room temp is entirely dependent on the wattage you put in there and the biggest heatsinks in the world wont make it any cooler
I know you sell cob lights but what is your opinion on this light for the cost of $150
http://vi.raptor.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemDescV4&item=272582672174&category=178989&pm=1&ds=0&t=1507945032000&ver=0&cspheader=1
Is there better options for the cost. I currently have 1700 watts of cheap led China style only one is 800 watt cob but still elcheapo. On top of my 600 hps which I want to eliminate due to power cost. I don't have much $ I grow just for me my wife and her sister both my wife and her sister are disabled I'm beat a tumor but continue to medicate for that among other health problems my wife has seizures. I'm allowed 12 plants and so is my wife only have a 5x5 room to flower in closet for veg. Need to be able to flower 4 plants 4 to 5 foot tall 2ft wide in order not to run out. My canopy is full and short. I want to invest in cob lights but can only scratch together $150 or $100 at times with 3 kids a wife who has had 2 fusions in the last two years and needs 2 more I struggle to stay afloat saving that $100 or $150 is next to impossible if I don't buy a light when I have it something will come up. So after my stoned babble sorry just burned one after working at my mother in laws my only day off in a month (for free of course) ok done babble $150 best cob option for a 5x5 flower room.

for $150 you can build a more powerful and efficient light. i know nothing about that company's products and cant speak to their build quality etc.

in general i tend to stay away from companies who just make shit up

(like "200Wx2", when CXB3070s run to their absolute limit (not very efficient) barely top 100W)

One other thing...sorry. is supercloset a good company? My wife is really pushing me to go with them. It jist all seems so overpriced.
depends how much work you want to do, those closets look cool but yeah they are overpriced. the lights included are not great. I mean the closets might not be bad but you can do the same with a tent off amazon for 100 bucks, some ducting lights and system, could build the same thing for like 500$ perhaps?

I NEED HELP. I am knew to all this. Thinking of growing one day. Our state is looking at going legal so I am trying to figure all this stuff out. I want to do LED lights and all this stuff is making my head hurt. With all the Chinese stuff and everyone making false clams I honestly do not know what light to buy. I'd be willing to have someone build me one if they do that sorta thing. But if no one here does that can you recommend a light. Not even sure what tent to get yet if you guys have any recommendations that be awesome also.

Anyways, I have a 4x3 area....not sure. I may go with a 4x2 or a 4x3 tent. I'm leaning toward the 4x3 if my wife will let me havr the extra foot.

So can you please recommend a good light that will put out a good yield....full spectrum for a 4x2 and 4x3 area. I dont have a ton to spend but will get what I need. Maybe and affordable rec. And another more expensive one.

Thanks so much. Sorry if I'm a bother.
timber grow lights, rapid led, chilled led, pacific light concepts, all make great lights for that size space. Or you can DIY your own with cobs for even cheaper. You need to figure out what you want to spend first. You can grab a tent on amazon cheap. I like my apollo tents. durable enough.

Can you send me info on a lot for $150 range. This would be my first build. I have no clue. But I'm sure I can figure it out. Thanks. Ya that's what I thought 200wx2 nothing I've seen just from reading other people's builds.

depends on how handy you are. if you can build a frame something simple like this 150W rig

2 luminus cxm22 $34
2 133mm heatsinks $38
hlg120h-48A $36
chip holders and pads $6
_____________________
$120

this 200W 4-cob rig is a little more output as well as a little more efficient:

4 luminus cxm22 $68
4 120mm heatsinks $67
hlg185h-48A $49
chip holders and pads $12
_____________________
$200

you could do something in between depending on shape of your space. selection of 2/3/4 cobs is often dictated by shape of space

Have you ever run a PAR test on CXM 22 3000k 90 CRI ?

I'm a first time grower and I started out with LEDs, I'm currently using 3 600 watt full spectrum LEDs in a 4x4 grow tent running grow bro co2 generator. I'm in my 2nd week so far and here is a pic of one of them. This are blueberry autos, I have to say for my first time it looks good, hopefully ppl will agree. I'm using 10 gallon smart pots filled to about 7 gallons and FFOF soil.

