them and you should eventually be able to take them out of the domes. Or take them out and spray them with some water once in a while until they get used to it. They should be able to survive in that just fine they will just transpire more so they will need a larger root system and you will have to water them a bit more often. You can raise the humidity by putting some standing water in the grow area as well.

A little more info about what you're looking at
the cab has 4-23w 6500k 2-43w 6500k and 4-23w 2700k and it is about 2x4x2 (thats a guess Ill measure it). I have an oscillating fan, about 10 inches. 4/5 bagseed in miracle grow seed starter and one in a midget dwc. feeding minimal nutes. the jiffy greenhouse is under a 20 watt ottlite plant lite. im not sure of the kelvin on that one. and a small heating pad underneath. for flowering Ive got a 400 hps right now, but will be upgrading. still have to construct the flower box. thinking 4x4x6.

nuthin crappy about em. actually your babies look great. especially for a first timer. most first timers are on here asking why there babies are shriveling and dying. those look awsome so far....good job keep it up

lol thanks i forgot to mention i started with 12 hempstar and went on a killing spree, but i think ive settled down a bit.

so i threw a few cups of water into the cab and my humidity rose 4% in about 5 minutes. hopefully that solves that for the time being. im considering swapping all of the 23w's for 43ws or doubling up on the Y splitters. what do you guys think? 20 x 23w or 10 x 43w? oh and if anybody has any comments about the retarded looking ones im open to constructive critisism.

a few updated pics.
I cooked the shit out of one of them and had to trim off a bunch of burnt leaves. I will post a pic of whats left later.

pretty rough lookin hey?:wall::wall:

i have to say they are coming along fairly well, good work, as for the stretched ones distance from light might have alot to do with that

Thanks, its been quite a learning experience.

I actually lowered them to try and get them to stretch a bit. (the hempstars) The seedlings just seem to stretch right off the bat, no matter how much light i give them, at least until the first leaves are a bit bigger, then they calm down.:-P

Good recovery, the initial pictures looked like a sad story waiting to be written but they pushed through the beating. I am very new to Indoor and even newer with CFL's. Only problem I see is when you get bigger leaves. The bulbs may not be enough to feed it. Somewhere I read about a bulb to plant's imaginary square foot ratio. It read something like 1 23wCFL to every 1/3sq/ft. May be something to look into. Good job so far +REP

Tell me about it, I thought it still looked pretty bad until i saw the pics again.

When i get bigger leaves hopefully I will be using a MH. But I did have about 4700 lumens per square foot with the cfls before I started cooking stuff. Even now I have over 400w in the cab, with 20 bulbs. Thanks for checking it out :bigjoint:
