Liberty Haze

Today is day one, week two of flower. I still have the MH bulb in and am still running up around 1100PPM, give or take 50PPM

It's stretching, it's starting to get hairy and it looks healthy - I can't ask for more... I have to post a picture of what are some of my very first ever home grown buds! :D Sure, it's just one or two pistils but it counts ;)

Thanks mate, I appreciate that... I haven't... but I did spend about 6 to 8 months, from finally deciding to grow after decades of smoking, before I even germinated seeds. During that time I searched for each item I needed, and did the online research. Spent more money than I needed.

I wanted to have all the equipment and a fair idea on how I was going to grow from start to finish, well before I started, so that even if I asked for help along the way it hopefully wouldn't be a life or death matter. More like live advice from experienced growers who can help fine tune my grow and teach me tricks and tips that often go missed in the thousands of threads about growing... but because I might be at a certain point in my grow it triggers you guys to say "Oh, hey, you know what works well for... ?"

The tip you gave me about keeping the MH bulb in after flipping to 12/12, for example, in the whole time I was looking I never came across that information. Since starting my grow and adjusting it because of the new info, I've seen three others who have confirmed it in other threads...

Should I be clipping some fan leaves, bro, or just... leave it?

If it were me, id leave them now .... thise leaves are the power plants making all the ebergy needed. You can clip later on (and only when needed) to uncover a blocked budsite or something ;-) ... I like to leave as much on top as possible and only clip rarely here and there and when needed ..... are you starting to see more yellowing of these tips with more pistils shooting out?

Great, I've left them un trimmed... I wasn't sure about it, I just wanted to ask in case it was something I missed...

Oh yeah, I the pistils multiply every day mate it's fun to watch. :) The girls are stretching, you know, but nothing the grow space space can't handle at this stage. In fact one good thing; I've let the plants grow a about six inches closer to the light hood WITHOUT raising it up higher and there's no sign on the plants that it's too close/hot, so that's good to know :)

Everything seems to be going okay... tomorrow will be 10 days in flower and the tops are starting to really look like buds. Oh, I wanted to ask, what do you think of those disposable c02 pots? You know the ones, peel the lid off, put some water in them, shake them every day and last about 2 weeks. Are they worth throwing in to the tent?

Thats good to know in case they get really close later on. But for now ya want to keep the light high enough for light spread to cover the entire canopy .... i think 18 inches for 600w .... what i do is actually bring the back of my hand around the peripheries of the screen to see how good the light is and compare it to the middle ... I raise and lower to see if I lose intensity due to the angle of the reflectors. I hope Im making some sense.
And as far as those disposable co2s, i really dont have any experience with them and this is the first tine I hear of them .... maybe I need to my homework n do more reading.....been slacking lately

I've got it at about 40cm at the moment which is 15 inches... It seems to be a pretty good height for the hood. Do you think I should raise it?

I did leave it a little closer because the plants didn't seem to mind but what you said about the light getting to the sides, good point. :)

The c02, yeah I think I'm going to try it out... I've seen them at a local hydro shop, and online, and would cost me about 40$ and it'd last two weeks. I see some growers use c02 and others don't but I've never noticed anything standout different, but I haven't previously been looking to note that when I check out others grows. I'm happy to spend the money if it's going to be worth it. I'll keep looking because I think these disposable c02 things come in sizes that will keep X space at Y PPM.

Well, I can see what you mean about LH stretching @ Dr... Man, I go to check on them today and, honestly, 3 or 4 inches easy in some parts. They've almost doubled in height in 24 hours, I hope it slows down now but we're still, only, in week two of flower, so... After what you were saying I was thinking that I was getting off lightly, they didn't seem to be doing anything too wild.. until last night ha ha.
 
Lol yes dude LH will surprise you some days. Just when ya though she was done, baaaaam, a couple inches lol .... i believe i had stretching past 3 weeks with my last LH run. Great smoke though ..... the liok on your friends faces or anyone that tries it for the first time is worth ALL the trouble ya go through with her heheheh especially the long flowering time

We are at 15 days flowering (12/12) now, I've just changed out the res and taken these photos. Check out this mutant, the first inline photo, it's got buds growing off the stems of fan leaves, is that normal?!

Attached are some other photos to show the flower development. Is that good for 15 days? It's like that all through the girls - though obviously you take photos of the ones you think look the best, right? I hope they all get nice and fat. Also, I have attached a couple of canopy shots, can you see the bud sites all through? The angled shot shows it well. Everything is so much taller, I have to hold the phone up over my head to get it all in frame on that angle.

This thing has stretched a lot, the canopy is 30cm (12inch) above the screen now. I still have the MH bulb in and I'll monitor it a bit more closely over the next couple of days to determine if it's slowing down because I want to put the HPS in :)


Do you think I need to trim some of these fan leaves, let more light in, or leave it for a bit longer?

I'm still running my PPM at around 1100 and adding h2o2 at 35%, at 2ml per 10L, twice a week.

Things are looking great bro ... the canopy is nice green full and vibrant .... the flowers are developing nicely for that stage ... youre doing great. Id suggest another elastic screen an inch above your canopy with big 5inch squares. This would serve as support for the fat buds on taller stems. Id snip or tuck under any more fan leaves covering bud sits but be gentle and dont over so it.
That weird growth off the fan leaf stem is SUPER AWESOME dude. Never seen or heard anything like it before but it kinda sgows gow crazy this plant with flowering lol ... i wonder if its shooting flowers from her roots too hah would like to hear what someone with more experience has to say about this phenomenon

Thanks Dr, I was wondering if I was going to need to do something about keeping everything standing if my buds grow large... I will do in a couple of days, when I can get to the hardware. That's probably a good call about me not going near it with scissors; every time I do I take too much and get anxious about it. Ha ha. I do tuck the fan leaves back often so I'll just keep going.

Man, how alien does it look? I can't wait to smoke that mutant. I really hope someone can shed some light on whether its, say, genetic, environmental or just a freak thing. I hope the answer is that it's genetic because I took cuttings and they're growing fine ;)

So, anyway, I switched to the HPS bulb today... It just happened, I know I should have waited longer to really determine if the stretch is near ending... but I did it and we'll all move forward :D I may have been baked at that time. And now.
 
Youre fine bro .. its all a percentage . You already reduced the stretch to its max now time to focus on the flowers which need the red spectrum. Theyre developing so its time ;-)
To help support the fat n heavy colas (trust me they will get fat n heavy) either get a bunch of yoyos ... or (my preference ) they sell elastic scrog nets .... get one thats 4x4 with 5x5inch squars .... and just set it right above the canopy now and let the buds grow upward through these squares. I used it in scrogging the LH in my last run hah ... they suck as scrog screens but would be awesome to support the fatties; -)
