YOu missed one, black dog led, would have won your competition hands down. 15 spectrums with uv/ir, 3w led's running over 2 watts each and 5watt led models for 2011.

I'll look into Black Dog. I am considering the possibility of trying to squeeze in one more tent.. but I'm not entirely sure yet.

DSCF2557.jpgpic is just to show distance i'm refrencing...

i had to spin my 3 gal smart pot this morning because my white russian seedling was starting to get a decent lean going on. as seen in the photo i've got two three gal pots side by side and hanging just about 14" above the soil centered between the pots is my 180w high output blackstar LED.

i added side lighting cfl's to my grow cab to help the lower buds pop once my plants are going but now i'm using them to help keep temp in my cabinet in the butter zone, i was intially worried my seedling might lean toward the cfl (23watt bright white) which sits level to the soil and just at the edge of the pot maybe 4.5" from the seedling and get burnt by growing to close. but it's just the opposite despite how close the cfl is to the plant its leaning for my blackstar... guess they got the light mix right on this led cuz the plant has voted and LED beats CFL even at very close range

Hey everybody who is using LEDs out there. Lets join up and start chattin about this and that. Figuring crap out. Seeing what works for you, but not me, etc. etc.

It would be much appreciated if only people who USE CURRENTLY leds for mostly full grows, or vegetative grows using only LEDs.

HID users, we already know you are better than us, and your buds are bigger than ours. But there is a first time for everything, and a new beginning at ever end of something old.

ALSO IF YOU ARE AN LED SALESMAN TRYING TO SELL YOUR PRODUCT THIS IS NOT THE THREAD FOR YOU! STAY AWAY! IF YOU ARE AFFILIATED WITH A COMPANY AND HAVE BIAS FEEDBACK WITHOUT RESULTS. STAY AWAY!

Thank you all, and I hope this thread EXPLODES in growth...

these light look very similar to advance led but claim to use only white led in different temp ranges... says 3 watt chipsets but i couldn't find what kind of led they use
they have the same casing as advanced but the specs are way different. The price for a 200w panel is about $200 more than advanced's. Ive seen quite a few led companies coming out with white lights but I have no clue how well they perform. Interested to see them in action though. What feature I really like on them is the co2 intake distribution system built through the fans...pretty neat.

Hmm its either the cheap 240 blackstar or the new kessil 350 and a 150 veg. The kessil's seem sweet but there are very few kessil only grows so Im kind of doubting em as a main grower. Growing 2-3 in a 2ft by 3ft tent in soil. The only real kessil only grow I saw on grasscity and the guy didnt seem all that excited about his light. Prolly end up with the blackstar just cuz its tried and proven in many journals.

unless you want a real bad taste in your mouth concerning led tech don't buy something from ebay. That is were most of the Chinese shit is unloaded to Joe Q Grower. I personally use hydroponicshut.com's pro-grow series but have also used GLH with good results. Blackstars have been proven but only carry a 12 month warranty which is why I choose not to patronize them. Also heard good things about Advanced. Whatever you wind up doing make sure you do plenty of indepedent research or you could wind up with an expensive heartbreak.

What do i need to look for spectrum wise and wattage wise? Jow many watts for 1 plant etc.? How close to you put these to the plants?
Spectrum wise look for at least 8 wavelengths, the average seems to be 11 or 12 with the high end being 14 or 15. try to get one that has some ir and uv a in the mix as well. Wattage wise i'd recommend at least 60 to 90w per plant of legit 3w leds. I ran a 180w over three and two plants in separate cycles and I think any more would have been pushing it but I guess it depends on how big you'll be growing them too. I put mine 8-24 inches above the canopy dependong on stages of growth and how plants respond.

I use anywhere from 130-160w of total led output per plant and I grow autos. Not talking about chipset capacity but total power draw. One panel dedicated to each plant.
