Hey as long as it works for you, we seem to agree that theres some ac power going to the driver thru the plug and timer.I really appreciate your interest and obvious knowledge. The only thing that shuts the light off completely is unplugging it. Tried properly wired outlets, no difference. Suppose i could try the light in a different house but for now theres just enough juice to keep glowing and she likes the “full moon” every night. Thanks again for helping.
The idea of this being by design though, nah, thats not going to be it and i think its better not going there: people read this ages after when something isnt working and might believe this and not take appropriate action in the time frame they have (returns or whatever). Ill have to pushback on moonlight by design but ill leave spock out of it.
If you wanted to change timers the sonoff system seems popular and with bells and whistles (wifi / metering / temp-rh probes) and can be wired rather than plugged.
