So I have an 3x3x6 grow tent was wondering what would be the essentials needed when I grab a VIVOSUN 400HPS to ensure it doesn’t get over heated and have high humidity.. I was going to put 4 plants and all of them in 2 gallon pot ..

Make sure you get the sealed hood, a 6" carbon filter and a 6" 400+ cfm fan. Then just use ducting to vent the hot air out of the tent and the room it's in. It will be a tight fit. If you didn't already have the tent I'd say to get a 4 x 4 x 8. But a 400 should be fine in that tent. Shouldn't have any issue getting rid of the heat with a good fan. Run it at night in the summer when it's cooler, etc...

Thank you that helped a lot .

With running with HPS, would my bill be higher ?

IMO I think you might get a little warm in that tent with a hps. Your gonna have to keep the plants pretty low in height with 4 as well. Best wishes grower.

That's why I said the 4 x 4 x 8 would be better. Six feet doesn't give you much room. That's more of a veg tent height.

Your electric bill will not rise a substantial amount. If you know what your rate per KWH is you can get an idea.
For instance, if you pay $0.20 per KWH, a 400w HPS will cost around a nickle per hour. Throw in all the fans, and you might take up another 300w per hour, or .3 KWH...
Making sense?

Perfect sense

I started with a 400watt MH/HPS in a 3x3.

Definitely want a air cooled hood and 6” fan. Sucking form carbon filter in tent threw the hood and bulb. Then out the room.

That will get you going. But I would go 600watt over a 400watt. I was never happy with a 400watt.

How much did you yield with your 3x3 400hps?
