I would just be flowering in a 4x4 for now. I just need something decent for veg, then plan to combine both lights into the 4x4 with flower. The LEC does real well in a 3x3, just trying to keep it cheap and decent. Not a fan of mars hydro's old fixtures but this line seems like they are headed in the right direction! https://www.mars-hydro.com/led-grow-light/mars-fc-series-led-grow-light/buy-fc-3000-300w-3x3-energy-saving-full-spectrum-commercial-led-grow-light-mars-hydro-for-sale
4x4 is almost twice as big as 3x3. I think 4x4 would be awesome with three 315s and quite good with two, which is the level you are used to in your tent. To reach that you need to supply additional ~600 umol photons per second and spread the light around... which might be a problem with the shape of mars unit. Looking at their par map the unit alone should be good for a 4x4, but the measurements seem far too good to be true, imo.

If diy is ok I would suggest placing the 315 in the middle and strips around it.

I still have my leds very close to the tops. Things seem good. The leaves did become a little papery/hard/crisp/something, but I gave them a little canna boost yesterday when I topped up the buckets and today the leaves are smooth again. Dunno. Will be keeping an eye on them. This plant is about 11" from the top of the hydroton. I couldn't figure out how to set up strings or nets for dwc so I've just been crushing and bending.

Looking for a little advice from the experts about board orientation. Ive got a 4' solacure Flower Power lamp with the "mini fixture" which measures 1.25" wide, and (4) qb120's to fit onto a fixture.
Right now I've got the qb's running right down the center. But in order to fit the 4' uv bulb and fixture, im gonna have to mount the qb's to each side of the uv. I could have went with the 2' lamp, but it recieves the same power as the 4' bulb, and is twice as bright. Im more comfortable with low and slow, especially when trying new things.

Should I mount the quantum boards equal distances from the edge longways? Im building the fixture out of 1/2" steel square tubing, and the dimensions for it are 46.5" x 23.25". If spaced equally, that would put each board approx 8" from the end, with 8" spacing in between. Im curious if the space in between the 2 lights should be more because of light pattern overlap? Say 12" in between the lights, with 6" from the edge.

I just don't know what the spread angle looks like. I see par readings, but what angle approx does the light come out at?

Im not holding my breath about getting an exact number on that angle, but any advice would be helpful. I appreciate it.

Thinking of switch from 1000w mh/hps to California lightworks 1100 solar system uvb mostly because of $500 electric bills. What should I expect as far as final weight and quality? Normally pulling over 2 pounds a grow with my current set up. Thanks for any reply.

This is my first LED grow, 600W I've had it set on full spectrum from seed. 6weeks into flower and the buds are very dense I'm impressed. Last grows were CFL and I'll never go backIMG_20201001_184754.jpg

hello to all gardeners ... I was willing to switch to LEDs but I can't decide which is best for this answer your advice. I have a 6m2 room that I use only for flowering. What do you suggest? Thanks in advance

For an 8x8' area I would use x2, Amare Bar-8 's & a Bar-4. Probably the most versatile fixture on the mkt. Gen2 will be releasing in about a month. You can count on about 25% off msrp listed price when purchasing direct.
Other nice lights are HLG, GrowLightsAustrallia, The Green Sunshine company, for less expensive, Budget led, HortiBloom maybe. Hortrilux x6 bar light.
Only ones I've used/own & can truly speak on are HLG & AMARE Though.
Can't go wrong with CMH either. For them I'd recommend SunPlix.
What's your ceiling height & grow style?

first of all thank you for your advice ..
the room is about 2.5m / 8ft high and my idea was to put lots of plants .. more or less a SOG.
the vegetative room is separate so I was looking for LEDs specifically for flowering

With 8' ceilings & a SOG you have unlimited options that would work because a SOG is fairly short so you could even have a light with lenses if you wanted.
Still, my recommendation does not change. Amare Bars-6's or Bar-8's. They are x2 totally different builds so you know. Not just x2 bars less.
Although you could outfit it with x6, CMH's too. I bought x2 , up to 700w lights (x2, 315's in one detachable light w/ remote ballasts & dimmable) for just over a Grand for x2 of them.. 1260w of CMH @1.9-2.0 , umol/j & a true full spectrum.
Yes, same cost as a decent Bar-light.
Amare is the closest Bar-light to Broadband or spec at the moment Using x2 whites, 470nm, 630,660,730nm, just added 390 UVA as well. Their Gen-2 will have the full out spectrum similar to CMH but targeted and come in around 2.6 umol/j.
You can get equallish coverage using QB style lights too. And spectrum customization off the Alibaba sites.
Then there's Cutter.
