Likes have only been around like 6 months but people are freaking out. x) Where's the love for the Rep system? The forebearer of this Facebook spawn?

The rep system is harder to track, (all I seem to be able to see is the last handful of recent reps) and it isn't as integrated into the posts system. Where's the love for open-endedness and utilizing both? Where's the love for KEEPING a feature that is obviously being used prominently?
This isn't a "rep or like" situation, it's a "rep" or "rep AND like" situation. I will take the latter, thank you very much...
So now every time someone wants to say they agree with something they have to waste another six inches of screen real estate with a separate post? Like was just an easy way to affirm agreements in situations that don't call for a whole nother post just to say "I agree, but have nothing else to add."
