I'm pretty sure that there's a certain age that it does die, all life dies eventually, plants are no different. Cells become weak as they age and eventually this leads to death of any life.
what will happen is you can flower out pick somebuds put it back into vegi an let it keep growin.i grew a plant for a year like this it would've gone longer but it had gotten a bad gnat infestion,an instead of letting it continment the othe plants i chopped it down=<
this is my first time attempting to grow one of the plants is only 13 inches tall and is already starting to bud does anyone know about how much bud i can expect from this plant and can i take a make a clone of it or is it to smallany advise would be very appreciated
I pretty sure he was asking how long it lives in the wild.
And the answer is one year. The plant is survived by it's children(seeds) embedded in it's flowers.
mother plants can live for years as long as you crop branches to keep new growth active and 24 or 18 hour light cycles... however i keep my moms under 24 hour light just to keep out any chances of budding (peace of mind thing).
in the wild the plants will live from the time of germination till the second or third frost and die off like most brush and weeds.
the first plant i ever got to bud outside... i moved indoors and kept alive for 4 months... until bud rot set in... i was so fascinated by a growing bud!! lol
