Supercrop them or just cut a foot off the tops. It has plenty of time to grow back and it's just going to be bushier.
At 4.5 ft now that is the way to go now, especially if ops afraid of heights. I put mine out at about 1-1.5 ft and im thinking of starting in pots or waiting till mid late june

My clones outgrew my tent and I ended up having to take new clones to veg and throw out a 4' tall healthy motorbreath 15 plant I had spent 3 months growing cuz it was too big to flower. Didn't think you would want to hear that. The other one I chopped way down and removed a ton of plant mass and ended up flowering it like a mother plant. It is doing pretty well right now. The bubba kush on the left. You can turn your lights down some too as your just in veg and don't need a ton of ppfd.IMG_20220409_110527710~2.jpg

I'd say your fine with 16/8 if you're going out in June. You don't want it to be a big jump but that's reasonable. I'll defer to the outdoor guys if they come in though as I'm mostly an indoor guy. I'm in VA too and last year was my first outdoor grow. I'm still debating whether or not I'm putting a plant outside or not. I needed to clear some trees for better sunlight but didn't get it done this winter. I don't know if it's worth it to me to deal with the bugs and rain for 5-6 hours a day of direct sun. You're going to need a lot of support for trees that big. Depending on the strains they're going to get really big and need some help with the winds you get down there in S. VA during fall storm season.

Keep 18+ hours of light to remain in VEG. Place plants outdoors for a week or two for a couple hours a day before you plant them or place them permanently, this will allow them to "harden" and not be prone to getting annihilated by natural wind and sunlight.

I vegged some monsters last year and put them out and the wind beat the shit out of them. Caught some neighborhood kids creeping on my crop so I had a big campfire.

So I guess at this point I will top them again trim little and hold them in this veg state .. harden them up last two weeks of May put in Ground June 1. Anyone disagree with this ?

I think this was the article I was kind of following the light situation in the begining... I guess my plants being so mature the 30minute changes wouldn't apply . I appreciate all the replies . Looks like I'll hold them Until June 1 that's three weeks before the longest day of the year .. hopefully it will work out transplanting them at that time ..

This were germinated June 1 last season IMG_20210916_155017291.jpg Picture is Sept 16.Small one was planted as seed July 10.
