LED are pretty new to me though, and I was very reluctant to replace HID with LED. Especially when many companies were calling their lights 2000w equal, and only pulling maybe 300w, and didnt state umol. Im currently experimenting with 1 Gavita 1700e to compare with a 1000w Hortilux HPS.
So now I simply look for how many watts they are actually pulling, and what types of Diodes they use, and if they state umol, and If they aint Samsung/Osram, I wont use them. And if they grossly overrate their products thats a really really big turnoff. At least people should be truthful, and let their lights stand on the real merits.
I really hate misleading advertising, and is why I avoided LED for so long.
The Gavita 1700e is 42.5w sq/ft, and that is my standard. Good enough for Gavita. Good enough for me.
Phillips does make a more powerful light pulling less wattage, but they wont sell individually.
Phillips has a 630w light that is 1800umol.
They will only sell 40 at a time for $32,000 USD. But that is cheap at $800 USD per light.
They are called Phillips Greenpower Compact Top Lighting