Hey all, been awhile since I logged in here. Just wanted to give a quick shout out to the LED community. A little back ground about my grows, first off I am not scientific about any of my growing, I have mostly just grew some simple stuff out doors. Mostly a Northern Lights and a few lemon drop, and then alot of random bag seed . I have dabbled indoors with small hid grows using 150w hps. Always just kept them real small indoors as I have always been limited on space. Ive done some pineapple express autos and some kush fromage autos.
I had at one time took a northern lights plant that I grew out 3 times and forced it to hermy by literally just beating her up with some real hot soil and high dry temps in a hot box under an old HPS that I had. Mind you she was an old girl and I felt bad for not letting her reproduce. Well it didnt take long for her to put out some bananas under those harsh conditions and she seeded her self. In the mean time I had a couple Seedism Seeds Cheese running and I stole a bit of the northern lights pollen and pollinated a few small buds of the cheese and gathered a nice amount of seeds from them.
Ive ran several grows with this strain and its a really wonderful smoke. Nice amount of crystals, and when smoked the piney flavor of the NL hits your nose and tongue first, with a strong cheese flavor in the back of your throat and nose upon exhaling.
Now its been awhile since I have been able to do a run of these seeds , but recently I was able to start another small indoor grow and I needed to get a light. My first instinct was to just go with my tried and true small HPS, but I really wanted to try to maximize my yield this time as these are the last few seeds from those mothers. I decided to look into LED lights and I also wanted to get something that I could afford. So I took the plunge and I ordered a King Plus 800w LED from amazon. $110 bucks shipped.
WOW. Im 7 days into this running a 12/12 from seed grow to keep them small. ( again limited space ) in a 40 gallon tub on end. Using a cheap $13 exhaust fan from lowes and some of the reflective insulation. I am absolutely now converted to LED. I can not believe the way they have responded to this light. Tight nodes and Allready putting out side shoots and a third node. Got some pics below ,, 1 pic of one of these seeds from last year 1 of the buds from her , and another of the current seedlings on 12/12 from seed 7 days since they poked their heads up. All in all Im pretty happy with this light for what it is.

Hey guys! I'm new to the forum and it's great to interact with you now.
Said that,I would like to ask something that probably the most experienced users have read several times:
I've been growing with HPS lighting since I've been in this game. Now I'm looking to move into something a little bit bigger (5x5 / 6.5x6.5 grow box all covered in mylar),and I'm willing to jump on LEDs. Considering the fact that that I don't have a limited budget and the maximum Wattage from the wall I want to pull is 1000w,and considering a light perfect for veg and flowering: wich light do you think is the best on the market. I'm looking for a already made light (or somebody who builts them like a DIY) because I'm a mess at DIYing :/ . I've seen HLG QB and they look great,COBs and so on; but being ignorant in LEDs lighting I would like to have an advice from you. I just would like to know the best thing (considering the data that I wrote) that money can buy right now.
Thanks guys:peace:

I want a 4x3 tent but can not find one. So I guess Im gonna have to settle for a 3x3 grow tent. So whatever I need for a 3x3. Not sure what Id need to mount it. How much would you charge me to build and mount a light for a 3x3 tent. I'll make sure I buy from you in the future if you stock me a food deal and send everyone I know to you.
Try a 4x4......Nice having added foot for fans, etc.

HLG 550 is my advice. Theyre are also some really cool DIY kits if you've got a proclivity for learning. Message me and I can help you out.

The drivers have built in safety features and your heatsinks are appropriately sized and passive so no fans to break. I had a customer who just lost 3 out of 8 clu058 as they were being run hard on active coolers and the power strip feeding the fans clicked off. That cant happen with chips at 50w on passives

Its been many moons since I posted here in this thread, or in the LED section at all, for that matter. This is mainly due to me moving on to using multiple CMH 315's in my garden nowadays. That being said, I have been very eager to try out some COB lighting, as well. So I added a nice, new, Tasty T22-4000/80 COB light to one of my 3x3 tents. I'm very pleased with the results so far.

All my leds are forced air cooling and passive cooling will be top of the list for replacements someday. Until then my slightly dated COBs and more dated a51s will have to do!

That is unfortunate but really just poor design, isn't it? And i say that in the most practical way, not trying to be pedantic or derogatory either....
A simple way would be run a $3 solid state relay that shuts the mains when the fan loses power.
Even easier is to run a re-settable thermal switch or a thermocouple can work too, but that is a combination of mechanical/digital

Heck, even a well placed Zeneer diode could have stopped the damage from occuring.

Maybe this is something you should consider selling? Prices are minimal on a few simple pieces and everything is inline with current circuitry.....Just a suggestion.

Or at least make the suggestion in the future?

Hey everybody who is using LEDs out there. Lets join up and start chattin about this and that. Figuring crap out. Seeing what works for you, but not me, etc. etc.

It would be much appreciated if only people who USE CURRENTLY leds for mostly full grows, or vegetative grows using only LEDs.

HID users, we already know you are better than us, and your buds are bigger than ours. But there is a first time for everything, and a new beginning at ever end of something old.

ALSO IF YOU ARE AN LED SALESMAN TRYING TO SELL YOUR PRODUCT THIS IS NOT THE THREAD FOR YOU! STAY AWAY! IF YOU ARE AFFILIATED WITH A COMPANY AND HAVE BIAS FEEDBACK WITHOUT RESULTS. STAY AWAY!

Thank you all, and I hope this thread EXPLODES in growth...

So, I’m a dummy on LED lights but need to use them because of power supply in the bedroom I chose for my tent. I bought a 2’ x 2’ tent setup. I’m only growing autos in it. There’s enough room for 3 plants. They vegged our perfectly but flowering wasn’t happening like it should so I started looking at the light that came with the setup (300 watt) and discovered that it was for seedlings & veg ONLY! I ordered this light to start over. I know I’m not going to win any “big bud” awards but surely I can get good enough bud for my personal use. Did I fuck up again with this new light? Opinions please.
