I have been looking for this patent ever since it was mentioned in the other thread. Has anyone found it?

BTW there are lots of patents related to LEDs and quantum dots. The big question is whether their QDs are cadmium free...
Have you tried contacting Alta led directly???......... as they would be the only ones who would actually know, or it's just marketing BS by them......

good luck

If most folks are eschewing single points of light >50w in favor of more driven softer, how is a 500w cob useful to anyone here?

Isnt the ideal situation a sun equivalent umol/sqft distributed over the entire ceiling surface of your cab/closet/warehouse?

I guess with a light mover?

Same crazy chip(alta=mole richardson=Innoled(rip))................still have no idea how they will cool this thing because the 100w ver didn't like being passively cooled with a big-ass heatsink..............sizzle,sizzle:fire:

https://www.rollitup.org/t/testing-innoleds-120w-horticultural-led-fixture-let-there-be-warm-white-high-cri-light.827672/page-4

First of all I like to apologize for our website. We are in the middle of revamping it with new specs and new chip design. We're always 2 steps ahead with our technology and cannot catch up with everything. You will not find much out there regarding Quantum Dot Technology related to LED's. That's our secret sauce and we have a patent on it.:-)

Here's a sneak preview of our 500W chip design. This particular chip is made for Mole Richardson. This 500W will replace your 2000W HPS system and it's smaller than our current 100W chip design.

I was referring to patents that Innoled claim to have. I'm guessing that they have a phosphor / QD blend in their silicone encapsulant in their COBs. I did lots of searches for both Innoled and Alta in the US application and issued patents databases and turned up nothing.

Anyone seen or heard of this report? Seems to contain a good chunk of info on growing with LEDs, the Chinese market and the future of the LED based grow light industry or at least where it's going and at only $3900.00 for a single license it's reasonably priced enough for whomever gets me as their Secret Santa this year :P. Click on the link for the full description of the report and the full TOC.

Innoled is no more.............They where always just using Alta's cobs from down the street. That's why I said to contact them directly about the patents claims on their website.

good luck

I'd say this report is far from comprehensive. No mention of Heliospectra, Illumitex, Lumigrow, Valoya, and many other significant market leaders?

On the other hand, it does provide some interesting insight into the Asian market

Hello AFN,
I am really sorry this has taken so long, we wanted to make sure that the quality of the product reflected the time and hard work invested before we brought it to market.

Without further delay.....

Introducing

The Holographic Series 1 LED grow light. Designed and manufactured in Britain by Grownorthern. This is the first LED grow light to truly comprise the very latest in LED technology and manufacture.

The new grow light uses the acclaimed high performance Philips Rebel LEDs along with specialized infrared LED's from LEDengine, both components known for there industry leading outputs and longevity.
The LED module and cooling solution are powered by a 2015 Philips Xitanium Digital driver. The new Digital drivers combines intelligent data handling and smooth, precise drive. Unlike traditional AC/DC led drivers, digital drivers can diagnose, adjust and automate the entire LED system. So for example your grow rooms ambient temperature is rising beyond a safe limit, the driver will dim the LED's so the light stays on but the LED module and driver stay protected from overheating. Each Holographic series light has its own digital address and can as send data bi-directionally allowing up to 64 units to communicate down one bus to a single command centre. This allows you to remotely dim and turn off multiple scenes of lights or individual lights and request diagnostics of temperature, power consumption, run time etc.

Traditional cooling fans make way for the Nuventix Synjet, a revolutionary active cooling solution that produces turbulent jets of air across the heatsink. Using a frictionless oscillating magnetic diaphragm the Synjet delivers near silent cooling and a 200,000 hour lifespan. So not only is this superior to traditional cooling fans, it is also far more reliable and keeps your grow room whisper quiet.

The Holographic series was named after the innovative new optical system. The multi stage optical system uses high optically efficient materials and lens designs. This includes a specially engineered micro structure optic (a Holographic Diffuser) which maintains light in the beam angle whilst producing a highly homogeneous spread of light. The optical system can be quickly and easily interchanged allowing you to adjust the beam angle to deliver the correct light intensity or spread requirement at any height restriction.

We're hoping to have the lights available to buy through the Grownorthern and Dutch passion sites next Friday the 19th along with more pictures and detailed information.

Hey Ronin,

Great questions, the new light can be connected to a bridge/command centre via the blue data connector on the back of the light (up to 64 lights per command centre) The command centre then can be connected to a computer direct via USB or through zigbee (Requires zigbee dongle) to run diagnostics, dimming, on/off etc.

There are two existing software packages for this depending on the bridge used and they will be free to download when the command centre is released. The protocol used to control the lights is DALI there are already many DALI dimmers, bridges and software packages available that will be able to control the dimming levels of the new lights in scenes down a single bus whether or not they can recall the diagnostics and change power levels for individual lights i'm not sure and would assume most can't.

So how do you know if your light is automating the power level, quite simply you can just read the temperature of your grow room from a thermometer. Once the ambient grow room temperature (not the temperature of the LED module or driver) hits 40C° and continues to climb the light will very gradually start dimming. In extreme environments this setting can be raised on request to start its dimming at 50C°.

If the thermal pad temperature is allowed rise to a certain point the LED's relative intensity will droop at an accelerated rate, therefore lowering the current to the LED's at high temperatures to maintain a lower temperature will maintain the overall efficiency of the system. I guess the other way of looking at it is if your grow room rises to the ambient temperature of 40-50C° (the max ambient temperature for the modular series) and your light doesn't protect itself against overheating then it will break.

We think this is fantastic feature one of many which we will keep adding info about on the AFN over the next week.

So, there's little regulation on writing the term "patent pending" on anything. Patent pending means that you applied for a patent, but there is no patent yet issued or it hasn't been rejected. It's difficult to prove that an application hasn't been submit
Lots of companies consider any patent filings, including provisional patent filings, to be 'patent pending'. IMO they should wait until they file the official utility application, which eventually gets published after filing or by the time an examiner gets around to the app
