no doubt. i removed the mylar from my floor. someone pointed out to me that it could burn the underside of the leaves....
 
Anyways if anyone has a lumen tester and a free CFL make a can reflector and see what lumen reading you get. compare to the advertised.

Plants CAN NOT <--- (_EMPHASIS_) Utilize light from the under-side of their leaves. They CAN NOT <-- (_Again_) engage in photosynthesis from the underside of their leaves. I'm sorry if you've been mislead but its true look it up.

Also the top of a leaf is UV protected the bottom is not .. I take it back you wont burn your leaves .. go ahead stick lights under your leaves. you'll FRY them.

cant believe were at 220 posts on something that should have ended weeks ago, ppl just get the fuck over it, what does it matter if someone halfway across the world has an opinion, fact of the matter is they are entitled to it, what it all comes down to though is how well you can back your arguement up, in my eyes someone who when questioned about their beliefs starts shouting swearing and screaming has no fact, just a strong will and they are trying to force it through on that alone
 
you know, I am not sure at all about the mylar thing. I dont use it, my walls are flat white. I'm not really sure it would hurt it, but I am not sure it would help it either.
 
Growing weed is easy. So is growing bad weed.

CFL's are like listening to a cassette or an 8-Track when you can have a CD with HID lighting.

Same shit and the quality is .... well.... cheaper.

If you think your weed should taste cheap and look like shit, then CFL's are your choice. I prefer the good shit and not ditch weed.

Well i'm using a 250w cfl for veg and i guess my plants are going to taste cheap and i suppose they also look like shit.

Its actually really really reflective and clear almost mirror reflective. the color of my plants reflection on it is pretty much exact so there cant be that much light distortion going on. The stuff doesnt wrinkle like tin foil either or have the direct heat issues. I measured it out to come down from the top of the box to the above soil level of the plant.

It is a shame you are not using MH and that you settle for second rate weed and yields. All that work because someone sold you on CFL's. Too bad.

I guess the dispensaries need low grade weed as well as top shelf weed so there is a market for shitty weed so no worries.

1 how many lumens per square foot are required for the veg stage
2 what colour spectrum do marijuana plants really like during the veg stage

How can anyone believe that the plant gives two shits and a fuck about what light it is under if you are producing the same spectrum and same intensity there should be no difference.

Here I'll put it into terms even you can understand.


CFL light is no better or worse for your plants than HID. If you can match the same spectrum and intensity the plant will grow the same.

Idiot translation: Light good. heat bad.

Just because you can do it with the most popular lighting choice doesnt mean HPS bends over and shits a magic rainbow on your plant.

Hey the right answer is the more the better and they dig blue light during VEG and MH is perfect for the best punching power and growth studies of root mass. The Canadians and the Dutch and my momma's momma know this fact.

Flowering digs the red or orange spectrum which HPS is great at but you did not ask.

Also, quick shots of CO2 from your breath under the humidity domes has shown plants produce greater yields and better bud even though you stop using CO2. Not many know this fact and if you do, then you have been paying attention to the cutting edge research papers and double blind studies.
