EQE is the external quantum efficiency. That is the magic number...As one can see amongst the nitride group, the efficiency drops off in a hurry, except when "acceptor doping" is applied (in this case, I believe it was Mg as dopant). Tradeoff? A little off the front, but extensions out the back! It's like a semiconductor mullet.

You could get even higher efficiency if you are focused on heat OR you could get it done cheaper using Veros if you are trying to minimize cost.

Each Vero10 would dissipate 7W @ 41% efficiency. That would give you 11.5 PAR W/ft² or 568 PPFD average.

Thanks, this might be the only useful answer. ^^

Curious though, isn't 80 volts stupidly high? Does that driver even run at 80 volts? It says it's 300mA and 40-75volts output? Does that mean you can adjust the drivers voltage? Or does voltage just fluctuate with amperage?

Your posts really didn't add anything and they were mildly insulting.

I know that LEDS can only handle a certain amount of current, I know that it's best to not be on one of the extremes. I know that lower current = greater efficiency and higher = greater light output.

The question was how I could adjust said variables to provide the most favorable outcome. For example, low amps and high volts, low volts and high amps. Most bulbs you just plug them in and they go, this is not the case with LEDS and it's not exactly intuitive where you should be on the spectrum.

Last time I checked LEDS are far from figured out, spectrums, efficiency comparisons, assembly questions...that's pretty much what this sub-forum is for. I'm sorry if my lack of an electrical engineering degree has disturbed you, please refrain from posting in my threads if you have no interest in being on topic or even pleasant.

This is a thread where I am asking a question I don't know....because I am a newbie. How could I possibly contribute to a topic I am clueless on?

If you check my posts in the other subforums you will see that I do indeed try to answer others questions in topics where I am informed.

You on the other hand are going out of your way to be the exact opposite of positive.
